Although the content might be good, the trend I'm noticing between all these Quartz videos is that the mixing is just bad. In this video Michael is really hard to understand and even more so at anything faster than 1.50x speed, where it's already super muddled. The interview sound levels also aren't normalized so I'm constantly adjusting the volume.
Hoh one more video! Good job! Whoops edit: Btw i did a lot of mindfulness when i was studying and i can say it helps a lot! It started when i was thinking about death and quitting so i decided to detach myself from everyone but i dont have enough money and time being a student.. so i did some research and i found mindfulness Whoops, more edit: Recently i got into depressive episode and think i was failing i was about to quit my job i think the world dont need me so useless and my friend ignored me when i told them they were like whats with u? And my boss messages sound like she was annoyed as hell and etc... then i remembered mindfulness and how i excel in my study so yesterday when i was about to take a bath, i stopped halfway, and meditate for a bit... i scan my body... listen to the roads.. the breeze.. and tadaaa!! I was happy again today 😆
Meditation can be a double edged sword. It can be used to open to our scary emotional beast of a self, or it can be used as yet another defense mechanism our mind can use to shut out emotions. Most, meditation teachers don't realize this because they don't know the psychology behind it. Even some "expert" meditators don't know the true depths of their emotions. Don't believe monks are all mentally healthy people. The key is "emotional regulation" and true, this can be helped by meditation. But only the right kind of meditation (pure breath meditation) with the right guidance/teacher. If your teacher doesn't mention anything about emotions, run and never go back! Self affirmations, mantra etc. meditation is quite frankly dangerous. I'm happy to see that this couple is on the right track.
Having trouble with this particular narrator's volume levels on Quartz. Great content, but very difficult to understand when the ends of his sentences taper off. A little too breathy to understand. Maybe projecting voice more from the diaphragm??
skemsen I agree it makes it harder to watch but I wouldn’t speak for everyone, seeing as this is simply your opinion. You can make feedback without being so assumptive
Nothing against the person, but the narrator was annoying. I couldn't finish other two Quartz video. I only did with that one because of my interest on the subject. Thank you.
