Leave it to ultrakill to have a soundtrack that brings you to tears while youre dumping mag after mag into the soul of a dead king who also happens to throw the MEANEST hands around.
What Minos did? He just built the sity in Lust because he felt bad for sinners, and he just was killed by Gabriel easily. I could understand if you named Sisyphus a hero, because he raised a insurrection against Heaven and kicked angels ass, and he died happy. But why Minos? Because he came out first, and he have a "banger" theme? Sisyphus also have a banger theme, and he FUCKING KICKS YOUR ASS! Why do everyone disrespects Sisyphus, if he is the most badass man?
@@Sisyphus_PhrimeAs much as I prefer a peaceful renaissance, like in lust, I have to agree, Sisyphus did all he can, to free ALL of the denizens of hell. He's badass, and he's definitely the real hero, even if his attempt failed.
The hardest part of P-ranking Minos was going so fast you didn't reach the requiem motif. If I did reach it I would not be able to see through my tears and be quickly CRUSHed
@@tengo_hambru he's right. you're commenting on a video about a particularly emotional piece of music. if someone wants to express that emotion, piss off and let 'em do it.
the best bit of this for me is when it transitions back into the main driving melody from the start of the piece, it really gives you the sense that though the music has climaxed the fight has only just begun
All of the songs related to King Minos are so good. They manage to combine DnB and classical music in a beautiful symphony. Love em to bits. And Glory is in my top 5.
this is the video that led me down the ultrakill rabbit hole. i now love the game and have beaten both prime sanctums. thank you for introducing me to this fucking masterpiece
@@Magnapinna4096 it took me 2 meme videos to get into the game. I've now P-ranked every pre-act 3 level and still play the game consistently, it's that much of a fucking godsend
ultrakill is the only game where I actually FELT the emotion and intention of a boss that was put in the soundtrack rather than just "oh heres a cool battle music" we get "oh heres a cool battle music that screams out the desperation and sadness of the boss your going to slaughter" its an overall amazing soundtrack and its one that'll put a tear in your eye
@@Vertix07911 When God left, his son has never been the same, when heaven came to find him he was nowhere there for he has turned the sun into a prison and that prison he made for himself.
I loved minoses character and this soundtrack made me love it more, i really wish minos came back as the true final boss because my boy minos deserves to at least be the finale if he isnt gonna get his heroes victory. P-3 *MINOSER PRIMER*
This is tbh why he is my favorite boss , he is fighting for his people , for his lost kingdom, the people who he in his eyes failed and this just is so powerful With how it conveys it , and goes so well with his final words
The thing about ULTRAKILL is that *you* the player play as the main antagonist. You are a lifeless machine designed to kill and do so with extreme efficiency.
The funny thing is that part of the sone always felt like 2 great powers fighting while ascending a tower only to burst out the glass and fly into the sky, taking a small look at the moon before brutally fighting eachother again
This song gives me chills all the time, if you think of Minos sacrificing everything for his people and losing everything. Yet he was brought back to suffer more. He also says "WEAK" to himself when he reaches half health, he means he called himself weak meaning couldnt protect his people.
yeah, same for me. the "WEAK" voiceline i'm pretty sure is directed at you though, but i never thought about it being him saying it to himself. It could be both. as for ORDER, it got really overplayed for a hot minute in the ULTRAKILL community, and for me that ruins the enjoyment i get out of the song. Like Golden Hour, or The world's smallest violin, they both got overplayed so much. and the reason they got overplayed is because they're both great songs, i just wish people would play a different song instead of following a hype train.
Well actually, the main character in ultrakill is Gabriel, v1 is just antagonist, because of GABRIEL lore happened, GABRIEL is the man who made the real ultrakill, v1 is just hungry guy in a food court in hell lololol
You have no idea what a protagonist and antagonist is. It has nothing to do with good or evil. The protagonist is the MAIN CHARACTER of a story, while the antagonist is the one who apposed the protagonist or has goals that go against the protagonist's own goals. Besides, There really isn't any good or evil in Ultrakill(aside from Minos and Sisyphus) Gabriel was upholding the Father's supposed wishes, which were "good", but completely enslaved and ruined an entire kingdom of sinners whose only sin was love, and killed a benevolent, peaceful king to do so. while V1 and the other machines are literally just following their programming. It's all different shades of grey. Hell, even the things Minos and Sisyphus did aren't absolutely Black and White. Minos went against the very purpose of hell to establish his own rule and give peace and freedom to the sinners of Lust, many of whom were most likely there for giving into some rather awful paraphilias that caused harm to others. Sisyphus, despite being the horrible, power hungry, war mongering maniac he is, managed to rally an entire army of soldiers through honor and respect rather than fear and hatred.
@@KH0RNE well my friend. It kind of did, as it only didn't get me invested on ULTRAKILL, but also in Breakcore, which made me like and acknowledge the genre along with it's (probably) most popular artist. So yeah, it's basically your fault that I'm a Sewerslvt fan.
This song makes me want too save people from being tortured for eternity and build a giant purple city to protect them and care for every person there.
ay the minos grindset is nothing to scoff at, that dude is quite respectable. he went from the strict judge of the lust layer to openly caring for a community, biggest redemption arc in hell, and then died fighting the opressive gabriel. dude's a fucking based legend.
@@Moonvey he actually says "O gabriel... now dawns thy reckoning! AND THY GORE SHALL GLISTEN! BEFORE THE TEMPLES OF MAN.." I'm not sure he wanted to talk it out, he might be a lil mad.
@@KH0RNE Sadly he underestimated the power of V1 ultrakill and died knowing he couldn’t save his people again but atleast he died peacefully to go on as… idk a spirit? a Soul survivor?
Truly a "I am the last one remaining, for all of those i have loved and for all of those who i must make proud, shall i fight with all my strength until my body fails" theme
The build up shows us how Minos built the cities and the technology was advancing, the leitmotif was when Gabriel came and ended his journey. Theres so much pain and story in a single leitmotif I can't wrap my head around it.
the guitar isn't being shredded, they're playing a motif that, most people, including me, take as frustrating or tragic. it's a motif from 2-2, and in there it's a violin, so the original emotions of the motif is brought out more in the original requiem.
I went into ultrakill having already heard a little bit of the soundtrack (including order, but not requiem), so when i heard this in 2-2, i genuinely recoiled in suprise and grinned like a little goblin. God i love leitmotifs.
I beat Minos after 83 attempts and I was so glad it was finally over and mad at him the whole time as he kept killing me while on like 5 hp *Then I read the lore behind him* and oh boy after listening to both requiem and hearing this motif in his them *oh* *my* *god* I completely understood his reasoning behind killing me 83 times Never have I felt bad for a video game character, but holy crap dude Minos easily the definition of “the hero that isn’t the player”
ITS FUCKING INCREDIBLE, this motif of requiem appear in a well orchestrated, and shows the pain minos has gone through, trying to make peace got killed, and now sseeing a part of him destroy what he made and was building for possible years to house the inhabitans of lust layer, its just fucking magical! i feel so fucking sad and feell the pain of minoes hearing this FUCKING GREAT AND BEAUTIFUL PART, GOD THE MUSIC IS SO FUCKING AWESOME!

When listening to order, I remembered that in this game, we aren't some sort of hero, we are the villian, we came down to hell to crush everything in our sight, and gabriel and minos try to stop us, but when divided, we win the battle, none were there to stop our win against the world itself, and to think that the scientists who created v1 thought that for the price of x50 security drones was too much for the mass production they would do on these things, yet the prototype itself, kills every single soul left, death in hell is a gift, but there are some souls left by the massacre, the trees of 7-3 the trees are souls who tried to escape, but never could, the mannequins atleast were given the gift of death in hell, but the trees are forced to stay there,
