Scripted? No, but people were clearly encouraged/paid to go into the store and act in an extreme fashion. That's standard operating procedures for shows like this. It isn't that real, creazy situations don't happen - it is just that they don't happen with sufficient frequency to create a tv show from.

On the snake wine .. i was stationed on Okinawa for two years in the 70's.. there was a bar in the town of henoko that sold shots of sake from a three gallon mason jar that sat on a pedestal in the center of a round bar , the jar had a huge habu snake coiled around in side of it and loose snake scale were floating free in the tank , a habu snake is deadly poisonous.. they sold it by a small glass it was probably four or five shots .. only for one American dollar ... many adventurous young marine drank from that jar , mostly on a dare .

Id like to see if these scenes were based on actual events? Were some of the customers real? and they said , hey if you step it up a knotch we'll make you famous or compensate you in some way. I'm sure the pawn business brings out some unsavory characters, with similar (or even more violent/outragous) stuff that can't be actually shown....just sayin'.

I would imagine that it would take a really really long time to come up with footage that was usable, if they were using real instances. I've been into plenty of pawn shops, I've never once seen anyone being rude or difficult.
