Absolutely! Now at 68 yo, I remember Meat Loaf singing this great song live in concert in 1977 in Toronto, Canada. He was a rock/opera powerhouse vocalist! What an artist, a true LEGEND!! May he RIP. 🙏 ❤
This is my absolute favourite Meat Loaf single. So many summer memories. So much laughter and crying, dancing and kissing to this song. Rest in peace. ♡
Rest In Peace brother. Not the matinee idol looks, as you put it, but damn what a voice. With the help of Jim, you created one of the greatest albums ever!!! We lost a legend today. 🙏
I think my top 4 front men in history are Freddie mercury, meatloaf, Maynard from tool and elvis. I've never seen crowds controlled as ruthlessly as those guys could.
His music expressed what every teen was feeling back then 🌹 Listening now brings me right back aaahhh Love 💕💕💕 What a Gift he left us All! RIP Meatloaf
Yes, especially here that applies. His dad was horrible. He had to fight hard to get his music heard. He couldn't find anyone to believe a fat kid, could sell concerts tickets.
Saddened to hear the big man is gone physically. Iwas 19 when this man helped make the 70`s a great decade, Wild and free. If only i could go back to that era now Thank you Meatloaf
Meat had a voice like no other, I'm 59 and the music he and and Jim Steinman created together are a huge part of the hits that created the soundtrack to my life and for the people in my generation. He took us from teenagers well into our adult years, all the way back to Rocky Horror up until now. His music will be loved by future generations as well!
I'm 26, I remember being 10 years old in my dad's car when he was in a shop, I thought I'd put one of his cds in, it was the bat out of hell album, been hooked ever since. Meat Loaf is the reason I love all types of rock music, and he has had such a huge influence on what I listen to. May he rest in peace 🙏 Legend.
@@thomasbroomfield5871 I'm glad to hear that younger generations have found him and enjoy him. He was a wild, theatrical and over the top full energy showman, especially in his younger days when he was a big man and got the nickname meat loaf because of it. If you can, look up some of his old concert footage from that first tour, it's amazing and powerful stuff live!
Another thing really special to guys my age is that we were teenagers and we truly were experiencing "paradise by the dashboard lights" when the song came out! 😉 Wonderful memories...
As Meatloaf said, he was an actor who could sing. He is permanently on my playlist, but every now and then, I have to see him in a live video to recall his passion on stage. RIP Meatloaf, may your songs never die.
My disabled mother, despite barely being able to speak a full sentence uninterrupted, can sing along to Meatloaf and Queen word for word. Singing along the way you'd expect a teenager from the 70's to do so (loud and enthusiastic).
RIP Legend please get his channel trending. So sad may he sing and be in peace in heaven and I grew up listening to meatloaf from my parents. Great voice and great songs. Rip
@@arapahosundancer that would be wild. Right. Another blast from the past You took the words right outta my mouth, Ohh🎤 It must've been when you were kissing me. Also Paradise by the dashboard light. Oh you gotta do what you can and let mother nature do the rest, well we were merely 17 and we were barely dressed. Love them and him. REST PEACEFULLY SEATED AT THE RIGHT HAND OF OUR DEAR FATHER GOD 🙏🏻 IN HEAVEN ABOVE 💋💋💋💋✌️
How many generations must suffer through adolescence without Meatloaf? May his music forever be a pillar for teenage emotions that are as powerful and mysterious as his music.
Well....we just had it better. Any type of music was played and more freedom to try different things. Since what 2000. The new music has no where to go..hence all these shows that have new singers singing old songs ect. We win. Now im stopping my babbling and go reenjoy this somg cause this just drips hot summer nights.
RIP to my childhood, to the days of incredible music and even more incredible musicians. These are times that when we lose people like this, I lose a piece of myself as well. May our fractured memories rest in peace with the incredible people that gave them to us.
Same here sandy .. makes you feel old lol . First cassette I bought for my car when I passed my test . Driving about at all hours blasting the legend out 🙂
I’m 56. Went through the album on record, cassette and I don’t know how many cd’s I’ve worn out of it, maybe 3 😊 RIP Meat. Now you’re reunited with Jim, and your parents ✝️
Same here I'm 56 I was at boarding school when it was released. We had it one cassette, by the end of the year we'd knackered about copies of it. It's still in my all time top 10 albums of all time. There's not one weak song on the whole album.
Now that's what I call a tune! Take note modern day musicians, music is suppose to be fun, joyous, uplifting and doesn't take itself too seriously. Thanks Meatloaf for the memories, rest in peace big guy 🙏
This album has everything… so many memories from my school days in the 1980,s always makes me smile .. thanks for the great music meat loaf .. A true legend will miss you man x
My mom rocked this album on 8-track in our family station Wagon for my whole childhood! So now I can sing like every old Meatloaf song! My friends think I'm crazy but meatloaf rocks! I'll always be a fan and think of my mom whenever I hear it! She's a BADASS too! 🎉😂😂😂😊🎉
Brilliant songwriting by Jim Steinman. Not only can Meatloaf sing but he understands the material. Like he and Jim were one. It takes a special combination of people to pull these off. Brilliant.
The Dashboard Light has dimmed 😭. RIP to a true legend. Thank you for the great music and all the memories Big Guy. Forever a rock n roll legend. What he gave this world with his music, voice, personality and passion will forever be a gift that will keep giving. I loved his music as a young boy, and as I was growing up realized his music was not just awesome and fun, but also a great stress reducer. I can not tell you how many times I’d play his music, throw back my head, close my eyes and just let his passionate voice run through my soul. It’s the best form of meditation i’ve ever experienced, and that’s the amazing gift Meatloaf left us all with. Thank you for being such a huge part of my childhood, as well as my adult life. My love, hugs, thoughts and prayers to his family, and friends, and thank you for sharing this incredible man and his gift with us all.
@@im_a_person_named_gio I love to hear that you are 19 and are getting into the same music that I loved at your same age. When I was 18 to 22 years of age and in college, we literally wore out the grooves on this piece of vinyl while I was in college. My roommate had this huge Pioneer stereo system that he paid like 2,000 bucks for which was a pretty insane sound system back in the late 70's...especially for a college kid. We played this album as loud as that thing would go. When I think back on all the great albums we had at that time, it's unbelievable how great the music was. These were a pretty steady playlist for us in those days: Bat out of Hell...Meatloaf, Breakfast in America...Supertramp, Boston...Boston, The Grand Illusion...Styx, Spectres...Blue Oyster Cult, Live Bullet...Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, Infinity...Journey, Allied Forces...Triumph, The Wall...Pink Floyd. Man the list goes on and on. These albums are all late 70's/early 80's and every one of them are awesome from start to finish. If you are getting into music from this era, you should check any of these out.
RIP Jim steinman, you were a kickass songwriter and you wrote some of the most badass music ever! Edit: RIP meat, now your up there with jim writing killer music while riding out like a bat out of hell
These tunes were the soundtrack to my childhood. My brothers played this album and Bad Attitude as they got ready to out on a Saturday night...it hatched the Rockchick in me!
Saw Meat live in England in 94,96,99, Back when I was 16, 18 and 21. I miss those days, the amount of effort Meat puts into his live shows is incredible. I was deaf and had ringing in my ears for about 3 days after every live event. I must have every album except for Meat Loaf and stoney, I need that. Look at how hard bands worked back then to get famous or recoginised and now you see these manufactured shyte flooding the charts re-releasing old classics that they never wrote and they can't even play instruments.. Where did effort and the love for music go?
To me, meatloaf is the greatest of all time. I’m 29 but was lucky enough to see him in 2013, it may have been at the end of his career but I will forever cherish the fact I got to see him live. I will play this to my future children and grandchildren and meat loaf’s music will live forever ❤️
He is one of the very few who was uber famous and had fallen into near obscurity only to return a decade later Nd have a second completely separate round of complete iconic-ness. Not too many like that. Aerosmith is another. Amazing when you consider 99.999999% of us will never get a first round of fame. Lightning struck twice for this guy, for sure.
@@What-ks9co Without Steinman, Meatloaf is talented but he would not of been famous... Meat's album without Steinman failed miserably... They patched things up later on and Meat sang a few songs from Jim's solo project, "Bad For Good".
Charlie Don't Surf I like to say...meat..tesla..aerosmith..boston...black crows...and guns n roses are just plain out good ol PURE AMERICAN ROCK N ROLL!
My God. I'm listening to this masterpiece on a hot summer night as I have been for many years and my knees are still weak. Soooo good. Thank you so much, Meatloaf. Love you forever.
1 of the best , the talent this man has and his band mates , will live on forever . breaks my hart to hear he is gone . i dont think anyone has put the passion and energy in a show more then this man , rest easy
MeatLoaf will live forever through his amazing music... was a pleasure growing up with this talented singer and his incredible music.. Every kid I knew had The Bat Out Of Hell Album from MeatLoaf.... RIP
Gotta love Meatloaf not for only great music, but you can actually understand all the lyrics in every song. Makes it a helluva lot easier to sing along!!!
Yeah yeah, I was turnin up the stereo, and so was everyone i know, Gosh what i used ta be doin back in those days. We were fallin in love with every movie and song made for us, what we were doin back in those days........ 1984 for me... a bit of Nickel Back. Those Days.
How this man made it to 74, I will never know. If you were lucky enough to see him live back in the late 70s and early 80s, by the ends of his concerts he had given so much of himself he looked like he would drop dead on the spot. He put on some of the greatest concerts I've ever, ever seen. Rest easy, Mr. Loaf.
1974 - 1970s 1980s You are mentally lazy when you cannot manage to write the years correctly. Do you not know how a calendar functions? Besides the 70s was almost 1950 years ago
Wife and I were blessed to see him in the 90’s. Out of the 6-7 bands that night he was by far the best. It was just like the videos. He will be missed. RIP
