Mr Greene was heart broken that his 4 of his "brothers " weren't there to share this special moment with him....RIP to Dwight White, Ernie Holmes, LC Greenwood, and Steve Furness
@@spanky3086 Bob Labriola wrote a fantastic article about who was the "best" Steeler. His choice of Joe Greene and the in depth reasoning behind it made me change my mind. Sorry I'm two years late on this!..lol...Slow day at work. If I find it I will post it for you.
As a Pittsburgh Steeler fan I idolized Joe Green as a kid.. I went out and purchased an authentic Joe Greene Jersey back in 1975... as an adult now I still have that Jersey
Respect, to bad there is isnt many people out there like you, all they do is run their mouths saying we suck & much more, but very few people like you so I tip my hat off to you
@@mikeda1345 you guys arent the Cowboys, Seahawks or Raiders. I mean, both our teams historically have rivialries with 2 out of 3 of those teams. I dont think any Niners fan has any animosity towards the Steelers at all.
Mean Joe is pure class. I was very, very young when I watched him play and he was my dad's favorite player. How blessed I am to have had the opportunity to watch him win four super bowls. He defined what a Steeler is, and is a first rate class act. Thanks Mean Joe for everything.
Best defensive lineman ever.He played over half his career with one arm due to injury and still dominated double teams. Before his injury three guys were not enough to block him.
Hands down the #1 Steeler all time! Thought we have had MANY other greats just below him on the mountain with him...As a lifelong Steeler fan I am glad that equal attention if not most has always been placed on Defense!
With all of the superstars and Hall of Famers that have come out of the Steelers organization, who else is on the Joe Greene level to have his number retired? That's why they need to win at least one more ring. One more Superbowl, and maybe Roethlisberger gets to this level. A another Lombardi could elevate Tomlin to Hall of Fame level, and maybe Cam Heyward and TJ Watt as well. There's still Time to Be Great, they just can't squander it.
Heyward isn't anywhere near being a Hof player ,and Watt definitely needs to accomplish more then what he's achieved before that's a conversation .Where were both gentlemen inthe embarrassing playoff loss vs the Browns last year ? Watt dosent have a post season career sack yet ,and Heyward hasn't been a major impact player in any post season his entire career .Both are very good but not Hof esque Great Players . Your Tomlin analogy has merit towards it ,his pronounced problem is he's basically hit his ceiling as a coach , he's now lost 3 consecutive playoff games twice ,lost 3 out of his last 4 home playoff games ,all vs opponents they were favored ! Only a career post season 8-8 record ,only Steelers coach to lose a playoff game to a division foe ,he's accomplished that notorious feat twice ,both at Heinz Field .The bunglers 2015 meltdown kept it from being 3 loses to a division foe . Only 3 playoff wins inthe last ten years despite having at periods having a Hof QB,WR ,Best multifaceted RB, " Bell" excellent defense ,and he has failed to maximize his talent .Please spare me the " he's never had a losing season" with his abundance of excellent talent ,he's not suppose to have a losing season record.on his resum'e . He's never made consecutive conference championship game appearances like Noll and Cowher despite having a Hof QB his entire career ,never made post season or a conference championship game with a QB who wasn't the one he won a SB with ,again both Noll and Cowher have achieved that goal ,so the 2019 season that Roethlisburger missed 15 games isn't a exscuse for Tomlin . He's underachieved for ten years ,facts ,and if he can't defeat a Browns team missing it's regular head coach ,best offensive tackle ,starting cb ,in a home playoff game then he's not going to get back to another SB .
