Absolutley. It seems like a mech switch should be a plan ONLY if you maintain a decent Valkyrie force, otherwise you're doing it from like 3 steps behind instead of being on par and then taking putting yourself one step back by switching.
Just my personal Guy In Chat opinion, but I feel like the ultimate Terran composition against Zerg would be Battlecruisers with Yamato, plus Mass Medic/Firebat. Couple of Vessels. BCs deal with Ultras and anything else (once they hit critical mass they can do it all). Medics Restore the BCs from any Plagues, and the Firebats buffer the Medics and handle Lings as a mobile force. Can throw them in Bunkers to protect mining bases. Mass Bats could even handle Hydras under Dark Swarm as long as Yamato/Irradiate took out enough Lurkers.
After the loss of those Valkyries Artosis was never in doubt that Sacrsi was ahead, even though Rush kept having good engagements around that 2 o'clock base, and was quite ahead in supply. BW is awesome.
Bunkers + Firebats and a rax at the top of the ramp would have locked the 4th. Terran Mech requires Walls to keep runbys off the units. How have Terrans not figured this out by now?
Mech vs Zerg? Have my like! Edit : A question. If by some miracle Broodwar gets a patch, would a better ship armor upgrade be viable with 2-port Wraith vs Zerg, considering that upgrade is never gotten anyways since non-BC fliers are so fragile.
lol. I can't tell if these games you're picking are a fanservice for me, to lighten up my spam during streams, but either way I love and appreciate you scratching my itch. I may be projecting, but I'm somewhat happy that Terran are looking for something else than anti-timing defiler tech or irradiate grinding lurkers at a choke. Mech as it's played now, won't work on a 4 player map. Zerg has too much mobility between mutas, nydus, and rally lanes through the map. Maybe on 2 player maps, mech can methodically cut off map with enough numbers to hold. Maybe valks into +1 & BC pressure may disrupt the lair hydra tech enough to force zerg into awkward decisions, not just abusing Terrans flawed detection options. Physics lab nor +1 aren't necessarily commitments to incoming BCs. You need a sci facility regardless for vessel, and delaying irradiate research with physics lab is a type of optimization that lines up vessel energy to be high enough to actually cast when research finishes, if does not commit to BC. The current windows are just too small because lurker aspect and morph time total s 100 seconds, but what if they can't just get a handful of hydra and morph immediately, what if they need to worry about keeping them hydras and researching range instead? I know the optimizers think my ideas are stupid copes, but what's the most often used strategy that Terran deals with? Opponent tech ambiguity. Walling is only one way to do it, opening starport or sci facility addon techs are other options that may have relatively small net costs if it forces opponent to unoptimize their own builds.
Man, i can't do anything about it, BW games are so boring to me, the units move jankily and slowly, so things are great plays that would be absolutely basic shit in any other game just because of how badly the pathfinding and unit control is.
Mech can work since it is so cost efficient (in this case it failed because terran was behind already), but terran needs to hunt down queens with valkyries or wraiths. Worse alternatives are to hope for lucky emp or build dozens of goliaths.
Hi Arti, I’m one of your regular viewers, almost daily. Could you do quick tutorials like how to do tutorials for dummies (like me 😂) Like how to do vulture moving attacks, dragoon volley, muta volley, worker optimization etc. Would really appreciate it 🎉🎉
Shit dude. Are you actually Flash? Bisu? I'm not really sure why you're talking shit when odds are you've lost to more 4 pools then these dudes have played matches lmao. Don't throw stones at a glass house bro.
he didnt lose them like bronze players. sacsri had absolutely amazing set-ups to snipe the valks. first two he hid the scourge below the mutas and used valkyrie halo rocket particles to obscure them even more. second attempt was another great snipe from a blind angle. And the following lurker muta middle play was also absolutely top tier performance.
