Rick and Jeremiah setup and test the Oehler System 89. It is designed to measure in real time your ballistic coefficient. Proving that BC's are dynamic.
Indeed he is a legend! I have always enjoyed his articles as well and I can't tell you how much I have learned over the years! Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! --Jeremiah
What amazed me about that was the fact that the system recorded that so well! I unfortunately botched the rest of the shots and turned in a mediocre group! Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment though we great appreciate it!! --Jeremiah
What a boring way to spend a day! Outside, shooting guns in PJ country with mountains in the background. Couldn't you find anything else better to do? In all seriousness, this was well done and I learned something new. Thank you!
It a rough job but someone has to do it! Thank you for the kind words and the feedback we greatly appreciate it and are looking forward to using this system more in the future! --Jeremiah
Indeed it would and honestly the time it saves walking down range to check the target when shooting long range makes it a worthwhile investment as well. At the ranges we were shooting there was no way to see the impacts on paper even with a 50x spotting scope. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! --Jeremiah
Cool.. while far more info than I will likely need. Nice to learn a bit about it in case there ever is. I have always enjoyed reading Rick's Articles.. Well Done Here By All
It is pretty interesting stuff, definitely high level stuff but its all good to know especially for those interested in long range. We have this system in our testing arsenal now and I am sure we'll be using it more in the future. Perhaps for recording cast bullets BC and stuff of that nature. Thank you for the kind words and taking the time to watch and comment! --Jeremiah
Really cool system. The Swiss use something similar, the mikes are inside of the target frame, and triggered by mikes at the firing point and displays your shots on a screen at the shooting point and prints out your points during a match.
Indeed the accuracy in which this system can measure and calculate the BC, time of flight, impact on the target is simply amazing. I am unfamiliar with the Swiss system but it also sounds pretty neat. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! --jeremiah
From my wifes phone. This the most interesting video I have seen in a long time. Used system 43 for the last 30 years. Also converted mine for indoor use and also can be used outside. Only must use incandescent elimination for indoor use. Very nice video. If I were to puchase the system 89, can I use the system 43 sky screens? Would this reduce the price? Sorry that was system 35p.
Thank you very much for the kind words, we are glad to hear you found the video informative and interesting. Not too many people can say they have had a lot of time behind the system 43. We love that we can offer information at a high level that folks such as yourself find informative and interesting. I think the 35P skyscreens would work so long as you plug them into the box and set the parameters correctly I think it's the same technology but I would still check with Oehler and find out as for reducing the price I would ask them as well. They are really good folks and are outstanding at what they do. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah
When measuring the BC you enter the atmospheric conditions into the program itself so you can check the BC under whatever circumstances or atmospheric conditions you like. This is especially helpful if you want to check BC for a certain conditions and see how it effects the BC. Great question thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! --Jeremiah
I agree in full with that! We have this system in our arsenal for testing now so I am sure we'll be using it more often in the future! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! --Jeremiah
