McDonald's Hawaii -- Hawaiian menu items only in Hawai'i 

I was watching the food network recently and I realized what it is that makes Emmy so much more enjoyable. She isn't pretentious about food. She'll eat and enjoy most things and give everything a fair shot. I heard a guy on the food network recently say, "Canned ravioli? Gross, I'd never eat that, not on purpose anyway." Give me someone who appreciates luxury cooking and a simple MacDonald's breakfast.

Every time my nanny hears an ambulance she’s always said “I hope it’s someone in labor”. Emmy saying she hopes everybody is okay made my heart so happy.

I knew a girl in college (In Michigan) who had been a manager at a McDonald's and INSISTED that all American McDonald's had the exact same menu. I tried to tell her this wasn't true, as I had gotten McBiscuits and Gravy at McD's in Kentucky and McLobster Roll at a McD's in Maine. She didn't believe me! Glad to see this video, which proves her wrong once again! Take that, Heather! Muahahaha!

McD's once had fried cherry pies. Those were BOMB! Miss them to this day.

I worked at a McDonald’s in Hawaii for about 6 months and there’s also taro pie and haupia pie occasionally, depending on locations. Mine had haupia available all the time along with apple and the taro came and went. They all were fried and looked the same on the outside but the taro one had a creamy purple filling and the haupia had a creamy coconut filling. Both pretty popular. And also tourists always ordered the “hawaiian kona blend coffee” which was the only coffee we served anyway for our hot coffee, iced coffee, etc except I think it was actually from a coffee plant in Hawaii and not another mainland state. And then I think the last difference was the mcchicken. They serve a regular non spicy one whereas I believe most other states only offer the hot and spicy mcchicken. I prefer the non spicy but thats just me. Otherwise, I was used to all of these! And the saimin taste like instant noodles because it is. All we do is add hot water to it and serve it. Great video :)

When my uncle moved to the mainland back in the late 80's he tried to order a saimin at mcdonalds in California 😂😂😂

What we call "Portuguese sausage" in Hawaii is usually our Hawaiian version of linguica. Yes, one of my all time favorite breakfast meats and found in a lot of our recipes. Love your channel, thanks for all you do.

Hi Emmy, we have the Local Deluxe Breakfast (Spam, Portuguese Sausage, Egg, and Rice) and Apple Pie here on Guam as well. So, not only Hawaii has it on their menu. It comes with a small tiny packet of the same things as well (soy sauce, salt, and pepper).

When my family lived on Guam my dad had a coworker from Saipan named Sam. Sam used to make “Saipan Sam’s Gourmet Spam” as my dad called it. It was nothing but steamed cabbage and spam. It is still my favorite guilty pleasure.

I really appreciate how educated Emmy is and how she mentions foods from all around the world for reference of taste, looks, texture or smell! It's amazing the knowledge this woman has of world cuisine and how she can just casually show it in a freakin' McDonald's taste test video!

It's crazy how different it is from one country to another. In Brazil, for example, the pies are still fried, I didn't even know there were places where it was baked!

I went to a college in Oregon with a high population of students whose home state was Hawaii, so our dining hall had a lot of options for food that the Hawaiian students might miss being away from home. About every other week they would serve that plate lunch (scrambled eggs, rice, sausages, spam, and a sweet almost teriyaki-like sauce) in our dining hall and it was the BEST thing they served! It was always a good day when you walked in and saw that was what was for lunch!

In my day, a McD burger, fries and a drink (they all came in only one size) was 88 cents, and for the 12 cents left in your dollar, you could get a fried pie. You dared not eat it right away, because the filling was lava hot. Today, they'd be paying gajillions in lawsuits for blistered tongues. In those more innocent times, we simply learned to let them cool. Have some loco moko, definitely some ahi pokè, and (of course) a Spam musubi or three. Cheers, Our Lovely.

Girl, got it! I'm from O'ahu, so this makes my heart so happy. I can't even count how many mornings I spent scarfing down rice, eggs, and Portuguese sausage on the way to school (not from McD's though). Their saimin will do in a pinch, but I'd love to see your reaction to a good ole Zippy's Surf Pac. That was my "fast food" of choice for long beach days. Aloha!

Used to LOVE the McD's deep fried pies as a kid! Especially the cherry pie. And yes, blistered the roof of my mouth more times than I can count eating them.

I agree with the fried pies...should give you an option of them! After seeing your video about the peach mango one, I came up with a new dump cake. In 9x13 sprayed pan, I put a can of peach pie filling, and a can of mango pieces with half the juice drained off and mixed the mango with the pie filling. Took a pineapple cake mix, dry, and sprinkled evenly over the fruits. Then melted one stick of butter and drizzled over the cake mix covering as much as possible. Bake 350 for 30-45 minutes until golden brown. Delicious

I just had to say this, because I recently watched another youtuber throw a package of cream cheese in his toilet :( it was a joke and he still used the cream cheese, but I still feel bad for the food! Oh Emmy that brings back memories. We moved from England to Hawaii so we went from streaky bacon, tea, toast and eggs to saimin , eggs and Portuguese sausage. My daughter was delighted as noodles were her favorite food then.
