Stacey and this woman he loves just a year or so before this show(?) was in one of the best ever Gunsmoke shows...go to RU-vid, then punch in, ...GUNSMOKE, "Yankton" S17E21...that was 1972 Gunsmoke, this show we are watching now followed GS or was before because in 1973, shortly after the "Yankton," Gunsmoke or this show, Stacey lost his left arm and left leg...he was only 36, yet went out after recovery and acted in a lot of shows, even to near later 50's or 60'. A hard life many may not make it through...what a great actor...Gunsmoke he had Yankton, then the 2 part Vengeance, then the Widow and the Rogue...just a natural in acting. I watch the RU-vid Gunsmokes all the time.
Oh, I remember this! Isn't it something that this episode paired James Stacy with the actress Pamela Peyton Wright, played opposite him in the great "Gunsmoke" episode "Yankton."
Stacey was a convicted child molester. He pleaded no contest to molesting an 11 year old girl. The day before his sentenceing he ran off to Hawaii where he was arrested and sentenced to 6 years in prison.
James Stacy had such great possibilities as an actor, until the drunk driver hit him and he lost his left arm and leg (his girlfriend was killed). He had actor friends, who helped him get roles after the accident. In the mid 1990s he did something that was very very shocking and went to prison after being convicted of being a pedophile!!
