And now it's over. Kanan Jarrus fought in the Clone Wars, survived Order 66, Co-Founded the Spectre Rebel Cell, gave a lost boy purpose, defeated the Grand Inquisitor, survived Vader, became Knighted through the force, thwarted Maul, helped provide the Rebel Alliance the crucial starting ground it needed to grow, and gave his life saving the woman he loved and their future son, completing their mission in the process. Through the Dark Times he was a shining light to the end.
4 years. 4 years of watching this character grow from a reluctant man who only did what he needed to do to survive, to a true jedi master, a vital part of the Star Wars universe. I miss him already.
What about The Clone Wars Bonus Content? I hope Rebels will have story and animation at least as good as TCW, if not, I will be angry. Also: 1313, why it was canceled? And Detours? And what will happen to Expanded Universe? Any details? Why Lucasfilm is not telling us anything? After Disney took over we only saw cancelations and chaos, Episode VII in production is not enough, we don't know if it will be even good, and how it will work with EU. Is Star Wars going for casual fans and moviegoers? What about FANS that were buying Star Wars products for all those years, reading all those CANON stories? So many questions, doubts... I'm worried.
From the first time I saw this video, before Rebels aired, I knew Kanan would be one of my all time favorites. He didn't disappoint! What an awesome character and I was so sad to see him go.
Kanan reminds me of a Ronin (Samurai Warrior without a master) A guy on the edge, having the skills of a jedi but also not being tied down to all their rules. I can't wait for this show
People have been saying this is "Disney's Aladdin meets Firefly" and using it as a derogatory. But you know what? That sounds freaking awesome to me! I'm completely fine with that.
Every one is so quick to hate on the show just because its from disney?! K fist off its being made by the clone wars creator and the young justice creator let me tell you young justice IS AMAZING its on Netflix go watch it. 2nd have any of you watched the show? Nope so how do you know if its ganna be good or bad? YOU DONT. It's a joke if any of you consider yourself's Star Wars fans you should be loyal instead of talking a bunch of shit..... Such little faith. GIVE THE SHOW A CHANCE.
I just wanted to say thank you for saying this!!!! for the rest of everyone who doesn't understand: Disney is just financing it and gets some of the profit. DISNEY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS!!!!! Lucasfilm is still it's own separate company just as Pixar and Muppets are.
I agree. I'm not hating on this show because it's being made by The Clone Wars creators. I remember people saying The Clone Wars was gonna be shit too. I remember people hating on Ahsoka Tano. Now we have people wanting The Clone Wars back, people who love Ahsoka Tano, and people wanting Ahsoka, Captain Rex, Boil, Jesse, and even Cad Bane to make an appearance in this show.
I'm just not content on the way it looks, it just looks too kiddish, I know that Star Wars might not even be aimed for people our age but at least Clone Wars put forth that effort to appeal to all audiences.
im a huge star wars fan thats why I'm upset that its in the hands of a company called disney who's screwed on multiple things in the past I'm loyal to the original things and ways of star wars not whats going to happen in the future of star wars I'm a an of the source of star wars not not for what its going to be and i hope that disney doesn't ruin it george lucas should've kept it as it is and just left it as that
"There are many contradictions in you. And in him. Be warned, you may never see your future if you remain his student! Leave this planet!" ―Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) Easter Egg? Foreshadowing? I think so. :D
Alvaro De Grandes yep sadly (or not if you didn't like them) TFU and TFU2 are both confirmed to be no longer cannon. Just part of the what if-story line.
***** search around but there a twitter post from a guy who's is the new cannon decide group that said pretty much only the movies and TCWs was cannon. Bin posted a few times in forums and such so I can back that part up.
The Cowboy Jedi..? Only thing that can save this is if Ahsoka is in it and there's finally a conclussion to her story. Vader vs. Ahsoka would be so tragic but at the same time SOOO awesome.
Here are Clone Wars characters I hope they bring back in Rebels: Ahsoka Tano (obviously) Asajj Ventress Darth Maul Shaak Ti and Maris Brood (There should be an episode where the characters go to Felucia and cross paths with her and Maris Brood) The Younglings from Season 5 (Now as young adults) Lux Bonteri The Onderon Rebels The Bounty Hunters (Boba Fett, Bossk, Cad Bane, Sugi, Embo, Latts Razzi, and Durge) The Kage Species (Krismo Sodi's species, which appeared in a Season 4 episode of the Clone Wars)
Maul's fate will probably be resolved in the comic mini series based on the scripts they had planned from the clone wars this summer. The younglings were probably killed by Anakin and the troopers in Ep.III (personally not too torn up about that) and I doubt they are going to reference anything with the Force Unleashed. Ahsoka, Asajj, Rex, and the others however are very likely to show up.
MrWolfi7 I would love to see them do a story about Rex as an aging clone, cast aside by an empire which no long needs him. It could go into how he felt about being used as a pawn to wipe out the Jedi and how the original clones were replaced by the Stormtroopers.
***** I actually hope Ahsoka and Darth Vader confront eachother and Ahsoka seeing Anakin in this state for the first time. What would Darth Vader do??? And what kind of reaction will Ahsoka have.
I do hope they meet along the way, I just always felt like she was going to have the next story and this one really does fit her. She said she had to "find her own way" after leaving the Jedi. So it makes perfect sense. Would have loved to seen her advancement than have her as a guest star only. Either way I think this will be good however :)
I'd love it if they had the Inquisitor kill Kanan early on to show that the Empire means business with respect to Force-users, then have any training that Ezra receives come from Ahsoka. Just my two cents. I just want them to wrap up the whole plot of Rebels before Luke gets off the farm since it sort of takes away from Return of the Jedi if a bunch of them are kicking around being rebels while Luke is getting trained.
You're welcome. It could be like this. When they would confront, he might not kill her cause of them knowing eachother well and her being his old apprentice. And this feeling makes Ahsoka sensing there is still good in him. He do might ask for her to join him first but she refuses. He lets her go after a lightsabre battle or she escapes and she tries and finds Obi-Wan who is in Tatooine. Making her ask Obi-Wan if there is still hope for him.
A lot of people complain about kanan because he is cocky and less wise firstly when order 66 took place he was a padawan who still had a lot too learn so when his master died he had to train himself and without the influence of his master he had to go by his own morals and his childish cocky traits never left as a result so stop hating and stop bitching. starkiller sucks and everyone loves him but do you think vader would really get his ass whopped so easy you must remember he is still a very powerful sith lord and was beaten by the most powerful jedi in the galaxy and proberly one of the most powerful
I second that. Kanan was probably a teenager (14) when Order 66 took place. For all we know, Kanan saw his Master die in front of him and then later finds out that the rest of the Jedi were killed off. That itself leaves invisible wounds of being a sole survivor.
Kings right..if you go read new dawn ... Kanan actually has HORRIBLE ptsd. He hides it well because he has to function, but he saw his master murdered BY ANAKIN. One of those children in the council chamber when anakin comes in IS kanan/ Kaleb. His master was able to get him out of there and save him but she got her head cut off allowing him to get away. He also FELT every single jedi that died when order 66 happened. For about five years until he met hera he actually did a LOT of negative things trying to cope and almost NEVER used his ablities. By the time the series start's he's healed a lot but still is scared, and reluctant to use his jedi powers. Hera helped him and i believe that the two of them DO have a relationship. but there;s still a part of Kanan that will NEVER be the same. A lot of his smart assiness is defensive. Like: I dont wanna get to close because I am terrified of loosing EVERYTHING i love .. again. The crew of the ghost has managed to do a lot just getting him to care as much as he does. But there's still a big part of kanan that is guarded. Thats why i like lil dude ezra so much. Because he's able to crack that shell around Kanan. There is a huge ammount of innocence in ezra, and I think that is what draws Kanan to him. That sense of hope.
If I was kanan I would probably never be able to look a lightsaber let alone use it without thinking about that day his master died. That would scar anyone for life
Xerneas brony actually if you watch spark of rebellion.. He has IT ON HIM... its on his belt durring the speeder chase.. You just have no idea what it IS because its in two bits. He diliberately PUT it in that drawer as bait for ezra.. so he could find out if the Runt had force sensitivity. ALSO.. if you look behind ezra when he finds the saber.. kanan has a jedi bean bag in his room ( ya know one of those thingers yoda sits on when hes meditating) so either those were bait .. or hes practicing more than he lets on. but actually yah hes got issues.. and they are ONLY GONNA GET WORSE after what happened last week.
Filoni, you created another favorite character of mine!!! :D This guy looks awesome! He even reminds me of Luke with how he uses both a blaster and a lightsaber ("Return of the Jedi"). I just couldn't imagine this series without at least one Jedi so seeing one is extremely awesome!!!
Star Wars Rebels looks very intriguing. I hope they use the style, art work, and some of the story from SW: The Clone Wars. Ahsoka Tano is perhaps my favorite character of the Star Wars mythos. I would hope that she gets introduced and involved in this series as well. Bringing her back please!
Oh my gosh! Kanan is absolutely...GORGEOUS! I'm in love! I don't want to sound like I condone violence or anything, but my hopes for the show increased when I watched the storyboard at 1:53, when Kanan shot the clone trooper (er...stormtrooper). I'm just relieved they are keeping up with the same atmosphere of Star Wars, including fighting styles and combat scenes. Anyway...I love you, Kanan Jarrus. And tell me he isn't totally hot at 2:12? *squeal* Can't wait for Rebels!
Why?Why can't they just make a truly mature SW game and/or show that depicts actual war where the Particle Beam weapons just leave large holes in people? Republic Commando did a pretty good job at something like this and it was rated for teens.
***** Or if it's going to have lot's of bloody action which isn't made so that whiny kids won't cry or supposedly go nuts for some reason. Honestly this whole PEGI thing is complete bullshit.
To be honest i like what they are going for with these caracters. I like the idea of lazy droid that is basicly build from spareparts. I like the idea of more laidback jedi who has kind of given up being a jedi.
I think it would've been cooler if they kept the fact that he's a jedi from these trailers and featurets. Cowboy rebel with a mysterious past is cool enough as it is. Imagine watching that episode where he stands in the middle of a firefight revealing his lightsaber for the first time. Would have been an epic reveal.
OK I see a lot of hate here and I really don't know why. I think that this is going to be a great series. The writers and producer have certainly done some amazing things in the past such as Avatar (the series not the movie). On the subject of the characters I think that they are really interesting and original. Quite frankly I am looking forward to Star wars rebels. This is MY opinion, feel free to agree or disagree but please respond responsibly.
I agree completely. they keep complaining and complaining like they've seen this show already. and all of them r like, "Walt Disney is rolling in his grave". being a Disney fan, I probably know more about him than these people, and by saying that they just insulted him. im really angry...
Why are people already hating so much on this show? I mean it didn't even air one episode? This are just previews, you can't judge the whole show by them. Just calm down until we at least see a few episodes, then you can call it bullshit and blame Disney for it. Don't you remember, this was the same situation like when The Clone Wars came out and now at the end everybody wants more episodes of that show and finds it awesome. :) Most of the viewers at the beginning hated Ahsoka, and then when the show gets canceled and she leaves the jedi order they want her back??
Scratch that! Put Master Rahm Kota, in there! He never had a clone squad! So yea, put Master Kota! That guy is a stand alone jedi, with his VERY own militia!!!
I was hoping this would be a cartoon animated series rather than CGI. Is anyone EVER going to make a Star Wars anime? Just imagine all the epic swordfights and power battles from Bleach and Naruto but with Star Wars. Wouldn't that be awesome?
Sounds pretty bleh, especially thinking of the akward red light green light fight style of bleach, and the oh so horrific rubber-hose style fight animation of naruto, such as the pain vs naruto fight.
Ae7herium Nah, that ain't the problem. Problems with the fact that they can't get out of the emo rut, or the stories over and the characters development is done. XD
For one, anime is not synonymous with emo pretty boys. Besides, I was merely suggesting an anime style for the shows animation. The CGI looks fine for starships and tank battles but for things like people, clothing and organic environments it doesn't quite...flow. Now if every episode was animated with the detail and fluidness of say FFVII Advent Children or Brave then it would look better, but of course that would be too difficult to pull off. However all these are moot points. If the writing and story are at least engaging and entertaining then to hell with what animation style they're using.
The Clone Wars was mature almost from the start. People getting tortured to death, necks being snapped, soldiers blowing themselves up (like the clone in Rookies), people being suffocated in space... I could go on but I won't.
Why do people complain? Star Wars Universe is forever evolving and new ideas need to be brought to the table, I personally think this will be nice and this Kanan seem quite bad ass ^^
Totally agree. Except that this idea isn't as new as some might think and has been done in the STAR WARS Expanded Universe before. For example, the character of Jedi Knight Jax Pavan featured in the 'SW: Coruscant Nights' trilogy of novels is very similar to Kanan..
Those guys producers, artists, designers etc. Grew up watching Star Wars it doesn´t seem, the animation art concept is not Star Wars, It is Pixar. Star Wars has its own style or universe for over 37 years.
And he's basically Han Solo, he's basically Kyle Katarn, he's basically Cade Skywalker blah blah blah. You 'fans' have never noticed that they continuously recycle character types?.. You're only complaining about it now?
Apparently this guy "started the Rebellion" in this universe? So, we're just throwing Galen Marek, Mon Mothma, and all of the other Rebel Leaders under the bus, hm?
***** Actually Galen Marek's whole story was originally going to be star wars episode 5 but George Lucas scrapped it. So he was not just some random made up character like this new one is.
Yeah no video game characters that's bunko. It always pissed me off that George just decided to shoehorn in this generic buzz cut-wearing grunt looking dude as the founder of the Rebellion? No thanks.
"Oh my, a snarky Jedi with a blaster who's adrift in the galaxy, I've never seen anything like this before!" Has anyone at Disney even read anything AU? I'm starting to think they probably haven't even watched the original trilogy.
In the clone wars you literally see people get shot, shot in the face at point blank range, killed, exploded, smashed, theres even blood in that show...idk if i can go to this kid friendly stuff.
Good idea that will appeal to fans: include General Kota, Juno Eclipse, and mentions of Starkiller (Garen Marek) in the show. Same goes with Bail Organa, Bel Iblis and Princess Leia. They WERE the ones who created the rebellion.
We cant hate the show just yet I mean it might be kid friendly and not as much serious action like in the clone wars but instead of hating wait until it airs to judge
ndwwrestler2 Bonus Content is just a couple of finished episodes, but no way they are going to give any closure to the lose ends. Darth Maul? Buy the comic. Ahsoka? Left in the void. Ventress? Boba? Death Watch? Cad Bane? Hondo? All those separatists leaders in prison? They don't care. We don't deserve the slap in the face to us viewers and to them creators that has been it's sudden cancelation.
Juansaman López It's finished Episodes, but it will give closure to a couple of things. And wasn't Ahsoka arc basically already closed? Does she have to die in order for it to be finished?
ndwwrestler2 Of course she doesn't need to die, I didn't say that. But I don't buy that as a closure. Having one of the main characters of the series leaving the way she did so suddenly in the last seconds of the season finale doesn't feel like a proper ending. It's like "then she stop being a Jedi and because of that she wasn't killed during Order 66 so no worries". However, I can bash as long as I want and that won't change anything. The series is over and that's her ending wether I like it or not. :/ Now that you mention it, what things are going to be closed?
I am looking forward to seeing more of this character. I am a big fan of Jedi characters and I am interested in seeing where this characters story arc will go. First impression is he kinda reminds me of Rahm Kota from The Force Unleashed with the samurai top knot but is mixed with another Jedi named Dass Jennir who prefers to use a blaster instead of his lightsaber. Hopefully this series will be as good as Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Looking forward too it!
They have Star Wars Clone Wars ends where Episode 3 beings and they just announced that Netflix will stream the final season of Star Wars The Clones Wars on March 7th. As well as the full series.
Look up Kyle Katarn. He was basically the first cowboy Jedi. And he used freaking _Force lightning_ while claiming that it wasn't dark side. So yeah, Star Wars ruined your childhood WAY before this guy came along.
No hate here, but fyi 'Rouge' is a shade of the colour red. I think you are looking for the word 'Rogue'... Although a Rouge Jedi would be funny, maybe what they'd call a Pure Blood Sith turn Lightside and maybe a little camp - "Does this robe make my ass look big"! Also, Rogue Jedi's essentially went against the Jedi Order and/or more towards the Darkside. I think a Cowboy Jedi would be a good way to describe one who was a little wayward but not necessarily bad. I don't think a Rogue Jedi is far off a Dark Jedi.
Freddie still looks good because of his genetics. But he looks like he's my age, and I am 7 years older than he is. Makes me wonder how much he'll age by the time he's nearing 45. Not well, I presume.
I have a theory on how his character arc is going to end, in the beginning he is going to be a kick ass guy with a blaster, then when they start the rebellion he begins to go back to his training and the lightsaber comes out, after a series or 2 with him he will grow into a better man, he will be a better leader and teach ezra the way of the force, then he faces a new threat in a dark sith acolyte, he duels them and maybe kills one or two of them but will eventually have to sacrifice himself for the group while they escape and if he hasn't got one already give his lightsaber to ezra to use and he kills kanans killer and through the force he still teaches ezra until he is a jedi like he was, when this is through he will say his goodbye to the group much like obi-wan did in the comics and his arc will end with him transending to become one with the force. I think that would be an epic way to go. In addition to this as a side not how epic would it be if they did a obi-wan guest star which involved him coming back for one or two episodes then deciding not to enter the war just yet as he made a promise to protect luke, just long enough though for one last major fight that shows off all of his power, maybe even finish kanan's training as he was only a padawan/youngling during the jedi purge
Very much looking forward to this! I just hope I get to see "Star Wars: Rebels" on TV...I have no clue on which channel it will end up airing...but yeah this should be most interesting, we never really got to see how the Rebel Alliance was born (out of the old Separatist movement) and really what life was like between Ep. III and IV! Especially for all the surviving Jedi! This dude, Kanan sounds like a bad ass! Just think, this guy has retained all the Jedi training and power but is no longer bound by the Jedi Code. He uses all types of weapons as well as the lightsaber! I mean what can be better than an unhinged, pissed off Jedi, who doesn't really give a shit! Besides why are people soo worried, it is pretty much the same team that was in charge of "Clone Wars" who is in charge of "Rebels"!!! As for "Clone Wars" it could not have gone on much longer and as well as we get to see the remaining episodes of what would have been Season 6, then I am more than fine, it will have a decent conclusion! As all fans know, "Star Wars: Clone Wars" was Star Wars done right! I hope "Star Wars: Rebels" is the same...and I'm getting the feeling it will! Besides, come on we get to see new characters besides the ones we already know!
When I say animation I mean the style of how the characters were animated. Yes I would have loved to see more SWTCW and watch more seasons but Disney bought it and now it's going on the DisneyXD channel which is meant for little kids so I guess that means no more crazy fight to the death scenes like with the Bounty Hunters and lets Not Forget Darth Maul and Sidious. Unless... They put it late at night so basically it would be the Adult Swim of CN so... I'm just still mad how they didn't continue the old series and they probably could have showcased events about Order66 and then led up to the rebellion idk It's up to the people who work at the big corporations I guess not really fans. -_- :|
I feel for you Kanan. The Feels. BE STRONG CALEB!/ KANAN!.( The yelling Kanan drawing xD ) Wow this gives the creeps slightly xD _~ May The Force Be With You_ ( Kanan ) ;3
Can't wait for this to be out. My son already loves the clone wars cartoons and he is only 3. He was brought up right though and refuses to watch Episodes 1 and 2. He likes 3, but his favorite is 5 :)
