There are many faces to the Amen Clinics team, and each has their own story. Meet Vernon Johnson, a Child, Adolescent, & Adult Psychiatrist at Amen Clinics Dallas. Dr. Johnson discusses the importance of developing a bond between a doctor and patient, and how shifting towards a holistic, whole-person approach is transforming psychiatry.
For the past 25 years, Dr. Vernon Johnson has provided comprehensive mental health care to the people of North and East Texas. Dr. Johnson completed his undergraduate education at Rice University prior to attending the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Following medical school, Dr. Johnson completed a pediatric internship at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, a residency in psychiatry and behavioral health at The University of Texas Medical Branch, and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Dr. Johnson now specializes in the treatment of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum, Behavioral Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, Delusional Disorders, Disorders of Adult Personality and Behavior, Mood and Anxiety Disorders, and Mental Disorders due to primary medical illnesses.

Dr. Johnson was a God send for my teenage son. He was patient, understanding and extremely knowledgeable and thorough.

I had an appointment with Dr Johnson at the Amen clinic. DR Johnson was 30 minutes late for my cash paid appointment. He then proceeded to be curt, make excuses, and told me he didn't feel we ' connect '. At which point, after a two minute conversation, refused to see me. Dr. Johnson was not compassionate and was mean to me.
