Measuring Oil Extraction Tube For Crossfire and Other Cars 

I can tell you for certain that the dipstick reaches the bottom of the pan in the Crossfire, or maybe I just got lucky. I know that because my pump pulled 8.5 quarts out of it. At the very end I did twist the tube a bit and pushed it in maybe another 1/2" just to make sure it wasn't curled up on the end and to be sure it was in the bottom of the pan. As soon as I started to feel resistance I didn't push any farther. I suspect the Lexus will be the same and I will find out Friday. My friend who is buying the car wants to be here when I do the oil change and install the new trunk struts and we have scheduled that for Friday. Glad you are enjoying the videos. I love our Crossfires. P.S. I restored a 65 Mustang Fastback a few months ago and before I installed the oil pan I put the dipstick in and it went to the bottom of the pan, or at least it seemed to. As long as you are pumping the oil into a measurable container, you can tell if the tube is at the bottom of the pan by how much oil you pull out. If you don't get it all then you just push the oil extraction tube a little farther down the dipstick hole and you can feel it.
