The moral inconsistency of people in their argument is actually a reflection of our laws in a carnist society. Remember, it's illegal to do cruel acts against dogs and cats in people's houses but if they are pigs, cows and chickens on a farm for money, their wellbeing doesn't matter. Even if you take a cow out of a factory farm and on green pastures, they still have to go to a slaughter house if you want to eat her.

@arioca Ok, then how about lets have a real discussion. Maybe you can answer some of these REAL vegan critiques? Please explain to me how killing a million insects or more to fund your salad habit to be a vegan is better in any way (health, nature etc) than just eating unfertilized eggs from pet chickens that you love and would never harm? Thats what I do. Or could you possibly explain why Faux leather, which turns into microplastics in the sea, is better than biodegradable leather? The cow can die a natural death. You can still get leather. No toxic chemicals or even murder needed! You kill more animals driving to work than I do to eat a meat based diet. I kill 1 bison a year, feeds the entire family too, so its only 1/4 death for each of us. LOL. How many bugs hit your windshield this morning?
@lorraineraven3836
@lorraineraven3836 18 часов назад
@@Dylitube Raising animals for food and leather requires huge amounts of feed, pastureland, water, and fossil fuels. Animals on factory farms produce 130 times as much excrement as the entire human population, without the benefit of waste treatment plants. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has even acknowledged that livestock pollution is the greatest threat to our waterways. Although some leather makers deceptively tout their products as “eco-friendly,” turning skin into leather also requires massive amounts of energy and dangerous chemicals, including mineral salts, formaldehyde, coal-tar derivatives, and various oils, dyes, and finishes, some of them cyanide-based. Most leather produced in the U.S. is chrome-tanned, and all wastes containing chromium are considered hazardous by the EPA. Tannery waste contains large amounts of pollutants, such as salt, lime sludge, sulfides, and acids. The process of tanning stabilizes the collagen or protein fibers in skins so that they stop biodegrading-otherwise, the leather would rot right in your closet. People who work in and live near tanneries suffer, too. Many die of cancer possibly caused by exposure to toxic chemicals used to process and dye the leather. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that the incidence of leukemia among residents in an area near one tannery in Kentucky was five times the U.S. average. Arsenic, a common tannery chemical, has long been associated with lung cancer in workers who are exposed to it on a regular basis. Studies of leather-tannery workers in Sweden and Italy found cancer risks “between 20% and 50% above [those] expected.” In addition, raising the animals whose skin eventually becomes leather requires vast quantities of water and wide tracts of pastureland, which must be cleared of trees. In fact, in the last half century, 70 percent of the Amazon rainforest has been cleared to make way for pastures or for growing feed crops. This mass deforestation causes habitat loss for millions of species, eliminates the Earth’s tree canopy, and drives climate change. Animal agriculture and its methane- and nitrous oxide-rich products, including leather, are leading contributors to climate change. Runoff from feedlots and dairy farms also creates a major source of water pollution. Leather has one of the greatest impacts on eutrophication of all materials used for fashion, a serious ecological problem in which runoff waste creates an overgrowth of plant life in water systems, which suffocates animals by depleting oxygen levels in the water and is the leading cause of hypoxic zones, also known as “dead zones.” The EPA has confirmed that factory farms account for 70 percent of the water pollution in the U.S. By some estimates, animal agriculture is responsible for more greenhouse gases than all of the world’s transportation systems combined. Huge amounts of fossil fuels are consumed in livestock production as well, and cow-derived leather has almost three times the negative environmental impact as its synthetic counterparts, including polyurethane (PU) leather. The production of leather hurts animals, the environment, and the workers who manufacture it. The only ones who benefit are people who profit from the misery and suffering of others. Thankfully, there are plenty of sustainable vegan leather options to choose from today that mimic the properties of leather without the cruelty to animals or environmental devastation. And there is lab grown leather that does'nt involve the exploitation and use of animals in any way at all. Maybe do your research instead of trolling vegan channels with your uneducated nonsense.

Why would any sane farmer or person let 1.2 million eggs a year go to waste to be a vegan? Let all the starving children die because of your vegan religion and just let all those eggs go to waste? If light grey went vegan, the darker shirt would defs try to stop lighter shirt, or keep convincing them to be like him. Lighter grey shirt looks like he would go vegan if he didn't have dark blue hoodie holding him back from growth. The blue hoodie shirt person was using whataboutism & fallacies like crazy, & can't win the moral/ethical argument so they argue EVERYTHING else. Grey shirt recognizes, & is almost there. I wish Ed brought up vegetarianism is far worse & I'd argue go vegan & why vegetariansim is worse & why. Dark blue hoodie also keeps trying to take more space, physically overtaking light grey shirt. A stronger argument would be to use a voting analogy. For example, imagine you're a Trump supporter, and you know Biden is almost certainly going to win. Would you still cast your vote for Trump? Most likely, yes, because even if it doesn't change the outcome, you want to stand by what you believe is right. Similarly, choosing to go vegan isn't just about immediate change-it's about aligning your actions with your values, regardless of the larger outcome.

@Dylitube 17 часов назад
@@chrissiehorsley304 well thats maybe true. You can live MORE healthily by eating eggs and salmon roe and ghee. to be fair, i agree its not a diet. its a weird religion. also, the health problem is less the lack of animal foods and the increase in chemicals, fertilizers, plastics and dead soil. that being said, salmon roe is infinitely better for you than flax seeds. and why can't you eat an unfertilized egg or fermented milk, nothing is being harmed, tortured or killed? You are killing insects to grow the veggies, and you are killing other plants (weeds). Its not even morally superior. So at the end of the day you kill more stuff and you are less healthy. I don't see the point of it. Could you enlighten me? Plus, if you are a fan of spinach or kale, you really should add a little kefir to "cream" it. If you dont, then you are essentially poisoning yourself with oxalates. All you have to do is add a little bit of dairy and boom its healthy for you. Since I know you won't do that, PLEASE at least add some mustard seeds and lemon to it and never eat them raw.
@davidfalson7723
@davidfalson7723 14 часов назад
@@Dylitube If you are being genuine when you say "could you enlighten me", I would suggest watching videos of dairy cows and the egg industry. You may not have seen this footage before based on the statement "nothing is being harmed, tortured, or killed". Male chicks are useless in the egg industry and are thus macerated and minced up alive within minutes of being born. Dairy cows have their calves taken away from them seconds after giving birth and they are forcably impregnated by us humans year after year in order for us to steal their milk (not to mention their premature death when they are sent to slaughter because they no longer produce enough milk to be profitable). You also mention that insects and plants are still being killed regardless, which is true, but when you think about the fact that most of the crops we produce are used specifically to feed animals being bred into existence by us humans, by arguing that we should reduce the amount of plants we kill, you are actually advocating for plant-based nutrition and veganism anyway (since more plants are killed for the purpose of animal feed). Again, if you are being genuine, I recommend watching Ed's TedX Talk called Every Argument Against Veganism.

I have to clarify that veganism isn't "better" and eating animal products "ok". Eating animal products is incredibly cruel and wrong and veganism is ok. Veganism isn't even good yet. We should try to communicate that more clearly, since people don't want to do something wrong way more than they want to do something good. So becoming vegan isn't acting even better, it's acting in an acceptable way for the first time in your life.
