They probably arrived too late to fight; my dad was wounded, taken POW and treated well by the Germans in North Africa; he always said that their medics were better than ours; I have his battle Jacket with the bullet hole in it to this day! My dad was in the famous New Zealand 20th Battalion, probably the most highly decorated Battalion in the Entire British Empire in WW2; (3VC's plus all sort of other stuff) it also had the dubious distinction of having 397 KIA. My dad got an Oak Leaf and Bar!
