Everybody does a meat cut test with a really tight cotton shirt or a piece of denim stretched really tight over a piece of meat, That's not realistic, unless you're a girl, who wears really tight clothes. most men wear comfortable (loose fitting) clothes which are much more difficult to get a good wound channel on because the material bunches ups and moves with the knife, lessening the cut. you should do a much more realistic cut test like that. it would be way more impressive and realistic

As stated in the video, we usually do. But time and material at our disposal before the video didn’t allow us for the optimal setting. Regardless it’s meant to show any cut. You don’t have loose fitting clothing over your forearms, neck, or face. A more realistic cutting demo is to use an animal or cadaver. We can only make it so realistic before people get upset. Thank you for the input though. We will do better at prep next time.

After rereading the comment, I would take a look at your cutting technique or knife. We have never had an real issue with material bundling up. Even men have tighter clothing around their chest, thighs, arms, etc. unless it’s winter. Which isn’t a gender thing, just a material thing. That is why we advocate stabbing techniques with c cuts to establish good trauma on the initial hit. We will do a more thorough video soon to demo what I’m trying to say. It may be placed on our website due to restrictions on RU-vid though. I agree that more cuts, and different variations of clothing would make for a more thorough demo of what will happen. @@EliteYouChannellike you said not many knives that are actually small enough to comfortably carry concealed are going to be able to just go through any and all clothing situations so location and technique are crucial. Where I live is shorts and tshirt weather 9 months out of the year and even a baggy Tshirt won't protect much against a dedicated thrust and will be irrelevant on attacks to the arms, neck, groin, or knee bend

For real. For a self defense combat knife it needs to be demoed on ballistics gel or meat and needs to have clothing simulations that include loose flowing material or baggy parts etc so you know you are doing more than just cutting their jeans going for the knee bend for example

good demo guys I laughed when he used the tac pen. looks like that would deaminate the corpse. I like how just a light slash went so deep. But my favorite was the stab with the twist pull out like real life salute from a old vet .

@@EliteYouChannel I teach self defense and tbh the mdv with rhino sheath has always been a wish list item bc I wear gym shorts 80-90% of the time and while I carry a crkt minimalist Bowie on my keys and a cold steel folder on my waistband I really have been wanting something like and mdv that will sit in the waistband comfortably and be easy to get to and all the knives I've tried to secure to my shorts waistband have been too bulky, the sheath won't secure the way I want, or deployment will be too finicky (suck as with the folder having to retrieve , clear, and deploy compared to pocket) I'm very excited to finally try this puppy out bc I've legit wanted one since I saw the video he did with icy Mike

Nice! Would like to see as you mentioned in another comment a possible pig cadaver as other demos have shown. An interesting experience is hog hunting with a blade. Though the size of the MDV wouldn’t be optimal for a quick kill. lol The end advertising was great lol.

Excellent suggestion. We would have to place that within our EliteYou.com video database. The best we can do is get one of those ballistic dummies and attempt to cut on that. Cutting any animal on RU-vid would probably get us in trouble. It’s why we have stayed away from filming our wet cutting demos for the military. We will do more research to see if we could do a video like that without someone screaming about mutilating an animal’s body or something dumb like that… 🤦‍♂️

We have video of pig hunting using the MDV. I’ll see if we can cut it up and use it for a future video. We do our best to not get flagged by RU-vid or reported by those who don’t like our kind of content. But if it’s able to be placed here without issue, we have no problem posting it.

It was meant for the CQB environment and placing on your plate carrier for military personnel. I have found many of our clients have used it as a primary knife for killing during pig hunts. I will see what pictures and videos we have for both blades for that purpose and I’ll try to link a Dropbox somewhere for viewing.
