@musicloverme3993 At the end of the video, Scotty promised a random commenter a free flashlight. So Bill, the original poster here, decided to try and subvert that process by mentioning how old and blind he is, and how much he likes Scotty, in an attempt to secure the flashlight for himself. It was a valid attempt, it obviously fooled you, but in the end I think Scotty will pick someone at random, and both me and Bill will be buying our own flashlights. Personally, I'd rather have the boroscope anyway.

I have a 2004 Jeep. Old and has lots of mileage, but no more new or leased vehicles. I'm working on getting the Jeep in good shape to be an everyday runner again. I'm a 58 year old girl who spent most of my childhood watching my Dad fix literally everything from brakes to doing a complete engine. I'm grateful to have had such a good Dad like that. He taught me a lot. Now I watch your videos every day and have learned even more. Scotty, you are an amazing guy. You love what you do and are so generous to teach all of us. Thanks to Scotty I bought a 2017 Camry in 2019 (for under $16,000!). I’m 60 and it’s the most trouble free vehicle I’ve ever owned. 60k miles and other than fluids/filters the only thing it’s needed was front brake pads. And I used Akebono 🙂

Still driving my 2000 Tundra after all these 25 years. The truck was picked up from the dealer in August 1999. It was my first new car. Over the years your opinion of these older trucks has kept this one in my driveway. At 316K miles, I do not anticipate getting another vehicle. Thanks for providing these videos, many of them have helped me. Now to get to work on that horn.

Thanks Scotty you've inspired me over the years to do more things with my 07' Civic Si myself (other than just oil changes) with 286K. Struts, Rear Upper Arms, Sway Bar Links, Front lower Control Arms, steering tie rod ends. I'm sure easily I've saved Thousands of dollars in parts and labor as DIY...😊

Ive loved your page since the very first post I watched many many years ago that inspired my buy on my 05 Toyota Matrix XRS that I love to this day the most out of any vehicle Ive ever owned for it never gets my hands dirty or cost me a dime I maintain it thats all Ive ever had to do! I learned everything I know from a legend master mechanic such as yourself from age 14-30 Im now 46 and knew right away everything you explained about the Matrix you were being 100% Honest about(; With such a huge lack of that in many fields anymore its ridiculous!Too many people given out false info just for a free items is truly sad! Ive been a huge fan since day 1 always will be! For every post you’ve ever done will remain for future generations such as my sons to refer too that never wanted to learn how to turn a wrench at least know you from me sending them so many of your your posts as they’re buying all the wrong cars with CV trans ect junk losing thousands will help them out when Im gone! I really hate to see you retire yet you made history 100% with all your videos that will remain that no AI could possibly touch what you do and why I always type Scotty Kilmer first in the search on anything for youve never once failed me! And being a low income single father of four I Im rarely ever able to purchase anything for myself so that flashlight would be a blessing as a gift! I was just working on my sisters PT too that I told her not buy from the start and could of really used that flashlight being half blind working in the direct sun and you know what’s under them hoods the biggest tool eater no space that I ever seen! I cant Thank you enough for everything you’ve done not only for me but for the entire RU-vid community you not only saved me hours an hours of labor and thousands and thousands of dollars with my Matrix purchace Ive passed it all forward helping others from your posts for one example your Seafoam trans power steering trick Ive done now for at least 4 times for my friends an family saving them thousands! Both my dad and my stepdad were mechanics when I was growing up. My dad was just a side hustle mechanic, but good at what he did. My stepdad was a full time mechanic a drove race cars back in the day. Both of them are now retired. My son went to vo-tech school for 2 years for the auto technology course. He excelled at it! I guess mechanics is in the blood in this family! Anyway…this channel is not the kind of stuff I tend to follow on RU-vid and I’m really not sure how it got into my “recommended” list. But man, I’m sure glad it did! Your old school fix it ways reminds me of watching my dads diagnose and fix stuff! I’m so glad you are sharing your knowledge so this way of being a mechanic doesn’t die! Thank you for this channel, Scotty!

That borescope is the bee's knees. We used one that had an eyepiece and used a long rod, and that impact wrench is great for in the car when something goes wrong. Thanks for sharing the information!

Power 60 steering fluid bottles. Hose Still leaking.... new antenna, insurance, gas=$5 per gallon, auxiliary cord, new headliner, phone holder, phone charger, and A Ticket=$500.

My Dad's nickname was Scotty's because he came from Scotland. Although I lost him 34 years ago, I think of him when I watch you and also when I use his tools, as most of his tools had Scotty engraved or etched on them.

Hi Scotty, great videos I work on my '19 highlander hybrid with 250k km (rotors/pads, oil changes. lower control arm, cv-axle, and ball joints. . doing everything I can .. next will be the quick struts. lighting the subject always helps :) thanks for your dedication to spreading the word 👍
