@@uslee19 I do! My skin has improved A LOT! That's been the most noticeable change since I see my skin every day :) I also feel more calm in general and I notice improved strength and muscle gain.
At 45 years old and dieting for 15 years… I’m allowing myself to be happy and eat a balanced Mediterranean lifestyle. I have done keto carnivore vegan etc I’m so done with dieting and restrictions. Thank you for this video
Ending a keto lifestyle now that I've had a 20lb weight loss. Going for a more balanced Mediterranean meal plan now to get the added health benefits and hopefully lose the last 10lbs. Thanks for the 3-day meal plan to help get me started.
My husband and I are starting the Mediterranean Diet the day after Christmas. In 2 1/2 weeks, he is having labs done. We are hoping that the diet will make the lab results look better with some weight loss. We both are looking to lose some weight, get healthier and feel better. I know the Mediterranean Diet is the healthiest. The food looks delicious. We have been stocking the pantry already. I downloaded the meal plan too. The food you made looks great.
YAY! I've been somewhat stalking your channel for a new video haha I'm so excited these look SO GOOD! Idk if you've watched that docuseries with Zac Efron, but in one episode they visit Italy, and they talk about how they have a "blue zone" which means they have the highest concentration of centenarians and there are only like five blue zones in the entire world. It's so interesting, and this way of eating and their lifestyle contributes to longevity. They also eat WAY less protein than we do here, they explain it all in that episode but I highly recommend it. The whole show is great.
Hi Michele!! Yes! I've read The Blue Zones of Happiness book - I'm a huge fan! But I've never seen the Zac Efron docuseries! I'll have to find that! Thank you for the tip :)
Just found your page and subscribed. I already follow the Mediterranean plan, and actually had the same as you today for breakfast ( excluding the eggs). It is one of my favourites. I do mine slightly different, putting the tomatoes in the pan first, add the seasonings a moment later then add the spinach after until slightly wilted, remove from cooktop and add the dash of balsamic and mix around. I agree, it is so delicious. Haven't done the dinner one yet but definitely will now that I've seen yours. Thank you from New Zealand 🙋🏼♀️ 🇳🇿
Just subscribed and love your recipes. Just started the Mediterranean Diet and need to lose weight and I am a senior and wanting better health. Can’t wait to see more healthy recipes. Thanks 😊
My husband and I have been on plant based style for 4 years, but lately I’m just not sure that we may need more. It is so restrictive. Thanks for the video
Hi Jordan............. new subscriber here from the UK. I thoroughly enjoyed your video and intend to watch many more as I embark on the Mediterranean manner of eating. I have downloaded the free meal plan. All the food you made looked delicious! Best wishes from across the pond 😁.
Hi I have been cooking quite a few recipes from the Mediterranean living site, from the actual section of recipes to lose weight. The food just tastes so good, but what I find hard to wrap my head around is the amount of Olive oil used, how can I lose weight using so much oil. I have been following the recipes to the tee and the taste is just so good and I know a lot of this is due to the Olive oil...I suppose also its just hard to believe that food that tastes so good can help you lose weight.
Delighted I found your youtube channel, Jordan. I love Mediterranean food and I decided to start eating this way to lose weight but primarily belly fat!!
Any suggestions for me as I absolutely hate yogurt & avocados. So breakfast & lunch recipes are out for me. Dinner I can do. Any suggestions would be helpful.
I too detest yogurt, so I use cottage cheese instead. Also, avocados aren't really a staple of a true Mediterranean diet. My family is from Spain and it's not traditionally a thing. Try hummus instead!
These look delicious! I get emails from Mediterranean Living and the last one had the link to your video. I'm so happy to find you and I'm looking forward to more recipes! I am also gluten free. I'm curious what bread you used. It looked good! Please share if you don't mind 😊 thanks a bunch.
Woohoo! So glad you were able to get the meal plan! Hmm 🤔 I'm not tracking calories right now - and it definitely varies depending on how much exercise I do, but if I had to guess, I'd say right now I'm getting anywhere from 1800-2200 a day. If you are into tracking, I really like this resource: www.precisionnutrition.com/nutrition-calculator
Trying to download the 3 day meal plan but I keep getting the 404 message, telling me it doesn't exist. I'm so sad, really wanted to get started on this plan.
Oh no! Sorry that happened! Try going to their main website: www.mediterraneanliving.com/ scroll down and find the blue box that says "looking to lose weight" then click "lets go"
the med diet drinking challenge - every time she says the word "parfait", take a drink. i guarantee you by the 3 min mark you will be in the ambulance getting your stomach pumped.
Yes but it looks like you were never far before so you don’t know the real struggles of people coming from a SAD. To lose that weight, on a Mediterranean diet, you definitely need to order your macros a bit. Have your fats in the first part of the day: eggs + salmon/sardines + bit of greens (asparagus, broccoli). Lunch and maybe when you’re at work just have some nuts/olives. Dinner complete your protein with lean meat and your choice of carbs plus fruit for sweet tooth. This is gonna give you the energy during the day with no crash/cravings/hunger and the carbs at dinner gonna help your body relax and get the proper sleep. Also watch your omega 3 vs omega 6 intake.
Also, you are not eating a true med diet; you are just assembling fruits and veggies. Med diet is cooked veggies, beans, peas, stews, spinach is cooked, you know, usually. I would like for you to succeed in your youtube attempts, but you can't cook, and you are slim as it is. Find your own niche, we know how to cook Med, and that is not how. No doubt you are a year into this and not popular.
I was sooo interested in the Mediterranean diet because of all the health benefits then found out I have silent reflux and can't eat almost all the common ingredients in this diet😭💔
It doesn't look like enough food at every meal. I'd definitely need some rice or oats or something. More veggies. But it does all look good as foundation recipes.
Hi Rebella, It is a plant based diet, but that doesn't mean there isn't meat, chicken or fish, it just means that the base of the diet is fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, seeds and whole grains (plus olive oil). Animal products are eaten much less and generally considered a condiment.
I agree with @mediterraneanliving. I've also heard the terms "plant-forward" and "plant-rich" to describe it which I think do a nice job of capturing the real goal and that is to put plant foods first when building a menu or meal :)
Please share a plant based low carb diet as many believe it is either keto heavy meat or vegan high carb. It is possible to be vegan and low carb plus be very healthy. It can be high in fibre rich leafy greens and other vegetables, avocado, olives, cacao coconut, berries, edamame, tempeh, tofu, Kimchi, nuts, seeds, unsweetened non dairy milk and yogurt to name a few
Some people need to go gluten free for other conditions too, not just celiac. This is quite an ignorant comment and just negative for no reason. Jordan wasn't advocating for everyone to go gluten free; that is a decision she made for herself. If you watch her other videos you will see she has pcos. Many people with pcos see improvements in their condition when they cut out gluten.
My doctor has actually told me to do the Mediterranean diet for my insulin resistance. There is a lot of scientific backing for the Mediterranean diet lowering your blood sugar and bad cholesterol, so I'm not sure why you're saying this? Nevertheless, you should always listen to what your own doctor says is best for you.
@@lily5952i agree. I too went Mediterranean diet after being diagnosed pre diabetic. My last bloods showed a huge difference. I’m out of danger zone. So I agree this is the best way of eating for pre diabetes. I was advised it was the best meal plan. Simple, tasty and easy to adapt to your taste. It’s salt that’s the issue. I use it sparingly as it retains a lot of fluid in the body and makes blood pressure rise.
I'll be totaly HONEST-- I began watching this because you're CUTE!!! I'd love to be 30 years younger and find a lady as sweet and cute as you... BUT-- once I saw what you're doing-- I'm very interested. I'm checking on MAKER's DIET (bible based diet- by Jordan Rubin) and it basically is THE Ultimate Meditarranen diet!!! GREAT VIDEO- an thanks..(oh- and that was JUST a well deserved COMPLIMENT-- nothing more)..
