I remember when I was 9 years old while at a McDonalds for a field trip I actually tripped and lost my grip and my lunch fell on the floor making a huge mess (it was hard to hold the tray when u are little and trying to take it to sit down and eat) a lady working there saw it and knelt in front of me hugging me an wiping my tears saying its ok ill go get u a new one I have kids at home im used to it after we were all done eating the lady tells my teacher its ok I have kids at home I never knew her name but seeing her be so patient wit kids makes me think people like that need a raise or a promotion they go so unnoticed its sad they seemed to be ignored by the public another time I went to McDonalds a Social worker had me my brother and two sisters in his car we were going to an appointment I think it was over a possible candidate for adoption as we were all in fostercare my little brother cried because he wanted a happy meal but instead we all had boxes of cookies (to me that was a happy meal eating cookies for lunch) The Social worker tells my brother look all the other kids here are jealous because u kids get cookies for lunch my brother did stop crying and ate there are so many stories but there isnt enough time in the world I just wanted to share a few

Great memories. I worked at my local McDonald's from 1972 to 1974. McDonald's was one of the few places where a teen could work. I was 15 when I started. This was permitted with a limited work schedule. I later got a job as a bagger at a grocery store. The pay was double what it was at McDonald's.

I used to work at McDonald's in the '80s. the work environment was organized and ran well. nowadays the employees and management seem chaotic and confused, very slow. I suppose that's where you live I live in the greater Cleveland area the McDonald's in the far suburbs are much better.

My early childhood memories of McDonald's were going to the older style building that had the slanted roof, golden arches, and cement picnic tables out front. It was a real treat summer ! Fast forward to 1976 on my 16th birthday I applied for my first job at the newer modeled McDonald's in my neighborhood. I worked there for almost two years until I graduated high school and left for Navy bootcamp. While I worked there they put in the first drive through and sent a handful of us for drive through training at another McDonald's a few hours away that had one. We were the #1 McDonald's restaurant in the region. I learned a lot working there about teamwork, cleaning, and people skills! That helped me through bootcamp, Nsvy service, motherhood, nursing career, outreach, volunteering, Church community, and life. I highly recommend McDonald's for a first job for teens and anyone looking for a first job in the workforce. I still remember hearing "if you got time to lean, you've got time to clean!" Keeping busy was a must....still is!🍔🍟🥤🍦

I recall Friday nights as a child in San Bernardino when the family went out as a treat. I recall the tall neon sign with Speedie on the run outlined with the brilliant colors. The coeds from San Bernardino High School sitting on the tire/headlight fenders tossing fries onto the parking lot and the chubbiest wrens you ever saw bouncing about grabbing up the fries like they were worms. The boyfriends getting upset with the girls giving the fries the boys bought them to the birds. The girls just laughed at their protests. In my small hands the hamburger looked like a monster and the shakes were great. Just loved those special Friday nights.

When I was a child, the nearest McDonald's was two hours away in Springfield, Missouri. Once or twice per year, my parents would drive to Springfield to shop. My brothers and I would beg my dad to take us to McDonald's (prompted by TV advertisements, lol). My dad really didn't like the place or want to go there, but he would usually give in and take us there! Later on, around 1980, a McDonald's opened just 10 minutes away from our house. It was the very first restaurant in the whole area that had a drive-up window. Dairy Queen quickly added a drive-up window, but it was very slow. How they used to be made and cooked gave the burgers their flavour. All the flavours come from the sauces now. Thus began the American Obesity crisis as we know it. I eat healthy foods and let me tell you if I go back and try and eat there I get sick from all the chemicals, sugar and saturated fats in it. Its like a shock to my system. No thanks I will continue to eat healthier food choices and make my own food.

IN MY HUMBLE OPINION...IT WAS A BIG MISTAKE FOR THE BROTHERS TO DO BUISNESS WITH RAY CROC....MCDONALDS WOULDVE STILL BEEN THE BEST BURGER CHAIN IF THE BROTHERS NEVER SOLD IT TO RAY CROC.....MCDONALDS WOULD STILL BE LIKE ( IN N OUT )......REAL SHAME MCDONALDS HAS GONE SPIRALLING DOWN....

What I miss the most about McDonald's is the real meat that they used to put in their burgers

I don't know about Burger King, But McD's used to use a flat top grill to cook on. Now they don't. They only cook it on the grill for 40 seconds before sending it to a steamer/heating warmer and that's where it sits for upto 1/2 an hour. When you order a burger, it's pulled from the warmer and made, instead of from the grill.
