This particular meditation filled me with such much love... I had to stop because it was almost.... unbearable, in a very nice way. I still hope to knock at your door some day, or on the door of a retreat, and tell you: "I am here!" It is a way to say how much I would like to be part of your audience, sometime. I live in London but I couldn't find at the moment any meeting, probably because of the actual general situation (lockdown). Many thanks and lot of love!

When I see that everything is just waves... What then? Another wave comes. I try to sink deep but find that observing the depth is just another wave. There is no depth, there is just waves... When I see stillness, it just is just an observation of stillness but brings no peace with it. Trying to sink is just another form... Exhaling all oxygen to sink further, I just feel the currents of exhalation.

I think Rupert is good at teaching but trying to understand him at least for me is impossible. I just dont get how we can be aware of being aware if objects are always present in experience. In particular the sensation of the body.. Awareness is undeniably aware but to say awareness can shine on itself is impossible I feel.

I have just started meditating with Rupert online and learning about non-duality. I have believed that consciousness is prior to materiality for a long time. I haven't felt peacefulness yet because there are often deep fears lurking nearby. Sometimes I almost fall asleep which doesn't seem like a good thing.

@@zain4019 So what (?) Yours seems a glib and superficial truism to me. EVERYTHING arises out of pure Awareness . . . including (for example) being able to speak Swahili. But does cultivating pure Awareness lead to speaking fluent Swahili (?) No -- absolutely and categorically not. And the same is true for Love. An entirely different practice is necessary for realizing Love. That's why there's the ancient formula "Sat-Chit-Ananda": Chit (Awareness) . . . and Ananda (Love) . . . are not the same realization.

Awareness cannot be aware of itself purely without objects because it is always shining on objects. Even if you were in the quietest room in the world your bodys natural sensation for example is still in awareness it cannot be isolated. Awareness looks but it cannot see itself. Becuase ultimately It is formless. You would have to keep going back and back.. I just dont see how one can be aware of what has no form itself. Im not criticizing Rupert hes a great teacher but I find this mindbending and am totally open to clarification if anyone has it.

yes indeed. the riddle is like this: The mountain is, then there is no mountain, then the mountain reappears. Awareness and form are married, but if awareness looks upon itself with no center, it can feel it's way to the absolute space from which form emerges within its field. Out of nowhere arises form and the awareness of it. Surrendering to this absolute space of emergence takes us to the realm of non-existence from which form appears as if from the surface of the ocean. The still point of the absolute is beyond form, time and awareness itself. it is a the peace that has no name and no form yet creates from it's emptiness the known universe. " :) Such is the way of our mysterious nature and origin.

@@jakelerms1935 the anxiety is the fear for the loss of self. i have experienced it many times, like a terror of disappearing in the vastness. It is funny to realize that dissolution happens into reality and leaves all confusion at the door, which is an other way to say, the process is a relaxing into that which is our true nature, our being and it's mysterious depth of existence. Once this is seen, the world of forms become again imbued with inner lights like the memories of our youth when our consciousness was clear and non concerned. That is the true freedom, to realize that we can experience both form and emptiness and that is which is beyond both form and emptiness...
