Hiking to the remote Meanach Bothy starting from Kinlochleven. The Meanach Bothy lays in the heart of Scotland and can be approached from Corrour , Glen Nevis or Kinlochleven.
"Meanach bothy has been in the care of the MBA since it’s renovation in 1977. Situated at approximately 1,000 feet above sea level and with a potentially difficult river crossing at the Abhainn Rath, this remote bothy can be challenging to reach at times." - Mountain Bothies Association

Myself and two mates walked to meanach bothy on the same route....but we couldn't get across the river because the snow was melting and it was in spate, after contemplating breaking into a boat house to shelter in....we decided to walk back. We were met at 12.00 midnight at the car by a mountain rescue team member who lived opposite the car park and was worried when he saw head torches. He directed us to the hostel, which we ended up staying in for free as there was no warden to take our money, it was a bit of an epic trip, we were exhausted, and the weather was wild, not like on your trip 🤣 awesome video 👍🏻

I’m planning a 4 day trip to start in Fort William, climb Ben Nevis and then walk east climbing the Aonachs and grey corries. I’ll do a bivvy camp along the way but the Meanach Bothy looks like a good place to stay on the second night. The Abhainn Rath didn’t look too deep where you crosssed but as I’ll need to cross it on my 3rd day I might take some other shoes as I don’t want wet shoes! I’m going to climb all the Mamores on the way back. Thanks for filming the Bothy!

My favourite one because I personally love munro toping around Loch Monar and Loch Mullardoch .. I had to discard hike this year because of a knee injury but the plan was 80 miles around Loch Monar on the northern ridge (Sgurr a' Chaorachain) then south (via Maol Bhuide) to Loch Mullardoch and Cairn Eige ridge back to Glen Strathfarrar .. I was there last year but we had to change a plan due to the "Mordor weather" so we went from Maol Bhuide to Falls of Glomach and then back to Strathcarron and didn't finish full circle around Loch Mullardoch back to Glen Strathfarrar.

I didn't see what trail runners you were wearing. The BOAs for closing them would make me very concerned. I have seen those breaking in bike races (crashes) so often that I would not want to rely on them in the wilderness. They also take not well to any dirt getting into them. I cannot count how often I have replaced them on my winter cycling shoes. Hit a rock with them and they are done with no way to fix your shoe while you are on the go. I'm sure you always have some Paracord with you that can replace shoe laces but not so with the BOAs.
