bobolinkr Omg u r NUTS! She did not overact at all.....she seemed so natural. That coffee scene was everyone’s dream come true and she absolutely nailed it! Please explain urself
In 2011 we entered a dark age. Last decade is lost. Movies by Marvel, and angry hordes of grievance studies acolytes infesting their emotionally-abusive mind tyranny on others
Good job, it takes a lot of guts to train your charisma like this, scary to get rejected. I kinda wish guys (and gals) would do this, the western world just seems rather cold and individual that you rarely meet anyone spontaneously.
Nowadays you can hardly ever have a nice conversation like this anywhere because everyone and their mothers are glued to their phone... You try to spark up a conversation and the other person will think you're some kind of weido.
Watching them made me realize how much I miss the days where there is no Pandemic yet and I'd just sit in the coffee shop alone and enjoy my coffee while watching people ❤.
I don't know, man. I tried this a couple times. You strike out most of the time, but every now and then, it works and I most definitely don't look like a young Brad Pitt. You just have to read the clues properly. Sometimes, no means no and you need to back off asap and respect their wish to be alone, sometimes no means try a little harder and we'll see and sometimes, they'll be interested in you right away. Doesn't always lead to something working out between you and them, but at least you'll have tried. Even the ones that shoot you down right away and express zero interest in you are usually pretty civil about turning you down, provided you don't come across as too much of a creep or weirdo.
It is a two way street, there were 2 women at that table but he spoke to the more attractive girl, so it isn't just about looking like Brad Pitt you always have to be pretty for men to even be interested. So for all the guys whining they don't look like Brad Pitt it is tough for women too because we are judged unworthy of even striking up a conversation based on looks.
I talk easily to people everywhere and have very often spoken to the man next to me, it has led to three proposals ( marriage) and a few 'flings'. I never understand why people are so reserved but you have to be polite and respectful and know when to stop talking and above all 'how to listen' so it's not all about you. Men need to be understood as old fashioned as that sounds.
P G man i was only 14 twenty yrs ago but man did i have a hard on for Claire Forlani. She just oozed feminity, a trait that is increasingly becoming extinct in the 21st century.
I think this is an excellent movie. I don't understand why the reviews were not better. I saw the original and liked that too. I've owned this movie on VHS and now DVD. And whatever the next media is if I"m still around I'll own that too. Brad Pitt in this movie reminds me, in looks and mannerisms, of a young Robert Redford.
Claude C I don't think so,Brad is infinitely better looking and lithe Redford looked great but he worked out a lot to control his weight; early in his career in "the twilight Zone" TV years he was pudgy. whereas Pitt seemed to have been blessed with the metabolism of a hummingbird lean, muscular and and devoid of fat, great body composition even today at 55 he looks pretty fucking fit it has got to be genetic!
god i felt the same about this movie. Ditto to everything you said ! .........its one of the most poignant movies I've watched and this scene for me is one of the best male female interactions
Watched this movie countless times. Even bought the original CD and fell in love with Joe and Susan all over again. “Find someone you can love like crazy and who will love you the same way back” 🥰
I love Brad's acting in this film. His acting became very defined and fine tuned at this point in his career. I find that he has a talent of endearing himself to the audience and his fans. His acting draws the viewer in as if he is an old soul and one has known him for years and years. God Bless this man. I remember seeing him in a SunChips commercial years ago.
As a Missouri boy, I have a friend who was in a Journalism class with Brad while he was at Mizzou. She said that he was grungy, not surprising for college, but that when he got up to present in front to the class there was something about him that you couldn't keep your eyes off of him. I guess he figured out how to use THAT pretty well!
I miss coffee shops like this. On Saturdays, when I was 11, I would mow a lawn or two, and with the money go to the local coffee shop and order a banana split. Great experience.
I love how they "mirror" on the cup of coffee. BTW She is a perfect example of the Total being greater than the sum of the parts. Striking young woman!
The Pitt man in action, knows his looks and knows how to flaunt it. It’s a good thing there is only one of him. Not passing on how beautiful that girl is.
It's really pretty easy to score with a beautiful woman in a cafe. If you have BP's looks. Had a crush on Claire Forlani after seeing this flick. Never understood why she didn't make more movies. Wonderful expressions and timing.
This film is so underrated. I mean, no one speaks the way they speak in this film, but I think that's the point. Extremely well written script. Brilliant acting. One of my top films.
He is out of law school, lacking money. The suit represents this, as it is a cheap suit; maybe used, even. She is of refinement, sees even the cheap suit, but 'likes him so much' anyway.
The Hottest Blonde actor of his era, lusted after his smile and his cute dimples an the wholesome boy next door demeanour, I really think he was playing himself in this whole movie, a good old boy from the deep South with traditional values and beliefs a perfect husband material xxxxbless
You don't want his looks, it would be a curse, you'd constantly be thinking about your appearance, and it would ruin your character, women would come too easily for you so then you dont know when to stop, becuse you know you can have another the very next day. I'd much rather have a great personality with decent looks, doesnt need to be spectacular.
This is such a sweet and genuine scene. People always focus on the fact that this scene has two very attractive people, and they miss how wonderfully shot and acted this scene happens to be. I think that's sad because people just end up missing the best part of this scene because they're concentrating on something so superficial and immaterial like appearance.
well jeez louise its so prominant how could you not? its why i dont watch many hollywood movies. this is a nice movie and yes well acted, but everything about it from the plot to the actors looks is so unrealistic i cant get into it. and the filming is also too on the nose perfect. well actually, more than that its the blaring melodramatic music that bugged me the most. a shame because there is a quieter, sweeter movie underneath all that hollywood sheen.
Tiger74147 Only when he said she was beautiful did she become uncomfortable, up until then she was totally digging him. Even asking questions back like "So you're a one girl guy" guess you don't know body language
Love this show each time I watch it. Brad hope you had a Happy Birthday. I'm sure ever woman you co-starred with has fell in love with you. Always a fan of you. Love ya, KGM
Since this film played in theater for the first time (1999 if I'm not mistaken) until now May 2020 I've been watch it for more 200 times.. Love this movie so much, especialy with anthony hopkins with his lovely accent, Brad pitt with his oustanding act.. My greatest movie of all time.. Greeting from Indonesia #stayathome
I've just used the blender for the first time to make crunchy peanut butter and after having a roll with it and jam, I'm now eating it with a spoon out of the blender container. This made me think of Joe Black. I love the above scene.
@SevenThunderful I guess in his younger days he wasn't as a good actor as he is now, but you're right, maybe it's his good looks. Needless to say, Leonardo DiCaprio wasn't that great of an actor either like he is now.
If death can fall in love. Nothing is impossible! This film is pure. Genuine. The cast is amazing. To portray the confusion of love when you’re death, nothing short of divine! The angels that sinned will never comprehend love by natural birth. The beauty of the feeling. That understanding of knowing you adore the individual so you will cherish her/him forever.
The photography in this movie was excellent.Brad,Claire,Hopkins were all looked excellent. The BGM and screen play. There was no rush.Pure emotions and Love
Totally unbelievable that she just glances over at Brad Pitt then proceeds to ignore him. She would have been dying to stare at him and have him talk to her.
"Nothing Lasts" .... a foretelling clue, almost in 700 year old Dante's style to embed in a story, about the role gravitas that will literally embody him and both (as most us) do not pay attention how fast Life passes or gone in the less expected instant. The many layers of great script this story sold as a fairy tale fantasy Rom-com almost as if a minor Italian operetta tutti fan tutte, make it be underrated by many. The performances between the characters, specially sir Anthony bring back the pendulum balance firmly anchored about the tragedy that would unfold and pends upon all of our heads. Meet Joe, sooner or later everyone has and Joe is also a lonely ghost like we all become leaving alone to where he will come.
YEAH THIS ONE OF MANY MOVIES N SCENE, FOR SURE TAKES ME BACK TO THOSE DAYS OF WHEN THIS ACTUALLY OCCURED WITH THE REAL TWO CHARACTERS ....BACK IN 1994-1995 AT DUNKIN DONUTS
I was just about to whinge about the crappy 240p then I saw you uploaded this in 2008 lol. My bad, that was pretty top knotch back then haha. Thanks for sharing, i've always loved this scene. And the one in the chopper with her dad.
Brad to the director “so what’s my motivation for this scene?” , “well brad you play a really good looking guy trying to hit on the next attractive wom........” Brad “........got it!” And scene! 😜
I know the reality is that Brad is playing a character; but somehow can't help but feel this is who he is as a person. I love the two of them in this film. Great casting. He never looked so good in his life. He's still so handsome and cool, but I loved him in this and Legends of the Fall. He is seriously one of a kind actor and person. Claire as well such a beautiful person and special actor.
Love this scene its so authentic and its mysterious as well. Have never met a woman in a coffee shop before. It would be so nice especially if you don't know one another like these two.
Must be great meeting angels... "Send down upon them, O Lord, the concourse of the angels in heaven and earth and all that is between, to aid Thy servants, to succour and strengthen them, .." ~ Baha'i Faith
