@@userk_yt8966 No they arent. The Honda sounds just as good if you have ever heard it at 100%, especially because it was mated to a manual trans. Downshifting sounds glorious.
@@nickthegreekgreek156 All Honda engine are Relay Great !!! The best gazoline engine. I like la mp4/4 V6 turbo ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0W7lufh_7IQ.html&ab_channel=Deckay_F
sometimes I think I'm so lucky I grew up with these sounds. I remember myself immitating them during school lessons causing tons of laughs to the classroom. Bad thing is when I realize how time slept away. 20 years without Ayrton is way too much...
I know what you mean, I was a kid growing up with F1 using V12's and then brilliant the V10's, the sound we have now is garbage, the racing is a farce and yes Senna's Imola accident seems like yesterday but is already 20 years, I can remember it clearly as anything even though I was 9 years old and have been in love with F1 for a good 3 years already. Now in 2014 I have finally stopped watching F1 after only missing 5 races in 22 years.
The prominent straight-cut gear whine on acceleration really makes the MP4/5 the best sounding F1 car in my opinion (though it's almost beat by the RA272). The V12 can really rev up high, though, and I'd say the pure engine sound on the MP4/6 is better, even though I prefer the sound profile of a V10.
I absolutely LOVE the 3.5 Hondas from that era. The low rpm sounds like a lambo V12, then it just loses it's mind as if theres no limit!!! Simply an amazing engine.
Actually, this 1991 Mclaren is "the" most hardcore F1 car ever build of every era in F1.. This car had no active suspension, no flappy paddle gearbox, no ABS, no traction control (sort of), no active aero, no hybrid power.. ;) And still, they only managed to get as competitive as this car around 2000 (in lap times..) ;) (10 years later fcs..!) It was just the sheer brutal V12 power, the wide tires, the heavy aero, and.. the hands of the master himself (and Berger also ofcourse) which why this thing was so bloody fast. Love it to the bone! Look at spa 1991 quali.. Best F1 car ever with the best line up imho! Thanks for posting this man! Watched it a 1000 times last year!
+Helvecio Neto Yes, true, Spa was changed in 2000 (Raidillon), 2003 (bus stop). That's why I mentioned 10 years later. For the facts about the '92 season; check multiple pole times. Or even the quali lap at Suzuka or Monza compared between '91 and '92. Only track in 9'2 they were idd faster for pole was Monaco I think? The aero changed in 92, cars were a little heavier and stood higher from the ground, still same tire width. In '93 they ran smaller tires in width. At the end, it isn't all that important, good racing is what counts :)
Fantastic wonderful machine, that glorious V12 Honda music. I remember Ayrton screaming it down the Hangar straight at Silverstone into Stowe Corner and fast blipping the throttle through the apex. Fantastic memories. Thank you for making these bids available on RU-vid.
Gerhard Berger's car number 2. The late 80's /early 90's were the best time of formula 1 racing. Real drivers in real cars. Nice look and great sound by the way. Dream-team Senna, Berger, McLaren and Honda.
Bom dia !!!!!! Pra mim que sou brasileiro, é impossível ver esse Carro e não se emocionar. Absolutamente fantástico. Só saudades..... Muito obrigado pelo vídeo e parabéns pelo canal. Abraço do Brasil.
The hills are alive with the sound of V12 With songs they have sung for a thousand years The hills fill my heart with the sound of V12 My heart wants to sing every lapit hears
This car, the MP4/6 along with the Legendary MP4/4 are amongst the greatest F1 cars of all time... and Senna raced BOTH Cars to Championship victories. Love the sound of that V12.
Now *THIS* is what F1 was all about!! I love when he really puts his foot in it and it starts breaking traction. That thing jumps like it was hit in the ass with a cattle prod!🤣 God, I LOVE the sound of a V-12!😍
This is a pure race car. Everything as it should be. Nothing artificial just pure, raw , racing machine. Thank you HONDA! And the collection hall is fabulous!😸
Engine sounds depends not only on the number of cylinders, the fuel consumption also plays a huge role. The higher the fuel consumption, the louder sound of the engine. Green party every year toughens requirements for emissions of harmful substances. Engineers strive to reduce fuel consumption , the engine sound becomes quieter.
+Damon Frost Correct, these cars had 200 liters onboard in race trim for 305 km's. At the end, they where pretty clean for the performance they made in comparison with other type of race cars in that period :)
What is this strange thing I'm experiencing? Am I actually HEARING the engine?! Unheard of! All joking aside though, I know we have to keep up with the times but you can't help but feel sad that F1 is never going to sound as nice as this ever again.
What a sound every time i hear this sound i am getting very emotional because it toutches my soul. This sound is F1 and thats whats missing these days. Only hero,s should and could drive this symphoney beasts of F1 cars.
Harvick is good too. Great car racer. Certainly nascar and f1 theyre different sports. Great work on this video. Watched f1 years ago.beautiful car and engine.
this is music for me, the MP4/5 is my all time fav but I would consider the entire Senna era mclaren my favorite as a whole, whether they were the best cars or not
And the racing world is going the way of the electric motor....what a sad state of affairs...pity to those calling the shots. sounds like these will never be heard again except when the histories are fired up and the hair on the backs of our necks stands up once more. Best to you Honda for keeping the memories alive for those who truly appreciate the sounds of a real racing engine.
