With using the adventure van for everything including the dirt bike tripes you could add an onboard air system then you would have the ability to pump tires up and various other tasks.

Looks brilliant! Not a big fan of the side mounted storage hooks so, those look like an accident in the waiting. It only takes one preoccupied pedestrian or bike rider to come along and then it is all over.

So you put skis on the outside because of some story, but you leave all your heavy gear loose in the rear. In a crash all that is going to fly forward and kill whomever is in the front seats. Get a cargo net eh.

Great looking rig Cody. Have you considered puting Line-x on the exterior off your van for added protection. I line-x'ed my entire 4x4 adventure Van back in 2013 and it has performed beyond my expectations. The van still looks show room new after 5 years of hard use in the far north. I have several videos of the van posted for your reference. It's somting I would highly recommend. Peace out brother!

I'm on my second van in 10 years, learned a lot along the way. Just had some nice stainless steel side steps delivered, I'll fit them this weekend. I've enjoyed watching the progress of your van. Keep up the great video's.

Hey Cody, I just wanted to say that I bought myself a Benchmade 940 a few years ago because of you. I carry it every day and it is finally starting to get that "worn" look from all the use. I use it for everything and have done some crazy stuff with it. It is now one of my most prized possessions and I would be very upset if I ever lost it. This comment is not related to this video but I just wanted to say thank you.

That is one of the cleanest brush guards I have seen. Most of them stick out and dont really mold to the front of the rig they are on. Love the roof rack, good call on aluminum bottom to the rack also. Looks like you could put a small tent up there for summer time camping and it would give you a nice view. :)

You are using the wrong inflatables then. The high volume pumps that come with the Intex Explorers allow you to inflate in minutes easily.

Fair warning, I have the same long light bar. The attachment for the light bar is cast pot metal. Thankfully I was on my driveway when it snapped. I ended up designing my own with spare aluminum I had lying around.

When I was a kid my Dad had customized his old Dodge, no where near what is available today. Anyway long story short we spent so much time camping growing up I am still uncomfortable living in the city. So many amazing memories. Good looking van

On the subject of cargo inside the vehicle, I have a large (and heavy) tool / survival kit in my SUV. I bought a heavy duty plastic chest to keep everything in. I use the cargo compartment's factory tie down points and have threaded heavy duty cargo straps through slits cut in the handgrips and over the top of the chest. This allows me to ratchet it down tight. I am confident it will be hanging from the ceiling, locked in place, even if I was to roll over.

Maybe a surround for the roof vent to ensure clearance ? Would really want to know the bumper bars do not compromise or mask airbag sensors or activation... you did not mention that at all.

The bumper bar is meant to absorb impact so in case of a serious accident it will bend and the sensors will still activate. They are mostly for small trees and branches that might smash your lights or scratch the paint. If they were too strong you would bend the frame if you hit something solid which in most cases means whatever they are attached to turns into a boat anchor.

Looks like a skookum set up! You can get clear thick sheets of stick on plastic to put on the side of the van to protect it from your boot toes scratching the paint as you use the ladder, put these on soon!! Cheers!

Awesome what you are doing with the van...can't wait to see the lights on! Man the fires are very bad, I wish California would give a call to Quebec and Ontario, to request the big CL-215 and the CL-415 water bombers, it's freaking winter here, no forest fire, I would just love to see the 50 or 60 we have just go there and join the fight, those things can reload water from a lake or any river or ocean in 15 seconds, and unload on the fires tons and tons of water in minutes....

Damned tall unit. Looks solid and overall utilitarian and not over the top / Napolean complexed out. Put your ski's in ski bag then have a "body bag" made to put them all in so you're not crudding them up with the road calcium grime. Looks fantastic.

Could always fit a small air tank underneath and just refill it when you get your fuel & water. ( those little pumps just drain your batteries so it might be a useful idea if you had a puncture or had changed tyre pressures for better grip in mud or something) well done in making a great investment *family fun*

What is the legality of having stuff hanging off the side of your vehicle?

@@johnj.baranski6553 To what point? You can't just keep strapping stuff to the outside of your vehicle, even if it is secured. My dually pick-up is required by state (NH) and federal law (DOT) to have markers (yellow and red) delineating the widest part of my truck - this requirement is for anything wider than 80 inches (my truck is 92 inches wide). And, again - per law, nothing can extend beyond those markers without proper temporary identification (which could include a pilot and/or escort vehicle). Per the online specs, a Ford Transit is between 77 and 81 inches wide. Those hooks look like they are sticking out a good 10 inches from the body. If Cody clips someone with the cargo hanging off the side, or someone hits it, I'd bet dollars to donuts he would be held liable for all damages, as well as being cited. Be well, Doc

Pivoting in those surf board hooks while something is in them will keep the ski or board tight to the vehicle and not stick out as far! A little more secure that way too!

Suggestion: Put some soft material that is durable on the hooks so you won’t scratch your skis 🎿 or surfboard etc. Just a thought.

If you happen to have a heavy wall bias tire kicking around cut yourself rubber grommets to mount your lights and oversize the bolts one size and youll likly never have to worry of vibration damage to the led lights. Otherwise the mounts have no give to them other then just the suspansion of your van. That little extra give in the monting yet security saves the diods from rattling loose

You may want to reconsider your exterior lighting - there are times, especially during emergencies, when being able to get good light all the way around matters. If you camp in remote areas, adding cameras to the exterior adds some security. Nice video! Sharing.

Note: those “job site blowers” by dewalt and makita ect. come with inflator tips. Works great to fill up your kayaks when you get there instead of your shop.
