I was introduced to Meek around 2012ish when he was releasing all his popular songs. I was up in college at East Stroudsburg University, a little north of Philly, and his influence on the school was strong. A lot of Philadelphians go to that school; I'm just a guy from Central Jersey. Anyhow, I remember one night being in a house party and Dreams n Nightmares came on and I had to physically leave the hot basement before the drop came because I wasn't mentally prepared for the mosh pit or fluent enough in the lyrics to sing along so I didn't wanna look like a poser. Anyway I get up to the kitchen and downstairs I just hear this huge, deep roar when the drop comes (which isn't even my favorite part of the song, I like the beginning). The house was vibrating, and at that moment as I stood there motionless staring at a dirty frat house sink with a red cup in my hand, bass blaring under my feet, listening to the people going insane downstairs, I became a Meek Mill fan.
