Exactly!! US medstudents are so freakin spoiled. This thing - biig luxury apartment, own cars, biiig shopping, overpriced coffee etc etc ... they take for granted. Here in Europe students live in 1 small bedroom with roomate, they are more humble, they save where possible, they don't waste money like US students... This is not normall for us.
How is a small 1 bedroom apartment considered luxurious? Luxury would be a large balcony patio, or a 5 bedroom house. This is just a decent standard of living everyone should have access to, but doesn't.

Oh my, god you are so adorable! Nice apartament, congrats 🥰 I feel related with some of the comments. As a student in Europe, I have been living in rooms from 5m^2 to 8m^2. Now I work, so I could get in a 12 m^2 room. It's a huge difference in standards of living, compared to US indeed.

it's a small apartment in a low-cost area. I'd guess he got it initially for around $1000/m a year or two ago. Nowadays who knows with inflation. I wouldn't imagine higher than 1400-1600.

If you want a suggestion of something to make from that Julia Childs cookbook, make the Beef Bourguignon - it's to die for and makes a decent amount of food for leftovers. I'm also a med student and made that recently to spoil myself =P. Find a good rosemary garlic mashed potatoes recipe to go with it. Cheers from WVU!

The front door looks really nice actually! The custom cushion was genius. Looks very quaint in that whole reading area. Those industry kitchen lights have enough edge to pair nicely with the modern ones. The bedroom could use more plants, a carpet, bookshelves, or crystals to make it more inviting.

@@inlineloverr i get the point you are racist towards the west because europe thinks we are a fascist consumerist society and that having some nice things means we are not modest or humble. we are one of the largest and wealthiest nations on the planet. we live in closets for undergrad. there is nothing immodest about having nice accommodations during medical school. Most people are going deep into debt to be able to cope with the rigors of the training by having a nice place to live.
