Oh my, this is worth its weight in gold! Arguably the closest we'll get to being in that little room at the Ansonia with the two of them. They could have done the whole Bat album with just Meat's voice and Jim on piano, and it still would have been epic. All the chills, all the goosebumps and all the tears watching this...and I love Jim's shoes! Thank you for sharing this gem!
As much as I adore the full ML treatment with his fab musicians and backup singers, there is something really special about “just” ML, Jim and a piano. Similar to MLs performance of the National Anthem, the simplicity and complexity just shine. Thank you!
Frigging Jim Steinman, piano-playing genius. Makes me miss my adolescence. How often did I sit in my room and sing along to those two? And the piano sounds exactly like on the album. And Jim lip-synching while playing. Priceless! I owe them a great debt.
