The game's okay. Not a fan of the battery-hunting, and I wish that they've just kept it off. Also, I gotta say that there were times that I feel as if the killer was messing with you. Waiting for your character to come out of hiding, before he revs his chainsaw up, just so he can watch you hide back in. XD

That title screen music is ultimate level badass yo! 🎼

I agree with you on there having to be different settings. Just read that this is a gamejam so it makes sense if they didn't have time. The main thing that bugged me were the visual effects, too much going on there. I felt like I was watching through vaseline covered glasses, I took my glasses off to check if they were smudged 😂. I liked the mini puzzles in the game

I like the 80's horror film hommage, the spirit is there. Everything else was a bit much : the darkness and VHS effects made it really difficult to see what was happening at times, the batteries lifespan is very short, and the hide-and-seek mechanic is a bit repetitive. Some easily fixable points for future projects :) Still this was fun, and for a game jam game this is pretty decent.

Interesting choice to make everything either too dark to see or absolutely blinding. The blinding part might be from post, but regardless, I’m left with very sweaty meat.

Too dark and the flashlight too bright when it hits the surfaces, it bothered me. Apart from that, a cool game to pass the time lol

So I looked at the game on Itch and really have to question, how is this game over 4GB big? Like the game doesn't look like it's using a lot of assets such as sound effects and textures (which are the things that take the most space). Heck, a game I'm currently finishing up developing has probably the same number or more assets than this game. and yet my game is only 1.3 GB. Really my only guess is that the developer migrated a lot of assets in order to make the game, but didn't do tricks that prevent Packaging the game with unused assets.

The thing (IMO) that makes a horror game exciting, or interesting, is when the programer adds coding, or behaviors, to the AI, causing them to preform an unexpected action in response to the players actions. Example, Alien Isolation, that game kept you in your toes. Especially, if you'd not played it before. You'd hide in a locker, and the Alien would pass by you. Then you see exit the room you think he's gone, so you exit the locker. Suddenly, you hear him outside the door, so you hide in the locker again, he once again passes by the locker, ignoring you. You think he is about to exit the room, but right at the door, he pauses, sniffs the air, then turns and enters the room again, walks to the locker you're in stops sniffs the air, you all the time holding your breath, and crapping your pants. You're positive he is going to open the door, and kill you. After a second or two he grunts a little turns and slowly exits the room. You and your character, both breath a sigh of relief. You exit the locker, after not hearing him you exit the room into the hall. You feel slightly safer, since he isn't on your scanner, and there is no sound he would normally make heard. You walk cautiously down the hall, thinking you can escape this floor. You see the elevator, you feel much better now, but in your relief, and steady drive to escape, you missed one minor clue, just before the elevator door is a very small puddle from what must condensation from the huge open air exchange above. The puddle is small so you'd almost be forgiven for not noticing it considering the chaotic environment around you. So you walk through it without a second thought, only to suddenly stop and grunt in pain, look down to see a black alien looking appendage protrude from your stomach covered in blood and parts of your intestines. All of that you just experienced, was for the most part unexpected, new, innovative, and scary and hell. All developers should strive to make games like that, not copy and paste that, but make a unique gaming experience, that pushes the player to want more, and other devs to try harder. Don't just churn out repackaged assets, with the same tired gameplay, and hohum storyline. Make something worthwhile and the name you wanted make for yourself, is complete.

I can't wait until that type of generator is invented. You can't hear it unless you're right up on it.

Yeah extremely dark and too much screen effects. Feels sort of like the developer wanted to hide the environment because it is probably so basic off the path so to speak. But cool moments and decent interactivity . Edit: the lighting issue seemed to get better after the first part of encountering the camp. But maybe that was added in post .

The killer is actually a priest from Warhammer 40k, and he is purging heretics with his eviscerator chainsword.

ah...another one of those limited flashlight playthroughs where i get to yell at a recording. because he keeps the light on when it should be off.i don't understand why its so hard to not have the light on when it isn't needed....

Excellent game design and balance. I like it when the villain is not impossible to escape from, giving you a chance to actually complete the game.

Gory visuals, a nice font, a guy with a chainsaw, and yet no HM-2 to be heard. I'm slightly disappointed. Other than that, interesting game!

Not bad but it was a little too dark. I want to enjoy seeing the characters and environment as well. I would also like someone to come up with something other than missing fuses lol. Maybe a light setting would help. 😁👍

Instead of health kits cans of Aqua-Net hairspray and bottles of mousse should have been made available to fortify her big 80s hair from the chainsaw. The mousse bottles could double as explosives. Even the empty ones made trash barrel fires a hoot. 💥
