Jamie Sadlowski is one of the most prolific long drivers in the world, able to hit a ball nearly 450 yards. How? He got his start playing hockey, of course, and can hit a slap shot 95mph. We spent a day with the real life Happy Gilmore in Phoenix to witness these feats in person.

Pat Larson, from university of Texas (or some shit). He's like fifty now. But this dude could bomb 400 yarders. It was fucking nuts. I golfed with him when he was much older and we're on a 365 yard hole. The ranger comes up and chews us out for not hitting (I already did). Pat tells the dude, I can hit them. The ranger laughs at him and tells him to just hit it. LOL. He hits it, lands between the two golfers ahead of us, bounces onto the green.. dudes looked back all pissed off. Ranger just drives off says "damn, I'll tell em it was my fault..."

moncorp1 he'll probably try to play on tour after his body ages too much to continue competing in long drive. He has played in many Web.com tour events and played in the PGA event just a couple weeks ago, that's pretty impressive considering that he spends his time working on his long drive stuff and not practicing for competitive regulation rounds.

I think it's amazing that he's a lefty playing hockey and a righty playing golf. A slap shot and teeing off a golf ball have a lot in common but to do it at the level he does with each hand is wild and speaks to his athletic ability. Wonder if he ever tried swinging lefty clubs when he started

During winter Ed Oldfield Sr. teaches there too. Surprisingly a LOT of talented coaches teach there.

Hockey players are probably the best golf players. Mainly because they are very well conditioned to rotation their body, plus they are usually the perfect size for a golfer.

+el060248 Yeah, in Canada like 70% of hockey players shoot left handed (in hockey) compared to the 10% that are in the United States. Also the majority of people I've seen golf are also right handed golfers.
