McLaren Honda MP4/5 (1989) vol.2 - 3.5L V10 NA Engine 

The echo from the sound of the V10. Bouncing through the area, really insane. So brutal and raw. This is the best sound of any F1 car in mine opinion.

I can listen to that sound all day

I usually listen to this when I'm struggling to sleep. It really relaxes the soul and reminds you of the good ol' days

What a beautiful sound, that has to be the best engine sound I've ever heard period, more so than the quattro S1 5 cylinder and that takes some beating! If only they would allow engines of this sort to race again.

Reminds me of the hsv-010 engine, incredible. I wish Honda made a production car with a NA V10 engine.

V10s, the REAL sound of F1...!

This is without any doubt the best sounding F1 power unit ever. You need to hear it at full chat on a decent circuit the change into top gear is incredible. Watch the British gp clips and you will hear this beast so distinctly above all else, even Ferrari's screaming v12 is inferior. Trust me you'll love it.

I'm sure we can all agree on the sound of the v10 and how incredible it is. Additionally, in my opinion this generation of f1 cars also looks the best. They were so small, so low, so aggressive. They look like such a joy to drive. While the aero on the new f1 cars is very impressive (cannot take away from the technological advancements of the new cars), this car in particular looks so amazing.

so much emotion in that engine note, makes me wanna tear up from the pure joy and bliss from hearing it. wish I was born earlier so I could experience hearing/seeing these cars flat out in a grand prix. could listen to this all day.

this is the definitive sound of formula 1 , it should be stamped in its certification (Honda’s v10)

This is one of those engines that makes your hair stand up when you hear it in person. Imagine being a human who gets to hear it warm up like this too and not just on the track. Incredible.

there is no surprise , when the MP-4/5came out in 1990 with hondas RA100E , it was Honda’s corporate peak , at the time it became the second largest japanese auto manufacture , it had passed Chrysler in the top 10 ranking and its luxury division Acura was the pinnacle of performance for japan , its revolutionary technology VTEC was a a mainstream and not to mention winning and dominating Formula 1

You can tell why senna incident was so tragic. It is because the sound of the beast he rode on. The mighty and angry roar which suddenly goes silent.

It sounds a little different than the MP4/4 model. And this difference is clearly visible.
