Businessman Alex Lee has set up a village of 29 traditional Malay houses on the east coast state of Terengganu, Malaysia. Many of them are abandoned aristocratic houses which he took over and painstakingly dismantled and reassembled. cna.asia/2BQeifS

This is not just Malay architecture, this is TERENGGANU architecture. Malay houses are very different from state to state and Terengganu is known for having its own distinct culture and tradition from the rest of the Malay-speaking world.

Cause of islam. Islam dictates that you forget your own culture, history and follow the arab way of life.

@@WingWingHerro No actually, it's not because of Islam. Malay ppl have habits "ambil mudah".
@chickensoup9869

@@WingWingHerro Islam is pro-diversity. In fact the concept of ketuanan melayu is against Islam. “O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another.” Surah al-Hujurat (13) And if any one of the polytheists seeks your protection, then grant him protection so that he may hear the words of Allah. Then deliver him to his place of safety. That is because they are people who do not know. Surah al-Tawbah (6) “And to the Thamud [We sent] their brother Salih.” Surah al-A'raf (73) “And to 'Aad [We sent] their brother Hud.” Surah Hud (50) “And to Madyan [We sent] their brother Shu'ayb.” Surah Hud (84) The Malay society has been always struggling with separating culture and religion. Orphans who didn't have any cultural norms nurtured into their brains during childhood have the advantage of learning things with direct citations from printed records. I wasn't one, just was raised by one. All those like bomoh and feudalistic customs are from Malay culture not Islam.

I am an American and I admire traditional Malay houses in villages especially along the east coast. Visited the area thrice already and plan to go there again end of 2022.

Beautiful but i prefer to intall ceiling so that it can cooling down a bit the house if not like my old kampung house is so hot at day.

@muhammadnaim8203 4 года назад
If you use the same material like shown in this video, it wont be so hot. The house is using the 'atap singgora' from the clay, and between the 'peleh', there should some space or gap for air to come in and out from the house. Traditional house are designed to manipulate air movement to keep it cool. You can try visit Kota Lama Duyong that built based on 'Rumah Bujang Berpeleh' and 'Rumah Limas Bungkus' type and you can feel it yourself how the temprature inside the how keep low at daytime.
