Medicine Bow Peak (12,019 ft: the highest point in the snowy range) is accessible from various trails and trailheads. This trail is a true hidden gem in Wyoming and not far from the University of Wyoming in Laramie! This video shows the Medicine Bow Peak via the Lakes Loop. The West Lake Marie trailhead is right off of Wyoming Highway 130 between Laramie, Wyoming and Saratoga, Wyoming. Our loop ended up at about 7.5 miles. We hiked the trail counter-clockwise to enjoy the sunrise on the rock faces across the many lakes including Lake Marie, Mirror Lake, and Lookout Lake.

Did this loop 28 years ago with my wife on our first holiday together out of the UK. One of my favourite memories of that trip around all the Rocky Mountain states. A magical place. Was pretty cold camping at 10,000 feet in our cheap 2 season tent, but well worth it.

Fantastic video. The best I have seen about Medicine Bow Peak. My son & I did Medicine Bow Peak in August 2019--still snow on top. We did it clockwise--better if you have shorter legs.

Scott, great video. Really enjoyed it. Special to me because my grandparents were Forest Service volunteers in one of the Medicine Bow campgrounds for 10 summers. I've done that hike several times and its amazing. Last time might have been my favorite.... hiked up and ran the back side down. Love trail running... it was a blast!

Really enjoyed watching this vid. I felt like I was on a mini vacation! Been to the Snowy Range 3 times. Hiked out to Prospector Lake to collect some Stromatolite samples with my then girlfriend (now, wife for 3 decades). Incredible beauty. I am surprised how late in the season you all were there. Looked perfect! Thanks for sharing! Btw, where were you when you did the review at the end of the vid? The backdrop looked interesting.

Blown.A.Way! What an outdoor feast for the eyes. Have to admit though some of those ridge shots made me dizzy. Just getting familiar with all that Wyoming has to offer. Been spending too much time in Colorado I guess (sorry Colorado). What's the closest burger and beer spot? BTW, what is it with the one thumbs down...y'all make somebody mad?
