I purchased one of these and returned it within hours. First of all, this video says “no knobs.” THERE IS A KNOB at the top that is used to attach the SLR to the bed. And the joints require an Allen wrench to tighten or loosen, so those are essentially “knobs”-and annoying ones if you don’t happen to have an Allen wrench with you. The whole contraption is top heavy with an SLR mounted, so every time you make an adjustment, you have to stand on the base of have sandbags to prevent it from moving. And you CANNOT use an SLR in portrait position. I went out and managed to attach an excellent tripod head on the bed of the arm, but since the bed is so needlessly wide, when you try and rotate the SLR into a vertical position, the bed gets in the way. WHY not design this with a simple mechanism for panning and tilting built in? BECAUSE I gather they want you to buy their other things, which incidentally are not compatible with this stand either.
Omg, I’m ready to sell one of my manfrottos for this, love this concept SO MUCH. And at first I thought the price was crazy but then I looked at what my manfrottos are selling for new and those prices are crazier!!!
Speak for yourself, sure it's good marketing but I really really need this. It's a pain to constantly adjust the camera when filming alone, if you need multiple angles. Filming already slows any project to a crawl, so the less fiddling with the camera the better.
I love my StandPLUS and use it all the time. Easy to set up, easy to store, no inconvenient tripod legs, adjustable height and angle and great for making and 'how to' videos. Great product and perfectly reasonable price for a solidly made piece of equipment. This product has saved me a huge amount of time and made lots of previously difficult shots possible. 👍👍👍👍
Really wanted to pick this up when they announced it years ago. Glad they finally released it. May not be a tool for everyone but I definitely have a use for it.
And you cannot use a ballhead with the stand. The bed for the SLR is too big and when you try and tilt the camera it bangs up against the side of the bed. Silly design.
I am just a simple cavemen, I use tripods, and good solids heads. Why? not sure maybe it is the great and solid engenireing? Maybe it is that I still have a professional Linhof tripod that is 60 years old that still beats out newer stuff. Oh and they want for this thing $500 LOL
Nice products, but this company is unresponsive if you have a complaint (defective product delivered). I would spend my money somewhere else. Years ago it was a primium brand with dito support, those days are gone.
@@anil-a Jip. Mailed, paypal dispute, mailed, mailed, mailed.... contacted via socials.... another message send via paypal... Nothing! Now starting to read a bit online and something is going on over there at Edelkrone. Think before buying. Even here.... not reacting on your own socail channel, what does that tell you about this brand? Not on top of things, just don't care. Lifting on a brandname that had a good reputation. I also contacted a couple of companies here in the EU that used to be resellers, let's just say they all tell roughly the same story. Lack of support, unresponsive.
Edelkrone is a Turkish company. So they have a middle eastern mentality. They made a lot of money and spoiled because it was previously unrivaled. Now the company is in a major crisis and is going bankrupt. Stay away from them.
