[ warning: controversial comment ] So, first of all just to clarify, I don’t ship ChengXian, but, as they’re *martial* brothers (aka: 2 guys who trained at the same sect) it’s not actually that bad? Like, there’s (apparently) lots of Chinese romance wuxia stories that feature romance between sect-mates(?). Sure, it’s a bit strange with ChengXian because they act like siblings, and (appear to) see each other as siblings, but technically there’s nothing illegal about it.

i agree tbh 😅 like i'm not actively shipping it but i'm not that grossed out abt it as long as they aren't shown to have more of a brotherly relationship in the art/story/vid etc

Are they even really adopted brothers?? i made a reaction vid with chengxian ship, someone commented about how sick i am for shipping 2 brothers but it’s never been stated if he was officially adopted into the family, if he was then he would’ve been Jiang Ying/wuxian. (plus yzy wouldn’t have agreed so jfm wouldn’t be able to) .. but it’s actually that he was brought into the clan (not the main family), he calls jfm as uncle instead of father like he should’ve been doing if he was truly adopted…i don’t think jc and wwx thought of each other as familial brothers but as martial brothers,… even then if they did think of each other as family, JC showed signs of jealousy whenever wwx flirted around especially with lz, and his reaction to wwx leaving again and with lz was heartbreaking, it was like watching a person who loves someone romantically but deigns to let them go free,

If you ship ChengXian is not my business or problem, I mean, I won't fight with you about if it's correct or not, because you know..., is called ''shipp'' for one reason..., but I just want to make an emphasis in something important, and it is that JC and WWX relationship is just a friendship, they love each other as brothers, and yes JC was sad to let WY leave, because even if he hate him now, he still have memories of good moments, and he feel sad because he will never have back the type of relation they have when they were younger. Just to clarify that I am just giving my point of view on the last part :v

you're not wrong for shipping it.. ppl can enjoy the book or show as they want and if u ship it and enjoy shipping it then go for it. just saying, they are only martial brothers - ppl who train in the same sect as someone alrdy explained.
