Wow, I love watching your videos. They are always a work of art. The music, the visually beautiful scenery inside and outside. The amazing gorgeous food and your calming voice. Thank you for transporting all of us to your magical oasis.🙏❤️
Hey mate just be careful with that wood fired oven, it's sitting directly on wood chips and as you left it unattended to preheat there were burning pieces of wood almost falling out on to the ground. I would recommend putting down a stone floor so you don't accidentally start a fire. Much love bro! 🙏
What I love about your cooking is that it’s not vegan cooking that happens to taste good, it’s nutritious meals made with love, using what you grow in your garden, which just happens to be vegan as well. Thank you for all the meal inspiration!
Gaz I have been watching you for over 5 years now and have seen you evolve into this magnificent person and marvelous chef , I have been on and off with my Vegan journey and have found it hard at times but you have alway inspired me and helped me get back on track, I appreciate you soooo very much, wish I could just spend a day with you learning and vibing. Thanks for all you do peace and love 🤟✌️🌻
I am, apparently, a collinary expert and use sumak a lit. Mostly for my lunch falafel wraps. Shredded red cabbage, sliced red onions, parsilly, lemon juice, olive oil and sumak with falafel and chili hummus. Ad chili for your liking
The cornstarch (corn flour) reaction was very relatable! Same thing happens to me! It's that dry squeaky quality that just makes my nerves stand on end...blech Also, everything looks delicious! I've had a jar of pomegranate molasses in the back of the cupboard for a while. This video has inspired me to use it!
To see how you've evolved Gaz is a pleasure. You have a natural skill which is rare, good on you for living the dream 😊 keep up the amazing content loving it 🥰 where do you get alot of your inspiration?
When I saw your Instagram stories featuring my birthplace 🇯🇲 Jamaica , I had to give you a shout out in my recent video. I love your content and your appreciation for natural living. BTW.. ❤your new kitchen and everything in it. It inspired me to paint the lower cabinets in our Airbnb green 🤗. Great content and thanks for the inspiration!
I don’t think most modern people realize how comfortable wearing braces can be especially when gardening. Dude. I totally get the creeps with corn flour ( we call it starch here) same thing happens with pulling apart a Brillo pad or the cotton inside medice jars. Just thinking about it makes my spine shiver. I have no clue why that happens.
That tempeh looking like a damn flavor explosion, incredibly impressive. The contrast of all that seasoning and sauce on the outside with the rich white of the tempeh on the inside when you cut it (15:42) is mouthwatering.
Love how your kitchen looks like, especially with the green stove! I like how Tom is able to capture everything so professionally. But I miss Olli! Is he still filming with you? And what about Marcus?
I adore tempeh. I used to culture it myself but I wasn't always able to ensure consistent results that I liked so I switched to making Natto instead. There is nothing like excellently cooked tempeh 🙂
there is so much art in your craft, from the cooking, to the different angles, the sound of the guitar, and just you as human. always a pleasure watching.
Hi Gaz! Thanks for the vid! I really enjoy your recipes but it's also fascinating to watch your journey towards self-sufficiency. I'm learning a lot :)
That Brownie looks insane! Definitely going to give it a go. Although be careful with the medicinal mushrooms, some of them I've tried before have given me insomnia 😬
Need more videos like this! Trying to pack in calories and protein as someone who is plant based can sometimes be challenging. I'd love a video like this but quick meals/snacks. ☺️
Omg I can’t touch corn starch it makes my teeth grind. So glad I’m not the only one! 😅 I’m losing weight on a low fat Whole Foods vegan diet now. I look forward to maintaining on a diet similar to yours, super full of flavor but very whole foods forward.
You know what? It's a bliss watching your videos. Yea, the storytelling, editing and the cinematic look is amazing, BUT your happiness and excitement about what you do, the little jumps and dances in between, are what's so intoxicating about your videos. I rewatched the moment in 16:05 three times. Thanks for sharing your passion. It's contagious!
Living in Bali, Indonesia - Tempeh is my number one protein! I have just planted some non-GMO soybeans with the goal to make my own soon! These two menus combine my most favourite foods - coriander/cilantro, tempeh and brownies! I will be saving this and trying as soon as I can!
I'll never understand how you're not a household name world-wide. LOVE your videos, they're like short films. Always recommending the longer form tour of Wales that you did a few years back. So good!! Question about tempeh: I was taught to blanch it a bit before using but I'm not sure what the reason was (bad memory!) . Have you ever heard this?
I like your outfit Gaz, it was interesting that you called your suspenders, braces. I’m just beginning this video, but I look forward to your content. I’ve finished the video and the food looked fantastic, the tempe looked excellent. The brownies looked great too, maple is a great sweetener and gives extra calories, agave could probably also be used. The pistachios and hazelnuts would be great and for the brain some walnuts could be added for people who like them. Those could also be turned into bars and wrapped for easy on the go grab snacks. All in all this was a great episode and the food looked delicious.
Question for Mr Oakley @GazOakley: on your website, the recipe says 3 tbs of vanilla essence, which seems a lot, yet you didn't seem to add any at all in the video. What should I do? Please advise. (I'm making the brownies today.) EVERYTHING about this video is just wonderful: your house, your clothes, your food, the music, the beautiful Welsh countryside. Many thanks to you and Mr Kong.
This all looks sooo amazingly delicious!!! Great photography. Your kitchen is beautiful. You are an incredible human being. Thank you for this feast for the soul.❤
I’m catching up on these videos. What a find this channel is. Everything is well done. Food looked incredible. The videography and music is truly top tier.
I found interesting everything you show. What a beautiful soul you are! But what a pitty! You ruined the tempeh. There was no need to put it in the oven outside. You overcooked it! And, it is not healthy cooked like this. This is a very friendly remark. Ciao
Honestly, since seeing this video, this meal has been on my weekly rotation ❤️ (and I’ve only set off the smoke alarm once so far ☺️, that sauce 🤯) I would love to frequent a restaurant with a 2 seater low top in your garden 100%, that would be incredible!!!!
Hi Gaz, silly question: do you have any recommendations on vegan clothing brands? Your boots look amazing! My biggest issue since going vegan is finding decent clothes (I work in a corporate environment and suits + formal shoes are required). Thank you and thanks to anyone else who can help!
I'm postponing every one of my plans this week to make both of these. The recipes alone are incredible but the gorgeous video you've produced/directed and your passion makes me so inspired Gaz. I'm in love with everything you make.
I am Indonesian, and my love for tempeh is off the charts. We love it so much and becomes our staple food. Always love your videos and your garden is so amazing!
I'm going to make the tempeh recipe soon. I have an excellent vegetable garden this year, all ready right now. I find myself going back and forth trying to find your ingredients on Amazon and my Asian grocer. You're brave enough to wear white and cream colours while cooking. My clothes would be covered, but you are the professional. Excellent video.
Gaz you dont come off like blowing your own trumpet at all. It is great that you challenge yourself to try new things and see how it works. When it does, it's a celebration!!
Coriander aversion is genetic - it truly tastes like soap for some people. Not me 😂It’s the one herb I’ve struggled to grow, repeatedly! Always goes to bolt so fast (in Western Australia).
Ooooo Welsh cheeses are supreme . Especially the one from Teifi Cheese, as it is made from raw milk. Full of fermentation, bacteria, fungi, and enzymes
I can't touch cornflour either, it gives me the shivers. I thought it was just me lol. Your food always looks amazing, I grow a lot of my veg too, so satisfying. 11 years Vegan.
Why not try a seasonal restaurant with a very similar vibe to your kitchen. You can have people waitlist for it and allow a certain amount of people at the restaurant. I think that would be great because you won’t have that massive pressure of having to keep the restaurant going all year round.
I can totally relate relate to this because couple of years ago I was going through so much - so many things kept happening at one after the other, and I just couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying constantly - while meditating, while working out, while walking down the street, while cooking, while sleeping, etc.… I was also doing all the things - meditating, yoga, doing therapy, etc.… Eventually, I got better and things are good now, but in the words of Kathleen Cameron “I am grateful, but never satisfied”. So I continue to work on myself and things get better and better.
I would love to see more fitness dishes for sure! Maybe categorise it by difficulty and time? Or even a live timed video or livestream? Keep it up mate been watching you for a while!
I have real issues with certain textures to! eeek I get your feelins about cornflour. I have the same just about other things. I just dont like the feel. Your life is inspiring at least how you portray. Makes me want to garden 😊🥰
Your passion for food and Nature's bounty is so contagious, Gaz. It is made even more special by seeing your self-love, I think that we forget to be kind to ourselves by making something delicious and nutrious and made with kindness and compassion. ❤ Wish you had a restaurant in Barcelona (or anywhere), but I will be making these recipes to enjoy - I may or may not be willing to share with friends.
It makes me absolutely crazy when people think they have scarf down animal corpses to get in shape. Vegan men are not only in better physical shape, they are also conscientious and compassionate.
