ive done it as a road side repair before, terminals were corroded and it didnt want to start, although found it still didnt want to start and found the starter wire corroded off as well from the starter, luckily i kept enough electrical repair stuff to fix it.

@@RennieAsh Without the key in, the ignition and fuel system isn't working, it's just cranking the engine. Matt is right, that is a normal behavior of a relay.

Yeah. It’s about as spectacular as shorting out the starter solenoid with a screwdriver and getting it to turn that way. Actually, that’s more spectacular because usually there’s a bunch of sparks with it.

Or the car is burning oil, due to the problem either in the valve seals or the piston rings. Either way, might cost thousands of dollars to rebuild the engine, while pouring a cup of oil every fillup is cheap and easy. That's how here in Russia a lot of people live with their old Ladas that are burning oil.

almost all of the belt driven fans got a viscosity clutch witch will be engaged through a bimetalplate when it warms up ... all other fans are controlled by electronics

@@a0215b Im im the middle of turning a 2003 ranger into a mud truck. You really only need some proper tools and a little space if your lucky and vehicles are unsettlingly simple. Just start small and everything seems a lot simpler that looking at the whole vehicle.

9:20 that is actually normal. Thing is, that is only the fuse for the starter. So u could clamp that fuse with pliers all day, but it's not gonna start unless u activate the fuel pump too.

Relay, but yeah it can be closed manually, but the car still won't start, great way to tell if your Relay is and is to buy one with a mechanical switch on top and just bypass the relay

Personally I've gone into the Bin Room at work where the Employees had taken the Handle off the CIP Nozzle and left it in an open position. Now for those not familiar with the CIP, It stands for Clean In Place, basically hot water that has chemicals pumped into it which reacts with the grease and proteins and converts it into soap which actually does the washing. It's very hot, around 180°F and the chemicals in the line are extremely corrosive, and can basically cook your skin on contact. I turned the main valve on and the CIP went haywire so I quickly shut off the valve, cursing obscenities for a while after then I reported it maintenance thinking it broke because it was a worn out valve only for them to fix it and someone remove it again so I reported it to security who looked over the cameras and caught the guy doing it who got suspended and his pay was docked.

Yikes, I tested a Bronco years back at an old lot I'd help at and when braking it would pull hard to the left. Slapped it on the lift and come to find the outside layer of the brake rotor had been worn so thin it separated from the disc and was just kind of jostling around freely. Hella dangerous to drive like that.

9:12 I used to have a Jeep Grand Cherokee that had to be started like that. Turn the ignition to on but to fire the engine you had to pop the hood and pinch the starter relay like he's doing. After about 2 months of that I wired in a push button switch. Still set up like that to this day too lol

Mightywasp 12 tgat doesn’t work it just makes the battery stickier, more susceptible to rust, more likely to fail, and makes a bad contact with leads Don’t do this

I love these videos, it's inspiring, how creative humans can be, so many MacGuyvers out there. It's also scary, how stupid humans can be, but i focus on the positives and stupid can be pretty funny too.
