Today we are checking out the latest entry from one of my favorite microbrands. . . it's the new Leviathan 40. Closely resembles a Seiko Samurai, except it is only 40mm in diameter, the perfect size for so many wrists. It comes in 5 vibrant colors, each with sapphire crystal, sandblasted ceramic lumed bezel and amazing solid link bracelet.

The black highlighting on the indices really make the watch and the black border around the date improves legibility. This could rival Deep Blue and Islander for best value in entry level divers.

I love that yellow dial with the black handset - what a great looking watch. I'd buy it or the blue one - if I had the scratch, that is. Great video as usual, Marc.

'Baby Leviathan' - interesting oxymoron! Those colors are outstanding, but I'm really loving the White dial. 40mm is my sweet spot. I think your price structure for this is spot-on. I have purchased Phoibos watches from both you and their web-site, but I prefer to go through you whenever possible. Great work Marc!

This is hands down my current favorite Phoibos. Glad you can offer it at the introductory price. William Tran was a high school friend. His dad created Sriracha. The Spanish written on the bottle was written by our Spanish teacher. Talk about a rags to riches. He came up with the recipe at home and started selling it at swap meets. And the rest is history. Thanks for the great review as always!

Love my Phoibos’s. I have an original Wavemaster in black and the new Wavemaster GMT in silver. May need to pick one of these up.

I swear I get more questions and compliments on my red dial Phoibos Compressor than any other watch I own. Just an excellent watch. These watches are really cool too, and I'd have given an orange dial a long look if it weren't for the silver hands. Kind of a weird choice by Phoibos for that dial.

Oohh, that’s a looker!! Really my style. Yet I prefer my big king samurai, one of my most comfortable, favorite Seikos and watches overall. I own a Phoibos wavemaster abalone dial- brilliantly built and the dial is mesmerizing.

I like to think of Islander watches as EDC watches, not as micro brand. Love the Port Jefferson ISL-175 on Green Elastic Woven Nylon Strap with Red Stripe, I only wish that the dial of this watch was OD-green

I got the burnt orange dial Eagle Ray compressor watch - gorgeous dial on it and nice specs for the price. I have also gotten a couple of watches from Marc and cannot recommend him, his communication and quality of service highly enough.

I mean, im happy people get 40mm options, but honestly, i find 40mm to small for my wrist and prefer 42mm to 47mm so im glad they make those sizes. People come in different wrist sizes, so why can't we have both? I definitely find that good quality watches are harder to find in my dimensions, and 40mm is easy to find, so can't we encourage all watch sizes.

I don’t like their logo. That octopus is just too fussy, indiscrete, large and quite tacky. I wish they’d change it. Apart from that, Phoebus make very good and great value watches.
