Is the medicine wheel modified in different cultures? In order for this model to work in accordance with the elements it should be Air = Yellow = Mental Fire = Red = Spiritual Water = Blue = Emotional Earth = Green = Physical
echo travels circular not square edge bounce light as frequency generates relations positive flow language has no song name brand limit wild is real truth no fear is pure spirit does motion know makes action.
Interesting... The second video on the Native American Medicine Wheel that I've watched, and the second one delivered by a Canadian... Hmmm... Seems like Indians south of the border have and use the Medicine Wheel, but Indians north of the border teach about it?
Could that depend on which tribe and/or part of the continent the tradition comes from? E.g., I have seen different associations from Navajo elders (Navajo are very present on You-Tube).
I was originally taught a different way as well. The best thing to do when there's some confusion is to read, and listen to different elders, and think it through. Generally speaking, air is tied to thought, and earth is tied to the body, water is emotions, and fire is spirit. The color of fire is red, and so spirit would be in the south by this measure. The color of earth is black (or green in some teachings). But black is on the west side of the medicine wheel. So earth would be west. Everybody has their own teachings and traditions and most people would say there's no one right way to look at it. Personally, I like the teaching where Spirit is East. Babies are pure spirit. Then comes youth, who have all the fire and energy (South, summer, red). Then comes adulthood, in the west. They have the emotions. And elders are in the north. They have the wisdom of the mind, the thoughts, the air. And that's the direction they head when they pass away, up. But that's just one way of looking at it. The thing about symbols is they mean different things to different people.
@@kevnar I have a question on your personal preference so I can understand better, I’m on my own journey. You said you start in the East with Spirit as babies are pure Spirit. Then you go South where summer and red are. But you said that Spirit is red, so is south Earth - Physical/Body realm? Thanks
