late game battles must be taken with such contemplation. Specially when you are excomunicated and everyone hates you. And a Crusade has been called upon ya
@@A.Martinez152 True I'm in a late game right now playing Egypt where I'm trying to finish Moors and Turks but Mongols don't let me do it. I was moving rapidly when I was conquering rebels at the start of the campaign and now I only do 2-3 turns a day because they are too overwhelming
@@NameNik223 I'm playing with Milán and god, i was excomunicated for lets say 60 turns more or less. I have all of Italy, and for some reason the Pope now is on Valencia, Portugal declared war at me before and now Rome is under a crusade, and feels like everyone and their mother is on a crusade against me. Except the Danes that are excomunicated too and the poles doing their thing
'All of Christendom will be in awe of our victory here today.' But you only killed a few garrison spear militia with a full stack of semi-professional troops
With archers, crosbowmen and catapults. As Ricky Gervais said it, its like you are fighting a midget when you hold him at arms lenght and he is flailling his arms, while you kick him in the bollocks.
*a papal runner bursts into the office of his holiness the pope* "YOUR EMINENCE, WE HAVE RECEIVED WORD THAT AN ENGLISH LORD SLAUGHTERED A FEW HUNDRED REBEL PEASANTS AND ARCHERS IN SOME CASTLE IN WEST FRANCIA." *the pope shits his pants* "INCREDIBLE."
How to win any battle*: 1. Play this theme 2. Use cavalry to charge the enemy position 3. Pull cavalry out 4. Charge back in 5. Profit! *Only in Medieval II
"Either a shepherd and his flock are lost or, our foes are standing over there!" - "After today's fight many goats will be feeling strangely relieved!"
So.. What you're saying is.. Jeff van Dyck wasn't composing Empire Total War's music and Napoleon Total War's music? I haven't heard Empire Total War's music at all, nor have I played it, but Napoleon Total War's music is h3lla-good.
I remember great battles with the Holy Roman Empire. I once made a point of playing all the campaigns on high difficulty. It was an intense experience, with epic battles defending and expanding my territory according to objectives. What I didn't like was that all the factions, when playing on hard, seemed to turn against me regardless of my actions.
today we go forth to slay our enemies, but In doing so we do them a service for we save them from their horrible shrieking wives, creatures better suited to gutting fish than pleasing men
Of course poor general Evangelos never had time to finish his speech before it cut to the loading screen... *"Men! Give our people honour, glory AND MOST OF ALL-"*
the instrument that plays the main theme is actually not a guitar, it is the instrument which was played in medieval age. It is called:Psaltery, a cross between a harp and a guitar.
this. THIS. is the best TW tune, ever. A champion among champions. Every time I hear this I can see my cav slowly moving into position to flank, the infantry line marching forward to draw the enemy in... I never, EVER speed up that part.
I am playing a coop campaign with my buddy in Warhammer 2 and I love using Medieval 2 tracks to enhance our our battles. (and to ever so slightly nudge him to play medieval 2)
@@thespacedisland5746 Just show them some of the mods made for Medieval 2, if they're a fan of something like Lord of the Rings, Elderscrolls or Legend of Zelda there are some full on conversion mods for Medieval 2 for those settings.
I just can't stop listening to this master piece. I keep listening to it again, and again, and again... I got one word to describe the soundtrack: BRILLIANT!
Finally! Found out what the song's called. Absolutely love this song and still play the game, it's an absolute gem with the gameplay and the amazing soundtrack.
"We have chosen the field.... NOW, LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!!!" "Fight nobly men, as you march in the Kaiser's name... TOO BATTLE!!!" "IF THE ENEMY SHOW YOU MERCY IN BATTLE, DO NOT RETURN IT... KILL THEM"
Dinosaurs never existed as I prove in my series on atheism. Glad the Middle Ages was devoid of atheist mythologies. Same goes for Antiquity and most of history. No great warriors in history were atheists.
