As a type 1 diabetic, I hope you NEVER charge for an update for SOFTWARE for hardware that they ALREADY own. That bit at the end made me worried. I'm looking at getting a new pump and if you charge for software updates after Dec 2021, I will be looking elsewhere.

I’m using 670g pump and honestly it looks similar to the new pump except for the 770g app capability which I think can be achieved by just a software update since there is a wireless connection already built in in the pump to connect the pump with the CGM bd the meter. I like the auto mode but it is not as good as the guests were saying. First of all, it is not reliable; the pump kicks me out of it whenever I need it the most, when my blood glucose level goes high or low. Second, it doesn’t prevent me from lows. I have severe lows when I’m on the auto mode. Also, it doesn’t prevent me from lighs too. I think this is related to the garden sensor which is not accurate at all. I’m currently using Abbott FreeStyle Libre besides the Garden and the results of the libre is similar to the results I have from the glucose-meter. Even though the Abbott libre CGM does not require calibration as compared to the Garden. Anyways, Medtronic is a good pump but you can’t really on it that much and it is very inconvenient annoying.

I been on the 670 for four years and they called me and told me the warranty is all done and time for a new pump. I’m not sure what to do. I have the same problem as you. Every morning if I don’t get up and eat something in the middle of the night I’ll go low at about 5 am and it starts waking you up. Same thing when your high it keeps you up all night. When I’m high niw I switch over to manual mode. I increase my basal amount fir four five hours and sleep all night. I think we all have the same problem. I asked the rep why it keeps banging ypu with insulin when it senses you going down below a hundred. Overall it’s a great pump. Better than jabbin yourself. Did that since 1964. All the best.

I still did not know what this red square with the "1" in the middle meant - I did call the 800# mentioned. She did track it down and it means the sensor is ready to be replaced ... -Why didn't I get this for the first sensor? - Why did the first sensor just fail and only give "sensor fail" as a message? ((770G-UI (user interface) still needs work))

@Tom-ru9ds
@Tom-ru9ds 3 года назад
On the 670g, that is how I was using it - with a separate Freestyle 14-day system and I would put the BG in manually for the bolus. - - - I upgraded to the 770G and started with a sensor. The sensor failed and I went to manual entering the BG using the up-down arrows. The 770G picked up without any problems. Converting back to using the sensor was minimal effort as well since mine was already "coupled" to the blue-tooth transmitter. I do recommend the "suspend before low" - after a couple of nights getting used to it, I could sleep a lot better. - - - That said, I am having some confusion about emergency versus informational alerts in auto-mode. I think these issues can be worked out.

When will minimed get it, two AA batteries make this pump very heavy. Also, I’m assuming, that like its predecessors the battery life is very short. I am currently using an old minimed Paradigm pump. I upgraded once with a minimed pump that had two AA batteries, it was very heavy and batteries had to be changed sometime after two weeks. The old paradigm pump I have runs for THREE months on ONE AAA battery and is much lighter. WAKE UP MINIMED!!!!!

Based on what I read on the website they linked: Nothing at all is different except for the app connectivity. This may (or may not) be a big deal since you'll have all that juicy data at your finger tips instead of having to offload using the BGM like with the 630g.
