Hello wonderful people :) I know, it's been literally a year since I last uploaded... sure doesn't feel like it. There's a chance you've heard me in the interim though, because while I haven't been able to work on covers, I've had the joy and privilege of recording for a handful of fantastic video game soundtracks, as well as fan projects! Really exciting stuff. :)
I have a folder of VGM covers that are works in progress, including some of those games, but first here's one of those "left field" pieces I've wanted to cover on English horn, like "Cloe" back in 2014. I hope you like it anyway!
This song, performed by the Spanish band Mecano in the late 80's, was introduced to me by an old friend about a decade ago. I've had the WIP file on my computer since 2012 (yes, I'm that slow). The lyrics depict a woman who prays to the moon to be with her forbidden lover - and the moon, in exchange, demands her first born son. I'm a sucker for dark waltzes, and the music is also simply a nice reminder of the people and places in my life 10 years ago.
