I have did as well, I have 8 active, one semi active and many that don't come out at all. We range from age 24 down to 4 months old. The baby is the only active one that ages. He need to be fed out of a bottle. Oddly enough he can suck, swallow and breath at the same time. None of us can do that but him. I actually tried and damn near choked to death lol Us older ones are a bit harder to tell apart. We don't sound all that different from each other but our look, style and how we move all changes. We have two teenagers and they're normal teens so they're pretty easy to tell apart. There's two children ages 7 and 5. Again they're easily told apart from the rest of us. They walk, talk and look very much like children. Next is the toddlers who are 1 and 2 years old. They are easy to tell apart because well they have tantrums, walk and talk like babies and need allot of care. it's not a easy thing to have, yet it's not hard at the same time. the hardest part is public opinion of us, being called fakes by stranger's... things like that.

Healthepet veterinaria sometimes when the alters are in the "driver's seat" the "original" is not always conscious so there may have been a lot of times when the original would be in what is referred to as an amnesia state and not know what they ate what they did or who they were with for hours and sometimes days at a time. Most people that get diagnosed usually don't get a proper diagnosis until they are adults and have lived with the disorder for years while being treated for other things.

Ollie represents phlegmatic side. Normally people have 2 dominant character inside of them. And the orher 2 secunder character. But DID here we clearly see that Jess has all side as dominant character inside her body. Very interesting.. Try to read this book " Personality Plus" by Florence Littaeur. Important to have. I'd read that people with DID could have changes in their voice depending on the alter present, but merely reading about it, it's hard to actually imagine. And this video showcases that perfectly, in both tone & accents. My mind is straight blown. I think it's so awesome also they all know each other so well. Virtually every answer was the same across the board. Its fascinating how the mind can work in an effort to protect the "host."

Prince Peaches that's why we love Jess, Jake, Jamie, Ed, and Ollie. They show what the majority of us are like. Most multiples are kind, decent, wonderful people. Unfortunately the media and even the psychological community tend to portray otherwise.
@ChronicallyCurious
@ChronicallyCurious 6 лет назад
Yeah, that's just the media sucking. PDs (personality disorders) are mostly shown in a negative light. It's why so many people get freaked out and are really afraid if they think someone has DID or Schizophrenia (which a lot of people know so little about they oftentimes mix them up). But it's so much more likely for someone with one of these disorders to be a victim of a crime rather than a perpetrator and sometimes their disorders manifest as a result from a crime, or at least trauma. It's very disheartening and unsettling that it's how these things are portrayed. But it's a good note to remember to take everything with a grain of salt, because portrayals are very likely to be way way off from what actually happens for people who have these disorders and live with them day to day. I'm a psychology student and a writer and I'm very interested in trying to create a more realistic representation of DID, so I've been looking at the various portrayals in media. And while shows and movies may be entertaining (most recently Split), they are pretty damaging, increasing the stigma and stereotypes. It's going to be difficult to write something to be as accurate as possible (I mean, from a storytelling perspective, it's quite a few personalities sharing one physical body, and how do I show transitions and discovering new alters and code it so readers can know who's speaking up without having to be bashed over the head with it over and over?) but I really think it's something that's worthwhile. The more people who have the realization you had, the better, and accurate portrayals can do so much good to counter the bad that are continually pumped out to the masses. This is even more difficult than handling an adaption of the life of someone I knew with Lou Gehrig's. But worth it. Keep learning more information, keep curious, and at any point you can dispel some of these myths, I hope you speak up and help lessen the stigma just a bit.

Thank You so much for this!!! I was recently diagnosed wit D.I.D. ....surprisingly, at 51😱 It explained so much...missing time, conversations that I Swore never happened and Fights that I'd have no memory of, but would have bruises & such. I used to tell my son to stop kidding around when he'd tell me about Mae Mae,.shes 4 and evidently would play with him when he was little. I've found a great therapist who Specializes in DID & we're currently in the process of 'mapping' Everyone. Curious thing though...I (the host Robi) have Osteoarthritis in both hands/thumbs, both hips, my spine and my left leg & ankle...however, my main Alter Theresa, doesn't...She's the one who CLEANS my house for me😻 Then there's Boudicca...she's the #1 Protector, as in...She Will BEAT your ASS. So far, there's 3 Alters...we're still trying to talk to the one who remembers what happened to me....you see, I don't remember most of my childhood. I can tell you that a certain thing happened, but I couldn't tell you how old I was when it happened. In truth, I have no idea How Many 'we' are. So again.. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! @MultiplicityAndMe
@MultiplicityAndMe 7 лет назад
+Say I Love You Anime Because all negativity does is bode to the fact that we shouldn't be able to function or live and have relatively normal lives. The negativity makes me ill, but trying to be positive about my experiences helps me cope. Further more, it's breaking down the stereotype of people's idea of this terribly scary psycho killer illness, but the whole point in this disorder is a defence mechanism - a way to help a traumatised child cope without the memories attached. This is the way I choose to help break the stigma and I apologise if that doesn't suit your expectations
@kacreative22
@kacreative22 7 лет назад
K. I don't think you get what I'm trying to say. It's fine to be positive and I understand everyone has different ways of coping..But I'm saying that it's not good for people to be commenting stuff that possibly could be more harming than helpful. Like saying that you're disorder is cute or applauding the fact that each different one has a unique sounding voice. Like this is a serious issue is it not? then why do people make it sound like it's something that you want to do to be cute or funny?

Unfortunately DID isnt something you're born with or you can make up. Real DID is caused by very extreme childhood trauma that has been repeated over a period of time. So, inorder to deal/cope during those traumatic events, the brain goes into survival mode and thus creating the different altars to help you to forget or protect you. Some even have a bit of amnesia during the altars and cant remember what happened because the altar took over.

It is very real. But you are not born with it. It develops over time as a defense mechanism. This disorder is often caused by childhood trauma that keeps happening over and over, such as repeated sexual, physical, or emotional abuse. Of course, the causes are often much more multifaceted than this, but I’m giving a brief explanation. It's real but anyone can snap out of it with proper treatment. I guess some people just don't want the voices in their head to go away.

Unless the "host" has actually studied a different language or fluently speaks another language then that is virtually impossible -__- . There is 1 brain. I understand the mind comes up with alter ego's but come on. It's just like people saying that they can have alters that are a different race or skin color than when you were actually born with. That is bs because as a white person you could not possible have the experience of any person of color living in the world (i.e colorism, systematic oppression, discrimination based of race.) It is virtually impossible and politically incorrect. I condemn that so much. I'm just being a realist. No one is born with the memories of other individuals. The personalities develop over time for a clear cause.

Allurminate yes but an alter can come from a person that they met or they wish “existed” like a kind of figure that they missed o they wanted to have in their lifes. A friend , a sister, a brother so it can come in every form or skin color. Although so many peoples affected by D.I.D says that alters can talk languages that the host can’t speak. Trust me this is not the case to be kind of “realistic” these peoples really lives with this , and if we wanted to be “realistic” this shouldn’t be even real. Trust me i don’t think you would like one day to wake up and feeling like you have to share your body with other “person”

For my psychology term paper, I chose to write a research paper on DID. I have read at least a hundred different sources of studies and research and I definitely believe there is evidence to prove that DID is in fact legitimate. However, I also am conflicted to say that whole heartedly because since the disorder gained a lot of attention after the movie Sybil came out, the amount of people diagnosed with DID spiked 80%. There is also a LOT of evidence of psychologists imposing this disorder on troubled patients due to either a misdiagnosis or a selfish want to say they have a DID patient. I only say this because I often see people diagnosing themselves with this disorder and I fear movies such as Sybil or Split or tv shows like United States of Tara have really romanticized DID. And similar to the whole anorexia and self harm epidemic (teens romanticizing that as well) I get worried when I see young people claiming they have DID without getting properly diagnosed and treated. I only bring all of this up because reading these comments, I definitely see way too many troubled kids claiming they have DID without actually understanding what it means to have this disorder. It's nothing to self-impose on your life. If you do experience some of the symptoms and experiences of this disorder, don't self diagnose. See a specialist and get a proper diagnosis of your mental health. It is not something you should diagnose yourself with.

I KNOW I have D.I.D, my psych says I don't because I'm aware of my alters... In fact, if she had met me at age 15 (wait, she did - just she didn't listen to me), I would have been D.I.D. I apparently had D.I.D in 2015, yet 2 years later - now I suddenly don't have it because my psych doesn't believe we do. I'm 26 (biologically, I struggle with remembering I'm not actually 15) and have lived with this since I was 15 (to my knowledge), yet my family tell me about age 9/10 is when I "changed" overnight - which I suspect was a 'new host' taking control. I experience this daily, either C-PTSD or any of the various disorders my alters have, and inflict upon my person. ~ hannah.

Watching videos like this really blows my mind and I still don't really understand DID. My brain automatically tells me that people in this videos are just acting and that having alters like that is not possible. I don't even wanna say that I don't believe you, I just think it's really hard to grasp if you don't have DID yourself or if you know somebody very well that has DID.

I thought I was 'crazy' for years, that I had voices in my head with losing time (I just convinced myself that my memory was AWFUL) and even though I had heard of M.P.D (back in the day :P) - I didn't believe it myself until I actually was told by others so I can understand not being able to believe it. ~ Hannah.

Genesis , This is def not fake, the reactions are genuine and it takes pretty skilled person to pull this off but Genesis you do understand this is already a real thing so why fake it and even if it was fake you can find somebody with this disorder who will do this So no matter what , whats in the video is real and happens to people. The C.I.A did this in 1970 and tried to create alters in regular people it was called project mk ultra.

That is very interesting since regardless of personalites, they still all grew up in the same region and body so how/why would one of them pick up an American accent? You see what I mean? Not saying it's faked but it's not average. Changing in tone and vanacular is. Not total change in region. Try and think of 5 different people growing up in the same house and room. One wouldn't develop a different accent. Accents are based on region of origin. Just a little confused by that..

Sean Bragg I can't say what it's like for every system, but I know my guys feel uncomfortable by mirrors - they feel "caught off guard" in the reflection they see back. It's almost like if they don't look into the mirror they can forget that they're in a female body, but that bubble is burst if they see a reflection

From one nutjob to another... thank you for the honest input. I will relay that info at group next week. We don't have any DID in that group but we are studying it and all of us are quite interested in the facts. This group is mentally ill people trying to educate themselves on their illness. We got all types but no DID, so we are quite curious.
@InLoveWithMyBestie
@InLoveWithMyBestie 7 лет назад
Sean Bragg I know I'm nowhere near as accurate as someone who actually has this, but in AP Pysch we were taught that most systems tend to see 'themselves' - for example, each of these alters had a drawing of themselves beside them at the start of the video, and we learned that alters tend to see /that/ person in the mirror. Of course this is different for different people, and again, I cant speak as well as those who have DID.

@didyoujust7810

I have DID, and it took a few months to get an answer from everyone in my system but... when we look in the mirror, we each see the physical body, and there's slight changes to it. One of my more muscular alters see's himself as bigger than my body actually is, but it's all perception at the end of the day. I know they hate looking in the mirror most of the time as it's not the ACTUAL body they're used to facing back at them.

Not that it is any of ours business, but I myself would like to think that Gaz knows all of them well, and would therefore know when to stop. He is married to Jess, not the others. Therefore, he is only intimate with her. That's just my natural take on the matter
