Your show is so engaging that I am watching multiple episodes of you gardening on a beautiful Spring Saturday morning instead of tending to my own! lol

Humm, this was very interesting - it challenged some of my pre-conceived dislikes, notably MacD's. I may need to have another think about that one...

Thanks for these videos. I look forward to seeing each episode. Could you let us know what you are eating and if you feel fitter and whether you are losing weight? This would be good as well as all the farming issues you cover.

I just found this channel last night and have been bingeing it since. If we could get you and OYR Frugal & Sustainable Organic Gardening together on a podcast my day would be made. Unfortunately OYR Frugal & Sustainable Organic Gardening doesn't produce content anymore, but he used to produce content where he showed how to have fresh grown food all year round in temperatures that get much colder than yours, some of his techniques would work wonderfully for your poly tunnel setup. We 100% will never solve the climate crisis we have thrown our world into without a focus on small local production of food. Looking forward to see how the rest of your year goes.

Your pea shoots are coming along a treat, Max!! I've recently taken my own good advice, and thickly sown a 10 metre row of peas for shoots that I hope will continue through the winter. Just about ready to eat. They are almost indestructible, so abundant, and delicious, when other fussy plants turn up their toes.

Thanks so much. Pea shoots are great aren’t they? I am eating loads - and bean shoots. Real hungry gap staples. Really kind of you to take the time. Max

Another great one Max, l totally agree that as farmers we should be looking back to save our and our children's future. Heaping on tons of artificial fertilizers may help now but it does nothing for the future. As for the great salad debate don't get me started we should be eating seasonally if you want salad have good homemade coleslaw with crunchy cabbage, carrots and onions not watery tomatoes etc. (Mini rant over ) I cannot wait to get my tunnel going again but thanks to the last storm l will have to delay that to re build again but the kitchen table will be commandeered into service so we are ready to go once the weather here in Scotland settles down, we have snow next week. Good luck with the rest of your project look forward to seeing the next installment.

There’s even snow forecast here next week. I feel it’s quite a late early spring if that makes sense. We had the big cultivator out in the second week in March last year. Really looking forward to veging here too. Thanks for yr support. Max

Thank you so much for your thoughts about the future of farming. Not only are you having this binary debate in the UK, we are in the same place here in Switzerland. And as long as there's this big gap between people and their one-sided narratives, hardly anything will change. It's frustrating.

My latest baby dairy goat is also called Brenda, in honour of the Watching character. Was that a factor in your cow's name?
@MaxGrowingSolo
@MaxGrowingSolo Год назад
My Brenda is named after the late Queen. When she was born I wanted her to be called Queenie. But it was vetoed by son Jack. So we settled on Brenda which is a name journalists used to call the Queen because of a running Private Eye gag in the 70s. But it’s a great name!!

Thanks Chris. Everyone loves a pedant. For some reason they can’t run very fast and so tend to get dunked regularly which is a great old fashioned country pastime. Xx
