@@sami_te29 Nah, I just went there and relentlessly squeezed them out of existence step by step. Took a year or so before I finally got bored of it and switched to Stainless Steel 6.4
I had the opportunity to visit Malbork/Marienburg Castle last year. It was honestly something else. The entire castle was maintained surprisingly well despite the devastation it suffered during World War II. Out of all the castles I have visited, Marienburg is one of my absolute favorites now, second perhaps only to the Alhambra in Spain. It was just so cool to walk through the castle, seeing the quarters of the Teutonic Knights' Grandmaster, or the living quarters of the knights, imagining them dining and going about their daily chores, or the meeting room for the knights where they likely met to plan out and discuss their next move, and of course the great battlements where they likely stood as the Lithuanians and Poles laid siege to them in 1410. Whole time, I was thinking of this song.
Playing as Lithuania right now, control a solid portion of the map. Novograd were good allies the entire campaign and out of the blue they just turned on me 5 turns ago, have been rerouting all new troops to fight them and completely destroy their nation for their treachery. The western front is relatively secure, the teutonic order was destroyed at least 20 turns ago, there's 5 full stack armies stationed around Marienburg and very little traffic around that area meaning I have zero worries. After I destroy Novograd and take all their towns I will be close to winning, HRE is currently allied with me and holds most of the west so the plan is to mop up the last of the polish, disband masses of troops that aren't needed, use the powerhouse economy and buy the remaining towns from HRE to win. Lithuania is an odd faction, lots of hit and run tactics from the horse archers to chip away at the enemy and then use temple units to clean the rest up. All in all, enjoyable campaign
First battle with the Teutonic Order today. Dismounted Ruthbruders, cavarly, artillery, ect. against the Lithuanians. They came out with only four men. I only lost fifty. Goes to show how badass they are.
@@sami_te29 Cheer up, it's never too late to discover the good things in life. Plus, us older gits are still around to provide any tips or guidance, if needed :D

The Teutonic order was only defeated at Tannenberg due to internal strifes, as some units even refused to fight (read about the Lizard Union), on the contrary the Polish-Lithuanian combined armies worked in close support to achieve victory. Even so, they were not able to breach Marienburg Castle (or Malbork Castle) during the siege that followed, and the war went on... Ultimately the Order was defeated and had to pay a large amount of reparations to their enemies, crippling their finances permanently. Some knights were executed for their behavior at Grünwald after the truce. I assume The Teutonic Order were a ruthless opposition that most Baltic and Slavic states feared, who fought off numerous opponents before they fell.
+Solange bertotti The siege at Marienburg (or Malbork) failed mainly because while it was almost empty at the time of the battle of Tannenberg, the allied forces of Poland-Lithuania didn't march there when they had the chance. The troops were tired after the battle and refused to march upon the commanders' orders, and they took a long amount of time looting the Teutonic Order's camp. Over the lost time, the Teutonic forces regrouped and rushed to Marienburg for defense, which payed off in the longer run, because the Polish-Lithuanian forces were forced to retreat after a lenghty, costly siege.
Converted yes, but got baptised from Poles. And still despite being Christian they've been attacked by the teutonics. Eternal shame on the Order, bloody heretics and traitors! Long live Poland, Lithuania and Rus!
And Teutons had the entire Reich and its people on their back+knights from the West (France, Scotland, England, Flanders, etc). Check the facts before making a statement next time. The forces of both sides were equal, but only the righteous ones could win in this conflict.
😢Love god and love all people. Trust, hope and do good in god. 😂Believe in the gospel Jesus Christ for Jesus Christ shed his blood and died for the sins of the world and he was buried and rose again from the dead three days later. For Jesus Christ God almighty and the flesh and if you believe in the gospel you are spiritually reborn into the family of God.
@@kam2150 No sir! But I can assure you that the only side of the battlefield where you would see horned helmets, would be all black and white.. the chaos dogs stand no chance against us!
I bet the Lithuanian's at least is saying: Fuck this shit! I am going to Novgorod! But Novgorod says: Fuck this! I am going to the mongols. But the Mongols says: Fuck this! I am going back to mongolian main land. But the Mongolian main landers says: Fuck this we have no place to go! And that is how the Teutonic Knights became presidents of the universe. :I
As a matter of fact, muslims did improve the knowledge they inherited from the Eastern Roman Empire and the Sassanids. There are a lot of famous muslim scientists and scholars in history, check it out. Cities such as Bagdad or turkish Constantinople were renowned centers of learning and culture. There is no point in trying to find out who invented the whole thing, though -kinda a rubbish competition. Every civilization in human history influenced and was in turn influenced by its neighbours.
would you risk it all for your country, for your home? Would you lie there in the grass bleeding to death and knowing your life is slipping away, but also knowing you tried as hard as you could to stand for what you believe in? This may not make sense to you but i think this made sense to a lot of these warriors. Yet they lie there bleeding, and no one would pick them up. Their country wouldn't pick them up. Would you still die for a country that wont pick you up?
Courier: How is it that a western world, which conquered world, is now allowing itself being conquered? Caesar: "Culture is an odd thing. Sometimes a tribe grows tired of its identity, grabs for an opportunity to reimagine itself. The tribe becomes its own antithesis. Everything flips to the opposite polarity. Dialectics tells us that this can't last. There has to be a synthesis, a final sorting out."
@GhostN98 We could argue, that all the extra stuff, decoration, etc on armors and weapons just makes you less effective...but if it gives you confidence/courage and scares/demotivates the enemy...the true master of battle wins the fight even before it beguns. But you have to prepare for a lot of archers targeting you. (Target the shiny one, 'cus it scares our troops, kill him and win the battle)
@LichGeneral You state a lot of stuff, but you have no sources at all to support your claims, either come with them or get a way from debating. Please dont have a negative tone, you come out like a angry little brat.
If Ritter Bruder Teutonic knights would show up in season 8 of Game Of Thrones , none would fall during the battle at Winterfell. I believe 100 brothers walking under this masterpiece soundtrack and cloudy weather , wpuld be enough to defeat the entire undead army
Well really most of the Teutonics had a pig nosed Bascinet. BTW Poland won Battle of Grunwald that put an end to the Teutonic order! I'm proud to be Polish!
New to Teutonic order. the wars were horrible the Lithuanians stayed to be Pagan but Teutonic order cut them off from being Pagans. They became Catholic. Teutonics still thought they were truly Pagans. so this came to the year 1409. The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was formed. To destroy the Teutonic Order before they go on a invasion of Eastern Europe. Battle of Grunwald was the final division of battles against the Teutonic order. Poland-Lithuania Commonwealth won the battle! :D
It is All we had then was hope either form large or small in those days be grasp on to anything . Doesn’t matter which side we experience the dark of those days. Doesn’t matter which one long as u had faith in something and had hope truly with hope alone we continue all ways and individuals long there still that hope one day we can fight side by side for are beliefs an yours there hope in that
Secretcodrin primitive traditional troops with least armored against fully supported fully armored diciplined killing machines... well you get the idea of which faction is the easiest and which one is the hardest...
A uniform can be anything. It can just be a hat of sorts. The Order's uniform was probably just something black/white with their Trademark Cross upon ;=
Well I do acknowledge that you were very powerful at the time (possibly more powerful then Russia) In the 17th century we almost fell to you. But I love Swedish culture!
Actually, it was the Lithuanian duke who married into the Polish throne. Technically, it were the Poles who joined Lithuania. The vassalage question doesn't arise. Also, the conversion of the Lithuanians was primarily for show at that point. Most of the poeple remained pagan until the late 1400s and only the rise of Martin Luther caused a conversion boom which led to the total "Christianization" of the place.
Im getting tired of this. Your pissing me off. Racism or treating someone less then you because there black or from another country is the worst thing you can do. So you say pepole from israel are kind? Bullshit. But i try to respect everyone at the same level
Actually these guys did not wear horns on their helmets to battle. Sword Brethren did, but rarely :P But it doesn't change the fact that it would look cool...And creepy.
the polacs didn't charge pzIII's if that's what you're thinking, and they were hardly the only ones using horses in WW2(wehrmacht used em aswell), in fact the polish charge actually worked when they charged german infantry who ran like hell when they saw the poles coming at them. Unfortunately the polacs ran into half-tracks with mg's on em and routed after a couple of bursts. The More You Know!
