One of the things i love most about this arc, is that you cant just "wake up" because of "power of love or friendship" or whatever, like it doesnt work like that. And that makes sense, they are completely immersed in this world, somebody coming up to them and telling them "this world is fake, and you blah blah blah" doesnt work, just like it wouldnt work if someone said that to you in the real world, like you said. And thats how it should be, and the only reason Coulson is the exception is because of Tahiti which furthers ties back into that, so its all just genius really.

Yes! Agree! Even with Coulson knowing Daisy, their connection definitely helped, but he still isn't all the way out, he's torn between the life in the framework and this new (real) life he's finding out about

Exactly, and having Coulson wake up early on was a cruel trick on the writers' part to make us believe it's possible only to dash our hopes at every opportunity!

Yeah, im gonna go out on a limb and say that these episodes, episode 15 to episode 22, is Prestige Television. And i know thats a bold claim, and thats like the highest you can get, but I geniunly believe these episodes are at that level of caliber. And yeah the Framework arc is definetly peak AOS, arguably one of the Peaks in the MCU as a whole as well.

I can never praise Mallory Jansen (Aida/Agnes) enough, her performance carries a lot of this season and she had to do the most, like our main cast are all super talented but she ended up playing several characters in a short span of time. I actually watched her in something before AoS, which is the musical comedy Galavant, so I knew she can also sing! it's unfair how talented she is! btw, highly recommend Galavant, it's such a funny underrated show!

She played 3 different characters. Aida, Agnes, and Ophelia. Very good work on her part.

@@spamfilter32 That and the fact that Aida herself went through phases, like pre-darkhold, post-Darkhold and post framework, each with subtle differences.

2:18 I think Daisy says it because Coulson is no longer himself and the show’s two most main characters are Daisy and Coulson since most of the plots revolve around them. So it’s like the show is being told from Daisy’s perspective now.

Ward can't wake up because he is not real he is framework code...only the ones who came in from the real world can technically remember who they are but not even then because the code in the framework is pretty sophisticated because of the darkhold. Coulson only woke up and only a bit because his brain was already messed with because of the Tahiti program.

Exactly. You saved me some typing because I was going to write the same. Gavin isn’t the only reactor that said/thought this. It’s a bit frustrating since I don’t know for sure if it is a misunderstanding or just semantics. Like earlier in the season he kept mentioning about people being “turned into” LMDs.

That’s exactly why I felt they could come back into the real world from the framework, because the darkholds magic is involved in their code and creation. Guess I just didn’t ever actually explain my reasoning. If Radcliffe can make Aida out of code with no magic, there’d definitely be a way to take people made out of code from the framework and put those minds into a robot version in the real world, it’s the same concept just almost reversed I guess. Either way the dark hold being involved this season makes almost anything possible

Did you notice that the password Colson uses to get into the resistance base is like the mirror to the phrase that agent Carter uses to get into the lab where they turn Steve Rogers into Captain America in the first Captain America movie? In Captain America, the call sign is "lovely weather we're having today," and the response is, "Yes, but I always carry an umbrella." In this episode, the call sign is, "it is unusually rainy," and the return line is, "rain or shine, the man with the umbrella is always ready." Kind of a fun touch

3:11 - I found it amusing that Coulson is talking about Hydra's "mind control soap" here, and then we got a "commercial" for Hydra Soak bath powder in WandaVision🤔 This was immediately what I thought of when I first saw it😉

Mallory Jansen did three Hallmark movies after her stint on "Agent of Shield" ended. While she is a very talented actress and quite pretty, it really is hard to see her as anyone other than AIDA. By the way, Elizabeth Henstridge also did a Hallmark movie - "Christmas at the Plaza" in 2019. It's really weird because she goes through the entire movie with an American accent.

I haven't relived these episodes for a while now, but man, you almost forget how special they are. S-tier writing, that pushes both the characters and the actors to new levels. These scripts must have been an absolute dream to work with. A full 7-course meal to get their teeth into.

Actually Viper and Madame Hydra are two separate characters. Viper takes over Madame Hydra monocle after Ophelia's death, in a similar way Bucky and Sam take over Captain America after Steve dies/retires.

Much as I hate Aida for trying to break up Fitzsimmons, I gotta admit her Madame Hydra look is on point 😂 Rough time for Fitzsimmons shippers, but the whole Framework arc is just so well done. Everyone is acting their asses off too! Mallory Jansen who plays Aida is so great. You should see her in Galavant, very different performance!

@@janekarna6814 "then it turned out to be nothing" that can be considered a fair description of all of Marvel Studios' phase 4 and 5 output. Especially trash like She Hulk and Secret Invasion. If it means being spared from terrible creative decisions, I would rather AoS stayed out of the sacred timeline, for the time being.

My favourite Ward blooper is from this episode, actually. xD Season 4 had additional bloopers, that I wasn't aware of at first. Discovering it was like a Christmas gift. :)

I personally like the LMD arc better than Agents of HYDRA, but think both are amazing. One of the best comments ive seen describing AIDA and Madame HYDRA is that she wrote an Agentd of SHIELD fanfic and inserted herself into it in order yo make out with Fitz. Crazy that makes for such amazing TV.

LMD arc has some a bit dull episodes, while the framework is banger after banger. Also the framework arc feels more like an arc. The "LMD" arc feels in many ways like just a transitionory period.

It should be noted that the LMD arc builds the foundation for the framework arc. So, a direct comparison of quality is tricky, since one doesn’t exist as it does without the other.

I never understand the sentiment that multiverses have no stakes. The whole point of a multiverse is that every version is unique, so it's not "just get another" because even if they look the same it's a twin, not a duplicate. It makes things bigger, not redundant.

That isn't the way they have been treated outside of the comics. In the last Doctor Strange movie (and in that Flash movie as well) multiverses are treated as vehicles of vapid fan service. In which variants of established characters can be introduced and offed at will. Thus giving audiences the impression of zero stakes.

Hang on a sec. Madame Hydra's line of "I need to find her and expose anyone helping her" i just realised something. It is entirely unclear whether Madame Hydra or the framework can even kill any of them deliberately. Due to Radcliffe's parameters, Aida and maybe even the framework NPC's might be unable to actually kill any of the "player characters." Are the people trapped in the framework the only ones who are a threat to one another?
