As a Christian that has invested hours upon hours in the study of Church history, I am extremely happy to hear an accurate and fair presentation of the origins of Christianity.... especially from an Atheist professor. I hope to see more teachers follow his example.
Sorry ,but this guy does not know first century Judea, Samaria, or the Galilee. He hides behind gross generalizations. He doesn't know first century archaeology, he doesn't know the Jewish Second Temple Period. I feel sorry for those students having to sit there and be inculcated with a lot of mis-information. The scholarship for the Second Temple Period has exploded in the last 40 years. How a so-called academic can be so disingeneous just shows how susecptible students can be.
I've been informed by an authority on the matter that it was filmed in Turkey.,...hard to tell huh?, I thought it was in the U.S. too., the students LOOK "American", don't they?, and they all seemed to speak & understand English as well as any American student., and I suppose the anti-Christian sentiment there is NEARLY as bad as here in U.S. class rooms., almost., but Muslims are generally more polite, respectful, and un-offensive when speaking of Christianity., at least THEY believe in him, and his importance to the world., unlike the mocking, bashing spew coming from some American teachers.
Thank goodness I don’t have to teach this bunch of clods Western Medieval history. The students either sit there falling over half-asleep or want to make a big political issue out of everything the professor says. He has the patience of a saint and is doing a great job, but one can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. Are the students being forced to take this class?
