It's actually nice to see these north korean boys getting an opportunity to enjoy life! Edit : you guys don't have to start a fight but just use common sense! K-pop idols lives aren't easy yet living in North Korea is deadly! so basically these boys got the opportunity to LIVE in PEACE.
@@peachyarts386 was flying with north koreans in one airplane and they have looked like normally people. heard about the comebacks after escapes in sk, so at all not sure regarding the happiness level gap.
I hope they have strong security too. While it is dangerous for their family back in NK, there might be soldiers from the north that might come down to try to get them back or worse. Please protect these boys. ❤❤❤
The minute they made it to South Korean soil they became citizens of Sk meaning if a Nk soldier tried to harm them it would be seen as an act of war from the Nk side of it all. And Nk wouldn't risk all that just for 2 defectors
@@purpleskiesforever Kookie pinned a comment of them saying thank you for featuring them, so that's the quickest way to find the yt, they only have two videos and as of now they have subtitles (prob because they're going for a US debut)
Kookielit, Please update us sometimes on these boys, we all want to know more about them and when to expect their debut! We want to support them from the start and your news are always so up-to-date ☺🥰
Seeing their background makes me so sad and feeling so bad for them...but now that they've come to a new country and is pursuing their career...I wish the best for them!
It's amazing how two North Koreans became idols! I'm so happy for them! As an American, I'm wishing them the best and good luck!! Can't WAIT for thier debut! I supporting them till the end! They deserve this!! Love from the US!!
The way this company is like I’m gonna debut them in the west, so lemme give them classes on cultures and - like I’ve never heard of this company. They can do this but these bigger companies can’t? Anyway, I’ll be looking out for these kiddos and am looking forward to their debut.
CEO’s name is Michelle meaning she probably grew up or was born in the West. Not saying other companies shouldn’t follow suit..but it’s different than those who grew up in the homogeneous country like South Korea which has only recent seen a surge in immigrants.
I mean it kinda makes sense since they are very sheltered in NK and practically know nothing about the outside world so they kinda need to be taught. S. Koreans can easily use the internet if they are interested enough about these topics....although the same goes for some people in the western countries. But you would also assume that some things are also taught in school. Most companies though still dont target the West a.k.a just the US for debuting groups there. Their primary market is still their own country and the rest if they are lucky enough to get international fans they will maybe include them in tours. And if they even luckier they will end up in western charts. Social media in that regard is a big help for artists these days.
@@nasirjoneswifey North Koreans defectors aren't immigrants, they're refugees, and are technically citizens of the Republic of Korea (South Korea) according to its constitution. Plus, North Koreans are ethnically Korean, just like South Koreans, so it's different than a Mongolian or Vietnamese person becoming an idol.
I live in In San Diego California USA and I just want to say I am proud of the boys who are achieving their dreams. I am looking forward to their debut. I believe your songs will inspire many people around the world. You have my support and wish the best for you.
I look forward to seeing them debut. I really hope those idiot Netizens leave them alone once they debut and allow them to leave their past behind and start fresh.
Imo, we shouldn't be making profitable films about the suffering and painful stories of specific North Korean defectors without their permission. Maybe a drama based on a North Korean who defects to South Korea and achieves their dream of becoming a performer, artist, etc?
@@in00n Of course the same rules apply in this regard as for any other story based on real people - however, in most countries those differ for people who are already in the public eye vs private individuals. Sure, it could be done more loosely, and it usually is for dramatic purposes anyway. Eg The Glory was based on a real case of school bullying. And there have already been many movies and dramas about defectors. Or maybe if they were asked to contribute they would even welcome the publicity.
I read In Order to Live which is a memoir by Yeonmi Park about her life in North Korea and becoming a defector at a really young age. It was a very traumatizing story all throughout but I've learned more than any Google Search I've could've made. North Korea is no joke and defecting it is a very challenging feat. My utmost respect to these people and admiration to anyone who made it out. Congratulations ❤
Omg finally! I was hoping the K-pop industry would give North Koreans a chance but for safety reasons, I can understand. I think this is a start to very great beginnings for them.
I'll have to keep an eye out for them to cheer them on. I wonder if they have any pre-debut content we can watch (with English subtitles). Great video, Kookielit!
Ever since I started listening to Kpop I've always wondered if I was ever going to see North Korean defectors debuting in Kpop, I'm glad to see it finally happening. I usually pretty much only listen to girl groups, with a few boy group songs sprinkled here and there but I'm very excited to see where they go and will support them
I really hope somewhere in the near future, North Korea becomes a free country, and the people living their can lead a normal life like others. These guys are really inspiring, I would like to support them when they debut!!
The headlines for this group keeps being 'North Korea Kpop idols' and I was shocked to see the support, because I thought it was an attempt from North Korea to breach the world's entertainment industry and try to look 'better'. I'm glad I clicked on this video and learned they are defectors, not North Korea new propanganda machine. I will look forward their debut!🎉❤
There's already been DPRK-Pop bands out there for decades, like Pochonbo Electric Ensemble (보천보전자악단) and Wangjaesan Light Music Band (왕재산 경음악단). Moranbong Band (모란봉악단) was called "North Korea's Blackpink". (sorry, I'm just really into studying the DPRK). There's also been North Koreans defectors who are famous, or at least well-known on social media, in South Korea for years, like Lim Ji-hyun (임지현) and Ri Chol-eun (리철은), and Kang Na-ra (강나라).
@@in00n Thank you for this amount of informations ! I'm a casual kpop listener so it was my first time hearing about a North-Korean band, but now I can look up some others and discover some new music! No need to be sorry for being interested, you allow people like me with no background knowledge to discover some new stuff! Thank you :)
Why especially girls? And, most North Koreans who defect just want to have the chance to live a comfortable life, and ensure that their descendants won't be born into some dystopian hellhole.
This definitely seems to be an amazing and inspiring story. I’m hopeful they will be treated decently. I pray they will be supported, treated respectfully and protected. I also hope that they will be sincerely welcomed by ALL. I will try to support their debut and future musical projects. 🙆🏻♀️🙏🏽
I’m excited to see what they can do and also a little nervous for them. We’ve already seen how political and xenophobic K-pop fans & media outlets can be towards foreign idols especially K-pop idols of Chinese & Japanese Nationality. I hope the company can keep them protected and secured from that negativity.
Some positive news. What a feeling huh! I'll be on fence if this will continue this trend of good news. For the sb Boys we hope for a successful debut and career in the future. For their agency we hope and pray that whatever happens you're there for them all the boys.
I got a happy feeling when I saw this.... I wish these men all the best, they truly deserve happiness and good fortune in their lives now that they are able to express themselves and be open to new opportunities 😊❤
I’m praying that these two young man accomplish all the goals that they have set for themselves! And hearing their difficult journey makes me wants to cheer them on 💪🏾💪🙏🙏🏾🌏
When I read the title I thought they are still living in North Korea. That would be a real surprise, but then, I can't imagine a North Korean group without Kim Jong Un as the face, center, main vocal and, of course, leader of the group (not so sure about the main dancer, though).
Kpop is originally meant for Koreans, both South and North, right now we have North Koreans becoming pop singers let support them, and hope one day this one can bridge the gap between the two nations.
애고! Thanks, Kookielit. I now have a new favorite K pop group, right up there with Twice, Bravegirls, BTS, 4Minute and Blackpink. 유혁 씨, 김 석 씨, 안영하새요! I will pray for you and cheer you on as SB Boyz takes off. 만새!👍
I hope their debut goes without a hitch. Super proud of them for breaking the mold and debuting as a N.K. Kpop artists. I know its going to either go super well or super badly. I hope its the super well. If they do debut in the US I am sure they will gain a lot of fans because we tend to support the underdogs in things. Knowing the ones who struggled the hardest can produce the best results.
Holy fuck! I can't wait to see these guys on my radar! Its a shame these 2 men were born in north korea though, i cant imagine what they both went through, and the possible effects of the life risking journey they took, but it was worth it, to escape a country thats like a prison.
I have did a lot of research on NK recently. Disgusting what is going over there and very very sad that the world can't do a thing about it . I hope these boys do well in life and I wish them both all the best 🏴❤
As a german, living close to where the border to the GDR once was and being educated on the stories of separated families and people who lived in the GDR. It always makes me so sad seeing this country is still separated. We were lucky that Germany reunited again, but they didn’t have the chance yet. Hearing that these two Korean boys will have to face lots of criticism and hate due to their nationality makes me angry. They were once from the same country. One developed very fast and one is heavily isolated from the world. They should welcome the defectors with open arms since they experienced true hardships and difficulties!! I wish them all the happiness from the world and lots of success 💙
Maybe there are a lot of young people out there in North Korea that have the looks and talents but due to the political dispute K-Pop is way too difficult to reach..
Wow, that’s an amazing story,… So inspiring that they were able to make it out to live a better life… I wish those boys, safety, happiness, and success!
this world will surely support on you and getting excited on your coming debut . we all proud on you. fighting boys and i will continue to wish too that someday all citizens of North korea will get thier freedom . 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I don’t like bg, but if they are talented (haven’t heard them yet, and probably won’t as I, again, don’t enjoy bg), I hope they have a great career! Wish them the best in their lives!
I'm not a kpop fan I use to but kpop was affecting my studies so I left it I only whatch ur channel for little updates on kpop and stuff and I hope these north Korean boys cab achieve their dreams
