I think it is disturbing how quickly the DM swooped in like vultures. He clearly was living with mental health issues, and the recent internet clowning mixed with the exposè from his ex pushed him over. I am a directioner and it’s sad what he went through but I pity his son. Celebs aren’t immune from criticism or trolling (when not taken too far)
Why are you blaming random people online, when it was his record label that dropped him and he was essentially fired, because his music career wasn't going well?
Appreciate what you are trying to do here, but IMO the timing feels exploitative. Waiting a bit, and dropping the interviews with the deceased would have been better.
He was (hopefully) one of the last victims of the Simon Cowell business model of accelerating careers of artists with great commercial appeal whilst alienating them from any of the creative parts of the musical process. The result is someone constantly relying on the label’s support for their fame and success while knowing they’re easily replaceable. Luckily it seems that we’re moving to an era of pop music where artists are celebrated for their own creativity (e.g. Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX) and whilst the labels and media will still always try to take advantage of them they have much more power and agency over their work.
Tragic but non celebrities succumb to stress also. I'd never heard of him until this video but I do know of tragedies from people in my own life. My sympathies but I dont think stress is unique to the celebrity lifestyle. Cold comfort but he is in good company. I hope his loved ones can find some peace and ways to come to terms with this tragedy.
5:26 interesting points here but I would also argue, some celebs crave attention too and over share, they appear on anything and everything to stay relevant, often many don’t really care, and it’s the tabloids that share this info often tipped off my the celebs pr team. With social media, fans can get that info straight from the celeb so the celeb can set the boundaries too. Yes many fans take it too far in any genre but the pr team want that too as it makes them money
Rather than listen to gossip sadly it happened, speculation will be the cause what happened, truly most probably won't be able to established any factors apart from media reports.
It's odd that if this was suicide, the Guardian hasn't put its usual helpline info at the of its articles on Liam today. Maybe it was an accident during a manic episode. His poor girlfriend must be in a world of hurt
As much as I can’t stand the Paul’s etc it’s not fair assign culpability to others. If Liam did this on purpose that was his choice, be it clouded by other things, he did it to himself. If it was an accident then there’s no-one to blame. He was not pushed, he fell. I hope and I’m sure people who knew him will reflect on how they treated him and indeed, how he treated them, but some people are just thoughtless like that. I’m sorry for anyone grieving, it’s very hard.
Surely only teenage girls around when they were a thing and vulture media types would have any idea who these people were? So go somewhere that isn't inundated with those people? Or wear a disguise?
@@susivarga7303 No I am not making excuses for the trauma they suffered or how they were manipulated or exploited. Just saying that Older folk, rockers, ravers, mods, punks, goths, country folk etc etc etc wouldn't have a clue who they were if they saw them out and about? Not everyone is a popster?
