Did miss some stuff at those camps near the start. Bunch of fishing spears stuck in the ground, and a basket in one of the tents. Those camps can be annoying to find everything. Survival Sense is really good for finding the bodies of animals you've killed, along with ones you're looking for in forests etc.

By morning of day 2 I had purchased iron crossbow and 10 iron bolts as well as large backpack and large pouch. Backpack is first. I looted the 2 abandoned houses close to Town (one each direction) and killed 2 moose. more than enough money to get the best weapon in game and from there it's really easy to kill deer, moose, boars wolves all with one shot (head). From there you start your journey on day 2 with the knowledge you have all the money you need. plus the means to hunt more animals very efficiently to make more when in a pinch

It's good to plant cabbage during the summer. You'll get a lot of cabbage. This will give you future rot for fertilizer.

The time lapse with music is pretty chill. love it

If you can afford the mats dried meat sells for more. A hunting or fishing hut has the drying rack.

you can put clay in the walls so that the cold does not affect the interior so much in the winter

Trying to catch up on your vids, here's a few tips that came to mind. Sorry if they've been mentionned before. Instead of starting with Wheat, you should start with cabbage on your first summer. They cost less, you don't need tools to harvest them and they yield seeds without having to process them. The cabbage can also be eaten raw so it will provide food for your villagers during winter. If you do intend on farming early, I would suggest you collect as much unriped berries in the spring and let them rot so you can transform them in fertilizer quickly. Then in automn, pick up the mushrooms on the ground and do the same thing, you won't have to buy fertilizer ever. From my experience, with Insensitive level 3 you can survive winter only with a pair of fur boots, they are enough to keep you warm at least in the beginning. There's a quest you can do early in Ostoya where a young girl lost a ring. It will give you 300 coins and it's very easy to find. Last tip : At the end of a season, go in a mine in the evening and mine as much as you can even if you're overload. Once the season ends you will pop back in your house with your loot

I'm glad my comment helped you out some. Winter is indeed brutal in this game. Keep plenty of firewood in resource storage for your villager until you can upgrade houses. You'll see the difference in how many resources are saved by upgrading the houses. Building a stone campfire outside with a bench or a seat will help your villager stay warm during the fall and winter as they work. They will also gather around it in the mornings.

I was told that if you sell items to correct vendor, they give you more money towards it

Really like the series buddy. It's a good idea to stack up some money for winter because as soon as spring comes you'll need money for taxes - the bigger your village the bigger the taxes 👍👍

Love the game, but ut bothers me so much having seasons that dont matter at all. They only impact on crops. Winter should be a season where resources should be less available, yet we have the exact the same animals we have in spring and summer. Animals should be way less and harder to survive.

Great Video! Something I do when I'm "Carrying too much" is run sideways.. it's weird, but it actually increases your movement speed. Basically just hold W and A (or D) at the same time while running and your character moves faster. You have to adjust your vision to make sure you're running the right direction, but it has saved me SO much time. (Might be something to do offscreen when doing a Lets Play cause it looks kinda weird lol)

Hey Kysen, you would be wise to consider getting “Tracker” perk which is under hunting skill tree. It works just like “Survival sense” but shows you animals , birds and fish instead of plants. Assuming that is, that the Oxbow game is the same as the Valley version! Im really enjoying this playthrough, it will tide me over until next Spring when the console version is due out! 😃

Something to help with moving faster when encumbered. If you travel on a diagonal, you will more faster.

Press Alt to go into inspect, you can find coin bags and smaller items quicker. Loving this game so far. Crafting simple pouches is great for early economy if you go the hunting route.

Animal feed is made from rye oats and straw unless they've made a change. You can check in the barn where you make fertilizer. Keep an eye on your villagers wood use

OMG I didn't realise the cooking took that long lol as I am one of these filty people who turn the fast setting on in customise haha. I could not play like that! Unless I could walk away while it cooked!

Water bottles is the best. 2 leather and sells for 20 coins. That's more than a 1 leather bag selling for 7 coins.

Those camps and especially the boxes, are usually hard to see a lot of the time. Looking forward to your next video. I found an iron crossbow at 100%, if you want to know where just LMK.

In case they haven't fixed it; when the season comes to an end and you are crafting things, you can do so indefinitely so long as you don't interrupt your current recipe. That means you can collect a bunch of resources and make a crazy amount of, say stone knives for example.

Nice series. I have started a new game on the new map and having fun. The inly thing I changed was unlimited weight, since that annoys me af lol. Btw you steal a lot of things during the night in cities when everyone is sleeping. Just be careful not getting caught, otherwise you lose dynasty rep. 😂 Also yeah, hunting for early money is the way to go. Btw having a torch out during winter will warm you plenty.

In the winter ❄️ I just run around doing stuff and when I’m cold I just light a torch to the coldness go away or going to the house that gets rid of the cold as well

Late to your playlist, but loving it. I understand your reasoning for not customising the game which I agree with. However the one that I use is alter the brightness setting to 150% and turn shadows off during the night cycle and while exploring the caves. This lets you do the 'boring ' stuff without straining to see everything.

A great moneymaking tip early on is to make a ton of stone knives and sell them, its just easy if you really need money, kinda boring to make them all and collect the resources for, lets say 200+ knives, but its great if you're kinda desperate for money. Kinda feels like a "hack".

Catching up on this myself. I'm sure this will be answered in the future, but couldn't you make your own clothes? Seems like you would have had leather and fur. Thanks for these. Planning on jumping into this myself.
