This started as a very composed matured talk among sensible individuals and ended with usual tu-tu me me .'The great argumentative Indians'. We will never change.

Madhu ji you are the best. God bless you. As you said, people want to hear or see what they like. Politicians are the biggest liars in this world since they have existed. We as a country have achieved so much in the last 70 years and have produced such great people from every field and yet there is no credible independent voice or institute which people can trust. We have not empowered out institutions and it is our biggest weakness. People always take side but it the credibility of the system that matters. The system is corrupt and we have to blame ourselves.

Madhu it'd be very interesting to hear Pavan Verma (who seems sensible usually) on the same issue now that the JDU is back with the BJP.

To my surprise Kapil sibbal is sounding absolutely ludicrous and confused .....despite a good panel the moderator failed to offer a good and objective debate

i think swapan das is wrong. journalist cannot put his view, his job is to show the facts. u cant call urself journalist and put ur views infront of public and say their is no compulsion. that not journalism at all. i think swapan is confusing journalism with freedom of expression.

Worst moderator, she is so arrogant, interrupting all the time and never listens or understand what the panelists are saying. Infact , each panelist at some point of time told her that “you did not understand”. I think that is the first thing that journalist should understand- listen and understand what others are saying

Kapil Sibal just got exposed for owning a media house that defaulted... how is he sitting here and haranguing as if he is whiter than milk? This "Sibals -their TV station- their famous journalists" event completely debunks this news laundry item - they need to be laundered. Goyal and Dasgupta seem to be people of much higher integrity. The lady is doing such a lousy job of moderating the microphone. Dont we know that things like NDTV - especially its ravish kumar are totally anti establishment - even for a straight faced thing like election results reporting - he appeared ultra-happy to report some bjpian losing during the early round of counts that one assumed it to be the outcome...but by the time the count ended the result was the opposite...at which time the man was not even reporting from his desk!. Then there was its reporter in bengaluru who kept telling people in south blr that their bjp candidate there was too young... that he pushed the senior party member out of contention, that he had controversial tweets to his credit... all the time trying to create a bias against the candidate... Soon after that it was the turn of the senior most ndtv man to make very disparaging remarks against the young MP candidate from South bengaluru in the guise of an interview - it was another matter that the young man had the guts/gumption to deal with these people...but they tried hard to trouble him...hope now it is not lost on them that the voters know far better and have rejected them completely. NDTV, india today and Ind Express openly promoted kanhaya kumar and tried hard to shut up or downgrade people like Tejasvi surya - come on... every body should get a fair chance - if the media called themselves free and fair... No? To the discerning it is clear that they have an agenda and that there is definitely a lot of money power and political power that pass between them and someone else who has these resources... they can shout as much as they want from the rooftops... but if they can call the intelligent masses "bhakth" ... they should be ready to be called by any word...

I have some reservation on the outrage of some journalist/s at beig berated and called names, for asking questions and asking for proof of the action by the Govt. or by the armed forces at the Govt;'s behest. I disagree that it is the job of these esteemed and at times self-important "journos" to second guess the person who has called the press conference, it is their job to report what the Govt. representative is/has been announcing, PERIOD. If they smell something, they have the privilege and duty to check it from their sources, or research to find the truth or the whole truth. Why is it the other party's duty to satisfy every curiosity of yours with this bullshit that people want to know. First of all people don't, they are happy to be told that the Govt. has reacted as they expected, not interested in how and why; all that is for their own ego, mine is bigger than yours. Besides, in the events like surgical and air strikes there is a lot of sensitive stuff that with one or two words too many, can compromise people and institutions for all times to in addition to those assets being wiped out. Do these journalists know or care about how intel and specially humint is gatherd and how easy it can be to eliminate a surveillance network and how hard to and time consuming to set up replacements? These cocksuckers have learnt nothing from the more than a few disasters in past regimes when operatives were sacrificed by the bluster of self- important egoists. The problem is, these journalists have got too lazy and too used to free booze and jaunts and plots and Padma awards so they no longer want to work for a living as long as there is a free lunch, so they want the govt' to provide proof too. If and when they are taken to court, the plaintiff is supposed to make its case against them or supply proof in favour of accused too. Barrring PG,, almost every speaker seemed to be whining about his/her grievance couched some words of generalities.(moderator included). And this is their caliber, no longer mainstream is now downstream, and people are headed in the other direction..
