The McLaren 570GT joins the 570S and 540S in McLaren's Sport Series model line up, offering traditional McLaren levels of performance with a touch practicality.
With a 562bhp 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 the 570GT is claimed to reach 62mph in 3.4-seconds and top 204mph. With its opening rear hatch it's also the most suitable day-to-day McLaren the company has built.

Is it just me or is this a genius idea? Creating effectively two models of the same car - one sharper, brightly coloured, harder-edged, lighter; the other plush, elegant and more practical. I honestly can't understand why car manufacturers haven't done this before with supercars. I can't say if it will work but if I was in the market for a touring vehicle with a bit of power I think McLaren would be first on my list. Might need to win the lottery first though. I think it's much prettier than the S as well.

+ELEMEENOOPEE As long as they keep making hyper cars like P1 I really dont care even if they make a competitor for toyota corolla. Its all about money, they are entering 911 segment which is super lucrative for companies like Porsche as anyone with a good salary can buy a 911 and now a 570 when before you had to be a millionaire just to dream of a McLaren car.

I think if you turn a blind eye to the FF this is the best daily supercar. High(ish) MPG, large boot, comfortable, quiet.

the only thing I didn't love about the 570s was the rear with that carbon fiber middle part. now that they fixed that and made a bigger ducktail, its literally perfect.

The only thing I didn't like about the 570s was the rear angle. The way the buttresses fell inwards against a flat engine cover. Also how the black roof blended into the black engine cover into the black rear bumper looked weird to me. I love the look of this; looks much cleaner. I like how the glass cover creates nicer proportions; also how the body colour flows around the rear deck lid. Good job McLaren this is a Win!

This is a worthy competitor to the 991.2 Turbo S although we must admit this 570GT looks beautiful, possibly even more beautiful than the 570S! The new trunk and plexiglass roof actually make such an aesthetic difference. Well done McLaren and great video!

+Lennie Godber It's true, it's hard to consider the McLaren if the Huracan is in the same bracket. I would rather the car NOT be entirely carbon, but instead use it where it's needed, anyway. Aluminum is still one of the best materials for cars at any price.

+matt pierce I'm quite the McLaren fan my self... but this model really stretches the term of a GT! GTs are traditionally front engine to allow enough space in the back for luggage. I know tradition is a poor argument against change, but if I wanted a GT, I'd go for something else. If I wanted a sports car, I'd go for the 570GT (or 570S), but I'd still see it as a sports car and not a GT.

Oh, the car. Interesting direction McLaren took the 570s. I'm curious to see the reviews concerning the handling. What I'm not liking about the Sport Series is the lack of ability to see the engine bits. That's the ONLY thing I don't like about the 570s, but it's understandable for the 570GT to get the storage space increased.

the ford focus comparison could have been left out. with two passengers in the focus, you can drop the back seat down for 1000 or so liters of luggage.

If it is about touring and comfort, I think an old school stick would have been more appropriate and a stick would have given the car more appeal while differentiating it from the 570s. Its "3 db quieter" lol so its the exact same car with a nicer interior, longer gearing and softer ride.

There softest supercar does 0-60 in 3.4 WOW!!! they should just make a V6. They really need to soften things a bit to separate the line up...a dramatic stand in power. If I buy a 650S I don't want my engine sharing anything with 570, the only shared should be seats and entertainment systems. Thank you EVO for information

Having the "inner" part of the door in body color and that rear window makes the GT look 1023x better than the 570s, these changes transforms the whole car imo. The 570s is downright ugly with it's awkward rear window/bonnet design but this looks rather good actually. Well done McLaren.

No different from Ferrari when they first moved into production cars. Many versions of the same car, based on the same chassis and same engine. A proven method in industry.

+Andreas Breslawski Totally agree, but i didn't like this anyway, the difference is too much, aesthetically looks odd. The deTuned engine is enough i think for slowing the car. Again, making it prone to understeer with less braking capability, come on, it's still an expensive car.

There's something about the styling that just doesn't quite work for me. The P1 looks fantastic but i can see too many watered down styling aspects of the P1 on this. The air intake lines along the doors just don't look right. I'm sure it all works beautifully from an engineering point of view but I'd like to see McLaren be a bit more inventive with the styling from model to model. There's too many similarities that tie all the available models together which work on a few but not so much on others.
